As they broke apart for air, Sophia's eyes locked onto Marcus's, her mind racing with questions. What just happened? Why did he kiss her like that? And why did she feel like she was melting into his arms?

Marcus's eyes, still burning with intensity, seemed to bore into her soul. He took a deep breath, his chest rising and falling, and Sophia's gaze drifted to his lips, still tingling from their kiss.
