My phone buzzed again on the nightstand, the notification lighting up the screen. I reached over, still in a half-daze from the heat of the moment with Lyra. A smirk tugged at the corner of my mouth when I saw Brody’s name flash across the screen.

"Bro, we’re heading out tonight. Let’s catch up at 5:00 p.m. Be ready. No excuses."
