***Keira's POV***It's been a week ever since I arrived at the dwelling of the Wolf less. I had no idea they formed a community of their own. They also made an Alpha for themselves, though they don't live a luxurious life like those in a pack does. And I think I understand why. I looked out of the window in the room I had been confined in for over a week now. Not that I couldn't leave the room, but whenever I went out, I couldn't help but notice that they were pleased to see me. And I can't blame them for it. Their attitude towards me is due to what they had suffered at the hands of the pack wolves. While I was thinking about the life of the Wolf less, I suddenly heard a knock on the door. I quickly turned around from the window where I sat. “Miss Keira, may I come in?”Richard? That is the head of the Wolfless, also known as their Alpha asked. “Please come in,” I replied, still sitting by the window. The door flew open and Richard walked in. Richard has the stature of a true
**Keira's POV***I stood in front of the fairly large crowd. They were all staring at me in a daze. I could tell that they didn't believe a word of what the witch had just said. I do not blame their disbelief. I also have a hard time believing what I heard was true. If that's the case, doesn't this mean, I have to become a leader to these people? "Great seer, we have never doubted your words before now. And so far, you've been a heart help to us all. For this reason, we have every reason to believe that whatever you do, is for our own good. But presently, we can't help but doubt the situation. Please do not blame us for it,” an elderly man said on behalf of the others, who nodded their heads supporting what he said. “If you believed my words before now, then this is more reason why you should believe what I'm trying to tell you now.”Though I was scared 9f what they think of me, if the Seer was truly right about what she said about me, then I have every reason to back up her claim.
***Keira's POV***I waited patiently for Richard and the others who went to town, as I was curious about what the seer said to me. I wanted to know just how they managed to go into the outside world and get what they wanted. A few hours later, Richard and the men who went out with him came back in a truck, carrying plenty of foodstuffs. Everyone seemed happy at their return and sang their praises. I haven't been here for long, but seeing how loving they are makes me want to fit into the crowd. It's not like there's anything stopping me from doing so. “Miss Keira, you're here,” Richard said, walking over to meet me. I smiled at him and walked over to him as well. “You're welcome. I must say you're doing an impressive job here.”“I'm delighted to be praised by you,” he uttered with a bright smile. “Uhm, may I have a word with you, please?”“Yes, please,” he led the way whilst I followed behind him. “How long have you been going to the outside world to get supplies?”He turned arou
***Kiera's POV***“Miss Keira, it's too dangerous. I need you over here so you could protect them since you have a wolf.”This was worse. I don't even know how to fight with my physical form, not to talk about my wolf form. What if there are many, will I truly be able to defend them? What if they end up getting hurt simply because I can't save them like they thought I would?“Miss Keira, I know you're worried right now. But I want you to trust yourself. You need to be courageous, don't be dismayed.”I looked up at Richard, and when I saw determination in his eyes, I knew that I had nothing to be afraid about. All my life, I've lived in hiding. If this will be the only thing I can do before I die, then I'll be glad I could help.“So don't worry about me then. I'll take care of our people as best as I can. But you must come back alive as well.”“I surely Will,” with that, he walked away. What should I do now? Just then, I thought of seer Abigail. I need to go to her and inform her of
**Keira's POV**We ran into the woods without knowing where we were headed. It's the break of dawn and no one has rested. And that was because we didn't have the time to, especially when we were chased by some rogues who didn't relent in their pursuit of us. After running for hours, the seer advised everyone to take a break underneath a tree. Everyone complied, including me. I looked in the direction of the surviving soldiers. Some were bleeding profusely on the arm. Good thing there's a healer among us who helped patch them up. I was on the lookout since I was the only one who could sense them. Fortunately, as of the moment, I didn't perceive them around. I prayed in the silence of my heart for them not to show up. It was morning already and everyone was pretty exhausted. The soldiers are all injured. I'm uncertain if they can hold up another attack. I, on the other hand, sustained a cut on my arm which has healed pretty nicely. This was so shocking for me because I still did n
**Drake's POV***“Useless! You're all useless! What do you mean you can't find her? Are you trying to tell me that she disappeared without a trace again? Is that it?” I asked in anger. “Forgive us, Alpha. We'll keep on searching for her until we find her.”“Are you serious with me right now? How long have you been searching, huh? Just how long!” I yelled using my Alpha tone, and they all went cowering in fear. “Brothers, what's going on?” Ethan asked as he walked into my study room.”“You're back, Austin. Where is she?” Ethan asked. “We couldn't find her yet,” he replied. “What? You can't find her yet? If that's the case, why did you return? You could have stayed in the woods until you found her. Why the fuck did you come back without Keira!” Ethan yelled out. He picked up Austin from the chair and dragged him out of my office. At this point, I was extremely frustrated that I didn't even know what to say at this point. I was just too confused and mad. My wolf has gone berserk. E
***Keira's POV***After journeying for a week. We decided to find a place to settle. Everyone was worn out. The children are tired and hungry, the women are not in a good system either. The men are frustrated because they can't find enough fruits to feed. Not even wild animals make meat. Seeing them suffer this way brought tears to my eyes. I wish there was a way I can help them. Every so often I wonder if they don't find me useless. I was their hope, yet, I'm just as helpless as they are. I wish I could help them find comfort. “Miss Keira, may I have a word with you, please me? Seer Abigail said. “Yes, please.”She walked over to where I stood watching out for intruders. “Since we've been journeying for weeks now, I thought it wise for us to find a place to dwell. I mean, for the past three days now we've not encountered any rogue wolves. I think we are finally in a safe environment.”“That's what I think, too.”“You also think this place is safe enough for us to settle?”“I'm n
***Keira's POV***“What do you think about what she said, Dark?”“I think she's lying,” the other said while watching intensely. I instantly went wide in shock. Were they reading my mind ? How the hell did they know I was lying about what I had earlier said?“Search the area, we must find what she's hiding!” He commanded. Just who was he? He was very good at finding out people's deception. Just then, he suddenly walked closer to me. “Listen, you had better not be found wanting, else I'm not sure if I'll keep you alive,” he whispered with a steady voice which made me blink with my heart racing hard and fast. My goodness! They will be found out soon. Moon goddess, can't you help us just once? Everyone is tired of escaping. “Please don't kill them?”Wow…seems she's really got something up her sleeves.”“You don't know how to lie, do you?” He asked, still staring into my eyes. “You fucking look familiar, but I can't seem to wrap my hands around where I've seen you before,” he whisper
