Vine prayed that no one, especially Clare to spoil her day, she just wants a smooth day as she makes plans for the wedding, she greeted the few people she saw as she kept walking to her office.
"Hello Vine" Cleo, the secretary in her office greeted
"Good morning Cleo, you came early today, is there any occasion?" Vine took her seat behind her desk
"Not really, wanted to stay away from my nagging husband as early as possible today" Cleo pressed down on her computer like what she just said was not a touching matter
"Oh..." Vine didn't know what to say so instead of replying she concentrated on her own business.
"Now how do I comply a weeding budget" she asked herself as she typed on her system.
"You can start with the payment of the wedding hall, ask if there will be a kind of after party or something like that" Daisy, Vine's colleague and friend, who was Clare's financial assistant walked in.
"You're always an aid in my frustrated life" Vine smiled
"Good morning Cleo" Daisy greeted the secretary and walked behind Vine.
"What have you gathered so far?" Daisy bent a little to view what's in her friend's screen
"Bills for flowers" Vine laughed at herself, she was not good at this at all
"Damn girl, seriously?" Daisy chuckled
"Yea?" Vine didn't know anything about wedding planning, but she had no choice but to do the job as professionally as possible.
"First of dear, you need to ask the future bride and groom what they prefer, you're going to do the picking out of weeding color, the dress and the suit of the groom, first of make a list of available space in doing the date they pick and make payments immediately for that place they will choose, next inform them to give you the list of guest they would like to invite and you'll make a weeding invite and send to them, after that you calm down and think of the materialization of the wedding, like flowers, food, drink and et cetera." Daisy sighed and went to take her seat finally.
"What will I do without you" Vine turned and went back to her computer, after several clicking she stood up and went to Clare's office.
"You have one job to do without involving me in stress but yet you come now to disturb my fucking peace Vine" Clare complained just as she saw Vine walk in
"Can you let me talk first princess? I promise I won't take too much of your time." Vine rolled her eyes at Clare that was being a bitch. Clare would definitely have a fit if she caught Vine's eye roll but thankfully she barely ever look at anyone but herself.
"Speak, but be first I'm really busy right now so you have two minutes." Clare said acted just like a spoilt princess.
"Can I start by asking what will make you busy when you're supposed to concentrate on your wedding" Vine walked closer to the desk.
"I'll be traveling to Ireland for a very short movie soon" Clare sighed
"Very Short movie?, Isn't that too low standard for you?" Vine brow stood curious. She didn't even bother asking why she _Clare's personal assistant_ wasn't aware of her schedule. Clare overlooked Vine's role many times except when wanted to stress her.
"It's none of your concern, I can act what ever I want to! you're not me personal advisor" Clare relaxed back in her seat to look bossy over Vine
"I will never want to be your personal advisor, I'll run mad" Vine sassed back at her quietly so Clare wouldn't hear her "Alright Clare, and by the way I'll need you to tell me some of your preference before I start planning"
"Go on" Clare replied
"First of all, is there a date for the wedding yet?" Vine took a seat opposite her without being ask to. When Clare didn't object, she relaxed.
"The wedding is in two months time after my project at Iceland, but no particular date yet" Clare replied
"Okay, what's the general colour you'll like for the day" Vine asked as she typed on her tablet
"I'll like skyblue maybe or baby blue" Clare replied after a minute of thought
"Okay, when will you do the clothing section? After your project or before you travel?" Vine asked
"Hmmm, let it be after I'm back" clare replied
"Okay, send me the list of guest you'll like to invite, tell your groom to send his own through you, then send all at ones to me" Vine said
"No no, that's stress. I'll give you his contact and you tell him yourself" Clare said as if she was avoiding talking to the dude about the wedding concerns herself
"Okay" Vine said "that will be all for now, she stood up to leave but then Clare passed her a piece of paper
"What's this?" She asked
"That's his name" Vine said and and gestured to her to leave immediately so she could go back to work
"I'll be expecting your list" Vine said before leaving
Immediately she got to the office she picked her phone and called Clare's groom to be with the number Clare just gave to her.
"Hello, this is Nathanial" Nate said as he picked the call, wondering who has his personal number that hasn't been saved in his phone
"Hello, this is Vine speaking, your wedding planner" Vine replied "I'm sorry to take your time, I need your guest list so I can get to work" Vine went straight to the point professionally even if she could swear that his low manly voice turned her on. "Did he just wake up from sleep" she thought in her mind while she blushed
"Did you hear what I said?" Nate spoke from the other end of the call
"Sorry the line wasn't stable, can you repeat what you said" Vine lied, she was distracted with the way his voice resonated and how it made her feel. She was just glad that no one could see the tomato red blush on her face.
"I said why didn't you use my business number, this is my personal contact" Nate said
"How the hell I'm I supposed to know that" Vine wanted to say be decided to stay professional "sorry sir, the number was given to me directly from your fiancee, she didn't state that it was your personal contact" Vine explained calmly
"Is this your personal contact?" Nate asked
"Why the hell is he asking me questions, I asked him just one and he hasn't replied" Vine almost went out of the game "yes sir" she rolled her eyes
"Okay, send me a text of your email address, I'll send the list through your email" Nate said and hung up just like that.
"Just like that" Vine said looking at her blank screen "gosh, they fit each other, their both arrogant" Vine complain and sent him her email through text "I can't believe I was loving his voice, he's sure a rude man.. ughh! What a total turn off"
After the day work, she concluded on all she had to do and left the office.
On getting home she saw her fifteen year old younger brother kissing a girl at their front pouch "my gosh, has this boy turn mad?" She paid the cab driver and walked like some scary big sister to the entrance
"Mind eating her face after I make you bleed through that same mouth?"
His sister wasn't mean or anything like that but sometimes she had that terrifying vibe and it kind of scared the shit out of sometimes.
Tony immediately composed himself on hearing his sister's voice, the girl he was kissing hide her blushing face behind Tony
"Bambi I didn't know you were coming back so soon today" Tony had no exact word to say to start this weird conversation
Vine raise a brow at him, like she never had a particular time she comes back from work.
"Okay Bambi I'm sorry?" Tony wasn't sure on what to say to make his sister stop looking at him like a kid caught stealing some chocolate at night.
"Just walk her to take a cab and come inside" Vine said and walked behind them into the house
"Babe I'm so sorry, I swear I didn't know my sister was coming back this early, I'm sorry for the embarrassment" Tony sounded sad, his plans definitely didn't work out.
"It's okay Tony, at least she didn't act rude towards me" the girl said shyly
"I'm also sorry I couldn't introduce you the right way, I'll make sure I do that next time" Tony prayed that there would be a next time, hoping his sister wouldn't be so mad at him and maybe stop him from seeing the girl, the answer was waiting for him when he enters the house.
"See you tomorrow at school?" Tony's friend asked, looking nervously from brother to sister.
"Of course" Tony waved her off as she got into her private car, her driver came out and opened the door for her, she turned back to look at Tony with a small smile before her driver shut the door.
Tony took a while outside stalling before entering the house, his sister had already prepared a quick noodle for them, she passed him a plate and took a seat on the cabinet stool.
Tony stood there, looking for what to say first, he sat down beside her and mumbled a thank you.
"You're welcome darling, so who's your friend" Vine asked calmly, it made Tony unsure of the situation he was in.
"She's my band mate" Tony replied
"Band?" Vine was confused now
"Yea, I didn't join the acting club again at school, I joined the music club inside and we made a crew today, everything happened so fast" Tony explained
"I almost forgot you had the sweetest voice I've ever heard, you stopped singing since we came to LA, what changed?" Vine didn't realize the topic had already changed.
"When we left town to LA, I felt like the inspiration of singing left me, you became so busy for me and all so I just didn't get the flare to sing anymore." Tony said
"Oh boy, I'm so sorry, I've been soo busy and I haven't been spending as much time with you." Vine said sadly
"I understand Bambi" he smiled softly at her, his sister was the most affectionate person he knew.
"So how did you join the music club?" Vine asked, trying to involve herself more in her brother's life so she won't end up a bad sister. They had just eachother.
"Well I was passing, looking for a club that I would fit in, you said I shouldn't do something just because people wanted that from me but should be what I want, when I passed a room I heard a really nice voice that reminds me of grandma, the person sang with passion in her voice like grandma so I had to step in, it was the girl you saw earlier, her voice captivated me and I couldn't help but join her in the song, after the part, the leader of the club said I should join in and I should make a crew with the girl because she fits my vibes well" Tony explained and waited patiently for his sister to react.
"So you practically just met her and you brought her to the house?" Vine raised a brow
"That's not what happened, we talked a little and she's a really interesting person, she asked to drop me off when her personal driver came to pick her up, normally I'll say yes and that's how we got here, she wanted to walk me to the house because we were still talking about some school stuffs, but when we reached she because shy all of a sudden and ask if we could spend more time together, I said it'll be a bit wrong because my sister isn't around for me to introduce her first, but then I told her she wouldn't be back on time so we could actually go inside, she asked I kiss her all of a sudden and then I did, that's when you walked up on us" Toby lowered his face and dug into his noodles.
"She was even too shy to say a hi" Vine chuckled "it's fine, but don't do that kind of PDA in front of the house, I don't want people saying that I'm not training you well"
"Sure" Tony nodded and continued his meal
"And I would like to see her anytime she wants" Vine join her brother with the meal.
Vine quickly made it down the pavement, cursing as her heels pressed against her toes. She didn't find a cab, and she couldn't wait so she had to walk at least three blocks. It wasn't like she wasn't good with heels. She was good with walking in them not running, and she would have taken them off without a thought, so she could run better, if not for wanting to maintain decency. She finally made it to her apartment, stopping for a second to catch her breath and take off those demonice heels since she was away from public eyes it felt like heaven to be free. As she burst through the door, she saw Gold sharply turn around in fear, as she knelt down beside Tony, who in turn, was laying on the couch.“Jesus Christ, you scared me." Gold clutched her chest and stood up, going to hug Vine. Vine half heartedly accepted the hug, her entire mind transfixed on her brother, show as laying on the couch. “I'm sorry. What's going on?" She asked her best friend.Gold walked away from her, going b
Elizabeth was getting impatient. This morning, Mark, her husband had spoken to her in a way she didn't appreciate.“Do you know, that pushing Clare into doing all those stupid things, is only going to ruin her life and yours?" He said behind her. She hated him, she hated him from her core and she was angry she couldn't do anything about it. She didn't have enough money to hire a divorce lawyer, which was eating her up, because she wanted to divorce Mark and throw him out of the house, or get a new one for herself. “What has it got to do with you? Mind your business, Mark. No one wants to hear you talk.""But you need to hear it, Elizabeth. What are you thinking? You're supposed to be the one that's guiding her, how come you're even more stupid?" “How dare you, Mark? You're the one who's stupid, and you've always been since you decided to make this stupid investments that basically killed us." “Need I remind you, that I made those investments, because I spent so much money settlin
“Make sure to book me an appointment at the spa and the nail salon the Wednesday before the wedding. Since Nate said he wanted lilies, visit the flower shop and order them. Also, the baker hasn’t said anything about the cake yet. Have you called him?” Vine didn’t know why Clare was suddenly interested in the wedding. The wedding was still three weeks away and for the past week, Clare had been fretting about all the details. She had gone over everything that Vine had done, basically defeating the purpose of her being a wedding planner. She hadn’t got angry though. She had been spending the past few weeks with Nate. She had finally told him her concern and he had promised to speak to his grandfather very soon. He was sure that his grandfather would grant his request, after listening to him.Vine walked away from Clare to go over the corrections. She had been behaving strange lately. Vine had seen her throwing up on several occasions and she looked like she gained some weight. Clare was
Vine went across the street for the third time. Clare had come into the office today and was already being a pain in the neck. She shouted at Vine for not managing the office properly, complaining about the dust on her table. Vine was still dealing with the drama, when her mother came in, and Vine had to ask herself if she had been cursed. As soon as Elizabeth sat down, she called for Vine to get her coffee from the shop across the street. When Vine brought it, she said it was too black, she needed a little bit more cream, so she went back. The second time, Elizabeth said she needed crackers. The third time, she said the coffee had got cold while she was waiting for Vine so she wanted another cup. Vine wanted nothing more than to scream at her, and give her a piece of her mind, but she knew that would be the day she died, so she just swallowed her anger and took the elevator down. The truth was, Elizabeth kept sending Vine on errands because she didn’t want Vine to hear what she an
Gold's wishes had come true. When Ron called her later that night, laughing and sounding so happy and cheerful about his dinner with Vine, she felt so relieved. Ron had been the first to get there. He didn't want Vine waiting for him, it wouldn't be very nice. He had booked a very expensive restaurant, a little distance away from his home, away from anyone he knew. He has to book the entire restaurant, so that he and Vine would have the privacy he wanted them to have. It was also to prevent Marilyn from accidentally seeing them together. Marilyn had never spoken about Vine and he wanted to keep things that way. When he saw her walk into the restaurant in that dress, he felt his heart do a backflip. He scoffed, not knowing how to react to it. The gown hugged her body, perfectly, bringing out every curve that there was to see.Was it a coincidence that it was the exact shade of blue he liked? That was far fetched. He knew that Gold had something to do with this, and he couldn't tha
There was a spring in Vine's step, as she made it into the vineyard. Normally, she should be sad that she was going to taste the wine that would be served at the wedding of the man she loved, but right now, all she thought about was the fact that she was going to get to see Nate after days. She hadn't seen him for a while and happiness filled her heart as she waited for him to show up. Clare wasn't really involved in the planning, so it would just be the both of them. She intentionally told the attendant to wait before bringing the wine. She wanted Nate to be here first, before she did anything. Nate would give anything to be anywhere else, but on his way to see Vine. He had let his best friends in on what had happened, and while they were shocked to their bones and almost killed him, they told him that he couldn't avoid her.He knew he couldn't avoid her too, but the guilt eating him up inside would be the one to expose him. Not wanting to get down from his car, he sat in the car
