“Father, I found him again like you said, but we have a problem. His human along with the others promised to protect him. It might be hard to bring him back home, especially without the witch that brought him out,” I said as I
MARGERY
ZAIRE Margery never made it back to school after she left the classroom. Ximena was not able to get anything out of her except that she needed fresh air, and I was concerned. It was lunch hour, I picked up my food tray and sat down on my usual spot in the cafeteria.
CONNOR Louve was inside the clinic, trying to heal from the attack earlier. Every nurse and doctor were at her disposal and even my mom offered to help them. I was outside of the room, pacing back and forth. The pack maids offered me food, but I had lost my appetite.
ZAIRE “Yes, you did it princess,” mom cheered as I walked for the first time. Dad recorded everything, and I could see myself, that tiny baby, clapping my hands. One minute, they turned their backs on me and I looked out the glass sliding door, a tall figure.
CONNOR As soon as she fell asleep, I slowly got out of the bed, careful not to wake her up. I walked out of the room an
ZAIRE
CONNOR The air felt so good on my fur. Ruelle seemed to be having fun, and Amoux who was skeptical at first, let loose and decided to enjoy the moment with our friends. They were both howling and running as fast as they could, jumping over fallen trees and shrubs. The woods were really dense and a wrong step could end with one of us flat on our faces. She suddenly jumped us, biting and scratching each other playfully. I had to admit, it was fun, but it was not the same as running with Louve. With her, it was just a beautiful affair and Amoux and I loved that. Ximena was carefree and fun. Leonard must love that part of her, and I couldn’t be any happier for them. We hid behind a tree and shifted, putting our clothes on and sitting on the grass, admiring the beauty of nature. “This is really nice. I’m sorry I scratched you. Zaire won’t be too happy to see that,” Ximena said, giving me a sheepish smile. “Don’t worry. I’ll talk to her. She’ll understand it was j
MARGERY “Margery, I need you close to me,” Mom said as the witches and wizard surrounded the town to put the shield that would protect the pack lands, most importantly our village. I stood next to her and lifted my hands, closing my eyes as I focused on strengthening the shield while the wizards kept chanting the spell that was placing it. The strength was overwhelming, making me groan in pain, but I was able to hold on and let them finish the process. “Good job, honey. That should keep them away for a while at least,” Mom said, hugging me while kissing my head. Dad approached us and looked at me with that intensity in his eyes. He was strict, but loving and everytime I would see this side of him, I would be afraid that I had done something wrong. “I’m very proud of you, my little witch,” he said, smiling at me as he cupped my cheeks to kiss my forehead. “Thank you, Dad. I don’t want to disappoint you both. I promise I’ll keep working hard for the coven,” I
