Chapter 4.

He could still remember that omega, his soft scent of flowers, in the middle of that dark night and among the trees. How he had held his body, and how that delicate omega had placed his hands on the alpha’s cheeks looking into his eyes.

"I love you, Alexis..." Luka had whispered, looking into his eyes.

Snapping back to reality, coming out of those memories that so disturbed his mind, Alexis looked down in embarrassment. He could remember everything about Luka now, those memories that his mind had so deeply repressed were now clear to Alexis. And in his hands, he could still feel Luka's delicate skin, the taste of his kisses, and that sweet flowery scent that wafted from his body when he released his pheromones. But now Alexis was no longer 17, and he couldn't appreciate the beautiful flower that omega had become, he had lost her chance to make things right with Luka long ago.

"I don't think it's profitable for an omega to drink alcohol" Alexis replied in a serious tone.

Smiling with amusement, Luka asked: "Really? That's funny because I think you had a different perception of drunken omegas a couple of years ago, King Alexis..."

Suddenly, the whole conversation between Alexis and Luka had become very tense, as Luka sounded extremely mysterious with his words, and Alexis was looking paler and paler. And deciding to put an end to this nonsense, which was beginning to change the mood unpleasantly, Alexey Romanov decided to interrupt the talk and ask: "You sound very familiar with my son, Mr. Luka, do you two know each other?"

Then Alexis knew that all was already lost, with that innocent question his father had said, Luka had the chance to start saying the nasty things he had done to him. So for an instant, Alexis thought it was all over for him and his unblemished reputation, not knowing what would really happen.

Taking a moment, Luka replied: "We could say no."

"What do you mean?" Alexey asked increasingly confused.

"The person I am now didn't know your son, but in the past... We both crossed paths briefly during a summer camp" Luka replied smiling.

Hearing such dangerous words, Alexis quickly looked Luka in the eyes, feeling desperate for him to keep his mouth shut, pleading in his mind not to dare say what he was thinking he would say.

But without breaking his smile, Luka found mercy in his heart, and replied: "But I never knew him personally, I just knew he was there, like anyone else in the middle of the camp."

"That makes sense, anywhere omegas and alphas come together there must be a separation, besides my son is popular, surely you knew he was in the same camp as you," Inna said, relaxing completely.

And without taking his eyes off Alexis, Luka replied: "Yes, I knew very well that he was there."

Still sweating from fear, believing he would collapse from what was happening at a moment's notice, Alexis practically dodged a bullet. Not understanding the reason, Luka for some reason had not told the truth, having the opportunity to do so, the omega had simply kept quiet, and preferred to keep the secret they both kept, thus saving Alexis.

"That's very common... All young people always gather in that kind of camp and hear rumors about each other, it's no big deal" Alexey said minimizing the matter: "Did you know that Luka was in that camp, Alexis?"

Trying to make sure no one connected him to Luka, Alexis immediately replied: "No, I never knew him."

And hearing that vile alpha's lie, Luka could only smile, preferring to keep his mouth shut even though he knew he could sink Alexis' life right then and there with just one sentence.

Even though everyone present had doubts regarding the strange talk Luka and Alexis had had a moment ago, wanting to know why Luka had talked about alcohol or seeming to be so close to Alexis, everyone was interrupted when the maids of the house brought dinner, a large feast laid out for such a special night. While everyone present marveled at the various meats that would be served and praised the cook who had made such a feast, Alexis couldn't help but look across the table at Luka, that omega who kept smiling mischievously but kept his gaze down.

The dinner went on as normal, the parents of both fiancés were the ones talking most of the time, as they wanted to ensure the union of their children and create a friendly relationship between them. While Naiya and her fiancé could only look at each other across the table, both looking very shy, and not having crossed words yet. While Maddie and Luka's older brother were trying their best to join in the chatter of the elders, trying to make a good impression of themselves at dinner, and also to continue to relax the strange atmosphere that had been left after the talk between Luka and Alexis.

Sighing softly, Alexis tried to remain calm. Luka was keeping his mouth shut, and talking in whispers only with his fiancé, he seemed oblivious to Alexis and everything that was going on around him, something that suited Alexis very well to keep him from telling the truth. Alexis was barely able to take a bite of that wonderful dinner, since in his mind he could only wish he wanted to finish that ridiculous dinner and get out of there as soon as possible, to think of a solution to all that big problem, and try to keep his image as clean as possible, which was the only thing that mattered to him.

After several minutes that became hours for Alexis, all the dinner guests finished their plates and decided to retire to the living room of the house to chat and toast with the wine that Alexis brought from the city, giving Naiya and her fiancé time to talk a little apart from the others. Alexis' first intention was to leave immediately, as he wanted to keep claiming to be in poor health to leave soon, but he understood that it would be in bad taste to do such a thing, so he decided to go with the other guests to the living room of the house just to toast, and after that to retire to their private rooms to think about the whole mess he had to deal with.

Moving a bit away from everyone else, Naiya finally got a chance to meet her omega fiancé, Sacha Kuznetsov, talking to him alone and finally getting to meet him. It was still early, as it was only their first night together, but Naiya seemed very excited about the omega in front of her and kept smiling happily at the sight of him. While scattered around the room were the other guests, chatting with each other while waiting for the maids to bring the wine. And although many of the guests had approached Alexis to talk to him, he could not pay attention to them, as his gaze was fixed on the other side of the room.

Exactly at the same window where Alexis had seen him when he arrived at the mansion, Luka was standing next to his fiancé, both of them had separated from the other guests, and talking to each other, they looked very happy looking outside and looking very affectionate. Alexis couldn't deny that he felt a little jealous, watching how the rough alpha Estephan took Luka's delicate hands between his own, and how he looked him in the eyes in such an intense way. Even though Alexis wanted to avoid any more misunderstandings or clashes with that omega, he couldn't help but stare at him from afar, wishing he could touch him as well as Estephan did...

"Alex, can I talk to you for a moment?"

Turning around and finally giving Luka out of sight in the distance, Alexis met his mother and replied: "Sure, what do you want to tell me?"

Inna looked extremely worried, and folding her arms in front of her son asked: "You don't have anything to do with Luka Kuznetsov, do you?"

"No, I already told you that."

"Don't lie to me Alex, this is serious, if you really did something with that boy and someone in town knows about it, your reputation will be tarnished forever."

"Tarnished? Why do you say that?" Alexis asked confused.

Sighing, Inna replied: "Well, that's because Luka Kuznetsov, is probably the worst omega I've ever heard of..."

Surprised, Alexis didn't know what to answer, was Luka really that bad? Remembering him with his glasses and that adorable appearance, when he had met him so many years ago and ended up with his purity, that adorable omega, had he become a despicable person? How was it possible?
