Chapter 6

Rachel and her father entered the study room of Mr Reyes and when he raised his head he saw them. He got up from behind the desk and greeted them. “How are you Mr Rodriguez ,am do sorry for what happened, I was not aware and I have no clue what's going on,” Mr Reyes said 

Mr Reyes looked at Rachel and noticed that her eyes were red. He came to the conclusion that she had been crying for a long time. “Please don't cry,we will come to an amicable solution to the situation or I will make him marry you. You must be my daughter in law,” Mr Reyes continued.

“I know what's wrong, the reason as to why Harry called of the engagement with my daughter,”Mr Rodriguez spoke. Mr Reyes looked at them with a questioning look. 

“Harry found Rachel in a compromising situation with the gym guy and that's the reason he called off the engagement,” Mr Rodriguez said. 

Mr Reyes was amazed on hearing the statement that was just made. Rachel knelt before him and pleaded with him.”I know I committed a grave sin but it was a moment of weakness, I am so sorry for what I did. I love Harry and am ready to do anything to get him back, I promise it will never happen again.”

Mr Reyes looked at Rachel who was weeping uncontrollably In Front of him and felt a bit of remorse for her “ get up,we all make mistakes and some are even greater than what you have done. You don't need to cry I will find a way to make the engagement happen on the scheduled day,” Rachel was releaved to hear this come from Mr Reyes.

“I told you he will have a way to help us, your were worried for nothing,”Mr Rodriguez said as he lifted his daughter up from the ground. ‘promise me it will never happen again,” Mr Reyes looked at Rachel as he waited for an answer.

“I do promise,”Rachel said as she wiped her tears from her red eyes and cheeks.

Alicia got to the company and parked her car. She used the private lift to head to Tom’s office. As she arrived Annita looked at her with disgust in her eyes. Kelvin noticed it and was afraid of what Alicia would do to her if she saw it. 

“Good morning madam, I hope you are well this morning,”kelvin smiled at Alicia as he stood in front of Annita not to expose her facial expressions to Alicia .

“Am very fine, thank you,””is my husband in Tom's office perhaps? Or is he in his office?” Alicia asked Kelvin. “Yes he is in,” 

“Okay, thank you and have a nice day,” Alicia said to kelvin. “Have a nice day madam,’kelvin replied.

He signed a breath of relief as Alicia left towards the office. “ Why would you do that, you know she is Mr Brighton's wife and she can make you get fired in an instant by only lifting her hand. This obsession of yours with him will land you in trouble one day,”kelvin said referring to Annita.

She rolled her eyes and looked at kelvin “ I did not tell you to shield me from her, she can do nothing to me. I will make sure that Brighton is mine at any cost,” Rachel told kelvin as she took out the picture that she had of Brighton.

She got in the office and looked at the distressed faces that were Infront of her. Tom raised his head and saw Alicia at the door. “What are you doing here, you should be at home taking care of the kids. We will settle the situation at hand,”Tom said looking at Brighton.

“ I need to be here, she will mess with what I have worked to put in place for do many years. She will have to go through me if she wants a fight,”Alicia said. “Am ready for anything that she will do.” 

“Come down, we already have a plan she will not be an obstacle to as anymore after what we will do to her,” Brighton said. “She does not deserve anything but pain in her life,”Brighton looked with disdain as he said the statement which was referring to Tamara. 

There was a knock and Brighton walked towards the door. He opened and a man dressed casually with a black baseball cap walked in. Alicia looked at him with a questioning look.

“I need you to finish the job that you started. She is back and we want you to eliminate her, she will be trouble if she stays alive.” Tom said to the man. Alicia’s question seemed to have been answered indirectly as she was taken a back by the words. 

“Okay sir I will finish the job and inform you about it,”the man said. “You will be paid handsomely for this job if you only do it well,” Tom said.

The man held the edge of his cap and nodded as he walked away in style. No one could tell that he was a hired serial killer. “We never planned to kill anyone, what is this all about?” Alicia asked as he looked at Tom and Brighton.

“Do you think we got this company without eliminating the barriers that were there?” Tom asked Alicia. It was now clear to hear that the accident that Tamara’s family was involved in was not just an accident but it was orchestrated by his now husband Brighton and Tom. 

“I never thought you could go to this length just to have the company to yourself, killing your family for material things,that's just disgusting,” Alicia looked at Tom with disgust. “You were also part of this charade, I can't believe it.”Alicia refered to Brighton.

“you are not as holy as you think you are Mrs Alicia, you are also involved in the chaos indirectly. Why do you think at the time the accident happened Tamara was in the car?” Tom asked her. Alicia thought of the reason and it was because she had forced Tamara to go with her parents on a vacation while she never wanted to under the instructions of Brighton. 

“So you made me an accomplice to murder unknowingly? How could you do that?” Alicia let out a cry and covered her face. “You will not get away with this, I promise you,” Alicia said as she took her handbag and walked out the office.
