Millie's P.O.V.
Zack held my hand as we walked down the creek. It has been a couple of weeks since we started to go out, but we haven't done anything other than hold hands or kiss occasionally. It was as if nothing had changed. I had a feeling he wasn't all that into me, but he was trying not to hurt my feelings. That wasn't the kind of relationship I wanted to have with him.
When I kissed him, I didn't feel the type of passion I thought I would. There were no fireworks. My toes didn't curl and my heart didn't thump rapidly. Was I wrong all along? Maybe I was merely infatuated with him, and it was starting to dissipate. I needed to talk to him about it.
"Zack I..." I started to speak but got tongue-tied. I was more nervous than I thought I would be. Go ahead Millie, ask him, I tried to encourage myself in my head.
"Something wrong?" he asked, sensing my awkwardness around him.
"How much do you like me?" I asked. There, I said it.
Zack
Hayden P.O.V. Just like every other camping trip, this was no different. Dad is making us take a long hike. On what planet is this fun? Good thing I work out regularly now, so this wasn't as hard as it used to be. But I would rather stay home and ride my bike all day. Or hang out with my friends. The only upside was that I got to be near Millie. She looked mighty cute with her hiking outfit. I was already ahead of the rest of the family. I looked back a few times to check on Millie, who was suffering the most. Sweat drenched her body and face. She was out of breath. Poor thing. I almost offered to give her a piggyback ride but stopped myself since it was Zack's job now. I was surprised Zack didn't slow down for his girlfriend. He just kept walking like it was a competition. Some gentleman. I made a mental note to scold him about it later. I decided to sit down and rest for a few minutes. Maybe let those two girls catch up. I saw Alison walking
Millie's P.O.V. I held on to him tight as he carried me through the woods. I am starting to realize something. Hayden is a complete fake. He acts all tough and acts like he doesn't give a shit about anything but underneath, he is a sweetheart. He came to look for me because he didn't want me to walk alone. He was worried about me. But I bet he'd rather die before he admits it. I tightened my arms around him a little more. He wasn't kidding. He is pretty strong. He had been carrying me for a while, yet he didn't even look tired. His strong arms held my legs tightly around his waist. His hair smells like a mixture of shampoo and sweat, which was weirdly comforting to me. "Um...did you just sniff me?" he asked suddenly. "What? No, I didn't!" I said quickly. Maybe I was a little. How could he tell! "I felt you sniff my hair. You freak," he laughed. "I'm telling Zack that you are a total weirdo." "Shut up. Why would I sniff you? You smell g
Hayden's P. O. V. I watched Millie splashing around in the river with Alison. Mischievous thoughts circulated in my mind as I saw her looking completely defenseless. I know I said I'd keep my distance from her from now on, but this was too tempting. I've been teasing her since we were little, so why stop now? I swam behind her quietly. I kept my head underwater, so she didn't see me sneak up behind her. I was an excellent swimmer and I could swim without making splashing noises. I came up suddenly, then pushed her head under the water and let out an evil laugh. "HAYDEN!" Alison screamed as she saw the event unfold. Millie came up choking and spluttering water once her head was up. She glared at me and pushed me as I continued to laugh maniacally. Oh boy, she was furious and I think she was planning my murder already. "You asshole!" she said, still coughing. "Shit...are you okay?" I feigned concern but started to laugh again. "N
Millie's P. O. V. I could tell I made Hayden uncomfortable by asking him that question. I wanted to see his reaction. I expected him to tell me that he had never thought of me like that. That I was just his sister's annoying friend. Or I was too young for him, but he just stood there quietly. His pale blue eyes turned dark. "You've always liked Zack," he said. "That's not what I asked. I asked if you ever thought about asking me out," I said. I genuinely wanted to know now. I needed to find out his true feelings for me. "What difference does it make?" he said and looked away. I couldn't take it anymore. He kept avoiding my question and pretending to act casual. But I knew better. I could hear his heart beating louder as I got closer to him. How long does he plan on denying his feelings toward me? Well, I am done waiting. If he couldn't make the first move, then it's my turn. I wrapped my arms around his waist and buried my face in his
Hayden's P. O. V. She confessed to me. She actually told me she likes me. She had no idea how difficult it was for me to keep my cool. I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs to let everyone know how happy I was. And then tell her I loved her. She will finally be mine. Not Zack's or anyone else's. Mine. So why am I being a douche and not admitting my true feelings? It was for one reason only. I wanted to see if she thought I was worth the effort. I wanted her to show me she meant everything she said, and I was the one she wanted. I couldn't open my heart to her just yet. Because if she breaks it, I wouldn't be able to take it. But I couldn't let her off the hook without a kiss. So I pressed my lips on hers and poured all of my feelings into it. I wanted to devour her lips. I laughed as she threatened to make me hers.I'm already yours, silly girl,I thought to myself.I've always been yours. You just never realized it.
Millie's P.O.V. I stared at the dead squirrel on my pillow and screamed. Not because I was terrified of it but because I laid down next to it. My face almost touched its disgusting body. How did it get here? I suddenly remembered the dead rat I gave Zack as a present by mistake when I was thirteen. Courtesy of Hayden Myers. HAYDEN! Of course, it was he who put it on my pillow. It had to be him. Who else would it be? Sick bastard. Everyone looked inside my tent to see if I was okay. Zack and Alison poked their head in. I ran out of the tent to meet the rest of the family. "Honey, are you alright?" Mr. Myers asked in a concerned tone. That depends on his definition of alright. "I am okay. I am sorry for screaming. There's a dead squirrel on my pillow," I said and pointed at it. "Oh, how gross!" Mrs. Myers made a face. "Oh no, Millie Mouse, are you okay?" Hayden poked his head in and asked, feigning concern.
Hayden's P. O. V. After we got back home, I felt lonely because I hadn't seen Millie since. She must've been too busy to even hang out with Alison. I hope she isn't thinking about giving up on me already. Don't make me break into your room again, Millie,I thought. I decided to go for a ride. It was starting to feel a little stuffy inside the house, so I needed some fresh air. So I got my motorcycle out of the shed and prepared for a nice long ride to the mountains. "Can I come with you?" I was startled and turned around to see her standing there. It's like I somehow summoned her with my thoughts. "You want to go for a ride with me?" I asked. I was surprised. All these years of us being friends, she never asked me for a ride. In fact, I offered to take her for a joyride many times before, but she refused every time. No thanks, I don't want to die, she had said. "Do you really want to?" I asked again just to be sur
Millie's P. O. V. "Aaaahh! NO! Stop...I can't take it anymore!" I groaned and tried to wiggle out of Hayden's grasp, but he was too strong. He had me pinned down on the field, tickling me relentlessly. He knew I was sensitive to that and he was now taking advantage of it. "Say it...or I won't stop tickling you," he growled in my ears. "I will never say it. You degenerate fool!" I yelled, but I was getting close to admitting defeat. He is terrible! "I won't let you go unless you say it!" he smirked and continued to attack me. I so need to get him back somehow. "But...hahaha... If you...hehehe...don't... get off...people will think we are doing it!" I struggled to speak as he started to tickle me again. He was on top of me as we struggled on the ground. We were in a perfect position for people to get the wrong idea! "Say it, or I'lldoyou right here!" he declared. "You wouldn't!" I gasped. "Oh, wouldn'
Millie's P. O. V. "So, you are going to accept that position in New York, so does that mean you'll be moving there permanently?" Zack asked me. "Yes. Alison, Hayden, and I have already found an apartment. Hayden found a job as an IT there, so we should be all set," I said. "That's great. I'm happy for you guys," he said. I finally graduated from University, so it was time for me to start a new chapter of my life. It was Hayden's birthday today, so we gathered around at his house. I guess in a way, it's also a going-away party since we were moving away soon. It was also the time for REVENGE! He thought I forgot about the cake incident at Alison's party all those years ago but nooo. I have been waiting for the right opportunity. And now is my time. We gathered around to sing happy birthday. Hayden wrapped his arms around my shoulders and gazed into my eyes lovingly as I stood next to him. His mom fed him a piece of cake. Then it
Hayden's P. O. V. I was relieved when Millie said she believed me. I don't know what I would've done if she had left me. Probably kill both Ellie and Kevin. I needed to find out what the hell their deal was. Ellie definitely wasn't into me. She did that to help her asshole brother Kevin who was obsessed with Millie. I knew that deep inside. "I need to confront those two. Enough is enough," I said grimly. They took things too far. They are lucky I wasn't calling the police on them and pressing charges for assault. "Yeah, you are right," Alison sighed. "We can't let Kevin harass Millie later after you leave. He probably thinks he had won." "Let's just show everyone that we are still together for now, and their idiotic attempts to break us up didn't work," Millie said angrily. It was time for us to head back, so we packed all of the stuff and headed to our cars. "Is everything okay? You didn't really sleep with Ellie, did you?" Ja
Millie's POV. I woke up in the morning alone in my bed. Was Hayden awake already? It wasn't like him to wake up early. He always complained about how he wasn't a morning person. I wondered if he was too drunk and fell asleep in the living room. I got up and took a quick shower, then went to look for him. He wasn't in the living room. All of a sudden, I heard Alison screaming, so I went to see what was going on. My heart stopped as I saw Hayden in Ellie's bedroom. They were both half-naked. I couldn't stop my tears from flowing down my cheeks as Ellie said those ugly words about Hayden. MY HAYDEN! I ran out of the room. My mind was clouded with anger and sadness at first. I tried to breathe slowly to calm myself down. There was no way what I saw was true. Hayden could never cheat on me! But what if it did happen? What if he did sleep with Ellie in a drunken state? Would I be able to forgive him? I couldn't think. I just needed to get ou
Hayden's P.O.V. I woke up in the morning with a terrible headache. What the hell happened last night? I turned around, expecting to hold Millie but sat up abruptly as I realized I was lying next to Ellie. Ellie woke up and sat up next to me. "Good morning, sexy, you are up early!" she said. "What the fuck is going on, Ellie! Why am I here?" I said and looked down. I wasn't wearing a shirt. Although I still had my jeans on. "What do you mean why? Don't you remember our amazing night together?" she pouted. "I don't know what the hell you are talking about. I had too much to drink, and now I woke up next to you. Explain yourself, Ellie," I demanded. Ellie's smile disappeared, and her eyes turned cold. "You are being mean to me, Hayden. As far as I know, you wanted this. You couldn't wait to take me to your bed last night." "LIAR!" I screamed and grabbed her shoulder. "What's all this commotion?" I heard Alison say and open
Hayden's P.O.V. "Who wants to take shots!" Ellie exclaimed. "I am good," Millie said. She winced. Not a fan of alcohol, I guess. My good girl, I smirked as I thought to myself. The others voted yes. "Hayden?" Ellie waved the bottle of tequila at me then poured some into a cup. "Sure, I guess," I nodded in agreement. I started to drink early because I was the family's black sheep, so I was used to it. "Oh, come on Millie, stop being a goody-two-shoes and join us," Jacob said. "She said she doesn't want to, so don't pressure her," I said and wrapped my arms around her protectively. She put her head on my shoulder and snuggled up close to me. I held her hand and gently squeezed it reassuringly. We were at Ellie's grandfather's beach house, and everyone decided to gather around in the living room. Ellie poured tequila into shot glasses and passed it on to the rest of us. "I think I am gonna turn in," Millie
Millie's P.O.V. After a nice long day at the beach, we went back to the hotel. Hayden grabbed me before I had the chance to go to the bathroom or change. God, what am I going to do with this guy? "Alone at last," Hayden smirked. "What are you planning to do about it?" I pretended to look scared. "Oh, I don't know. I guess you are about to find out," he said and pressed his lips on mine. I grabbed him by the neck and pulled him closer to deepen the kiss. His hands searched throughout my body, sending a tingling sensation all over it. I was already turned on from watching him lying on the beach shirtless, so I was hardly in the mood to protest. "Hayden....I..." I tried to speak in a hoarse whisper, but he kissed me again and shut my mouth. "Shh...don't push me away this time, just let me make you feel good," he whispered, and I nodded. There was nothing I wanted more than for him to touch me. He took my swimsuit cover-up
Hayden's P.O.V. I watched Millie as she pranced around in her cute little red bikini. She must be trying to punish me, which is why she turned down my advances this morning. Dammit. I was turned on more than ever. I saw Kevin watching her from the corner of my eyes. Rage slowly built up inside me as I saw how he looked at her, but I couldn't do anything since he hadn't done anything to her. I tried to keep my anger bottled up for now. One wrong move, and I'll snap at him. His sister, I think her name is Ellie came and sat next to me. I wanted nothing to do with her or her brother, but I decided not to be rude. So I returned her smile and turned my attention back to Millie. "Hey!" she said. "Hey.." I said distractedly as I watched Millie swimming in the ocean. "So, you're dating Millie, huh?" she said. "Yeah," I said. She inched closer to me. "That's funny because she doesn't seem like your type," she smiled. I looked at
Millie's P. O. V. Hayden visited me again so we could all go to the beach. I was ecstatic. I wasn't too happy about seeing Kevin again, but at least Hayden would be there. "Hayden, stop that! We are going to be late," I groaned as he started to caress my breasts while I was getting ready. "Not if we are quick," he smirked. "Qui...quick? We aren't doing that!" I protested. "Aw, why not?" Hayden pouted. "Because they will hear us from the next room. And what if they come and walk in on us? So just get off of me before that happens," I said and pushed him off. "Fiiine, you are no fun," he said. We were going on a beach trip today, so I was trying to do some last-minute packing. But of course, Hayden has to come and mess with me. "You got everything you need?" he asked. "Yeap," I answered. "Toothbrush and toothpaste?" "Check." "Shampoo and conditioner?" he asked. "Check!" I sa
Hayden's P.O.V. "Text me as soon as your plane land," Millie ordered. "I will," I said and kissed her forehead. After having an amazing weekend with my girlfriend, it was time for me to head back home, which was really upsetting, to be honest. I didn't want to leave, but I couldn't afford to stay. I'd have to try and be more patient, I guess. "If that idiot Kevin try to do something again, you tell me right away. Got it?" I said. Next time, I'd break some teeth. I don't care if I go to jail for that. "Yessir!" she saluted. I kissed her goodbye one last time before I got on the plane. I knew Millie was a strong independent adult now, but I couldn't help but worry about her. At least Alison was with her, I guess. Or else, she would be all alone in the city with no one to rely on. I was exhausted by the time I got home. It wasn't an awfully long flight, but it felt like forever. I felt lonely as soon as I landed back home. I got too used
