Babe's POV
As excited as I was for successfully leaving school, I was also sad at the fact that Hunter was that way and I still am this way. I held my palm in my hand and flashes of images; the number of times I'd done something like this appeared before my eyes.
Sometimes I don't want to, but I just can't control it.
I could've called Pinky to drive me home but I didn't want to because I'm still pretty mad at her.
I took out my phone and continued following the directions from the Google map to be able to make my way to the bus station.
My phone suddenly started ringing and I grinned once I realized it was Fred.
"Freddy boy," I grinned widely.
"I hate you, Babara," he replied, laughing. He knew I hated being called Babara as much as he hated being called Freddy boy.
"How was your first day?" He asked
"Not good. I almost had a fight with a grade one b*tch who ended up getting me drenched in cold soda. So, I'm on my way home as we speak"
"My God Babe. You should have been more careful" He advised.
"I didn't know what came over me. I just thought it wouldn't be fair if I'm to stand up from the seat for her" I explained.
"I'm glad you're fine. They let you leave school just like that,"
I laughed, "More like I did something"
"Don't tell me you did it again Babe. What the hell is wrong with you?" He yelled from the other end of the line.
I couldn't give him a response because of the car that was honking terribly at my back. I turned to see it was a black sleek car, with tinted glasses. I couldn't see who was driving the car but it was scary.
"I'll call you back Fred,"
"Is everything okay, Babe?" He asked worriedly.
"Yeah, everything is good. Just let me call you back," I dropped the call without listening to his response.
Staying rooted at a spot for minutes, my brain was calculating for me the next step to take.
Run, Babara
I increased my pace and as soon as I did, the car started moving towards me. The faster I walked, the faster it moved. I broke into a run and the driver increased his pace.
Am I getting kidnapped?
You know the "the more you way, the harder you are to be kidnapped" word can't work out for me because my weight is below 50kg.
The driver suddenly rolled down the glass and I realized it was Fucking Hunter Webster.
"That was fun," he grinned. I wanted to flip him the middle finger but I stopped myself and continued walking away.
"Did that scare you?" He asked again.
"Like you really care. Wasn't that your intention?" I angrily cried out as I was out of breathe.
"Wow. You can really read my mind,"
"Since when did you become such a psychopath?" I replied.
I continued walking away and he kept on following me."You know once, I killed a cat because it won't stop crying at my window"
"I'm not interested in your tale"
"I've learned the art of peeling the skin off a man's body," I turned to look at him in disgust.
Even if he might be kidding, that is still disgusting.
"But never will I use a razor to cut myself. I guess I'm not the only one who's a psychopath" He began laughing hysterically.
"You're crazy," I said.
"Get into the car, Babara Arnold. Let me drop you off at home"
"No. I know you might have another agenda because you obviously don't want me to act as I know you. So you asking me to enter your car might actually lead to my death" I hissed.
"What if I drive off to your house to tell your aunt about your little secret? I've got one on you now, Babe" He threatened
"Be gone satan. Stop threatening me. I don't even know you"
Before I could turn to walk away, I tripped over a stone and ended up face flat on the hard floor. I groaned in pain as my wounded hand made contact with another stone.
I sat up and realized my knee was bleeding already. Even my back ached so badly.
A shadow appeared on my body. I didn't need to look up to know who it was.
"What do you want? Can't you just go away from here?" I yelled.
He touched my face lightly as a look that I can't decipher crossed his face. He placed his lips lightly behind my ear and whispered.
"If I were you, I'd be careful with getting my blood out at every spot. We don't know if there are vampires lurking around the corner waiting for a host to feed on and if that happens to you, you'll become a pet, your body will no longer be yours and finally, it'll be burned when you're no longer useful. Run Babara before you get killed"
"What are you saying?"
"You should've entered the car when I offered but now I'll love to see you run" He smirked. His iris that was previously green suddenly turned black, so black that it scared me.
The fear that ran through my body made me shiver and rooted at a spot. It was as if his eyes were looking into my soul and not at me. Still shaking, I stood up and began leaping with my wounded knee towards the bus station.
I didn't dare to look back to check if he was still there. I was half leaping, half running. Luckily enough, a bus was already waiting at the station and immediately I jumped into it, paid and I walked in to sit.
As soon as I sat down, someone pushed me into the inner seat and again, it was Hunter.
I was terrified.
"What do you want?" I asked, with a shaking voice
"You,"
He replied. I didn't say anything to him. I knew if I responded, that would give him more power to torment me. I pulled my bag closer to my body and looked out of the window.
"I'll be at your house by eight. Come down by then, I need you to follow me somewhere" He suddenly said. I turned and glared at him.
"What?" I clicked my tongue and continued to ignore him.
"You'll regret it if you don't listen," he growled.
"I love regrets. Don't you have a girlfriend to take with you? Or friends to hang out with. Just restrain from frustrating my life" I begged.
"I love to see your pathetic side. It gives me great happiness. How about you listen to me and I'll spare your aunt your dark secret?" He threatened again.
I closed my eyes as those tears were also threatening to come down.
"What are you doing, Hunter? Why are you doing this?" I asked.
"To make you miserable" He replied.
"You know what, I already regret moving to this town because I thought it'll be different because you'll be here but no, it is the same thing with the place I'm coming from. Guess what, all it'll take is just a slash on my wrist. I know the right spot already and within a minute, I'll be gone. So, keep it coming, and when I can't take it anymore, I'll take my 'miserable' life"
I yelled and angrily pressed the button.
Within seconds, the driver stopped and I jumped off the bus and began limping towards the house that was still like a five minutes walk.
When I got home, my aunt wasn't around and I quickly washed myself in the bathroom and the uniform as well. I laid down on the bed and opened my bandage to look at my palm.
Almost at the same time, my aunt badged into the room, looking angry.
"What the hell happened in school today?" She yelled.
"Nothing important" I responded.
"Nothing important. I heard you hurt Maj at school today"
"Hurt? I did no such thing" I replied
"You broke her arm, didn't you?"
What?
"Broke her arm," I asked in confusion.
"I don't believe you. How you were able to do that is something I don't understand but believe me, Babe, you will regret this. First, we need to go apologize to the poor girl at the hospital"
"I'll do no such thing. If only there's evidence that shows that I truly broke her arm will I apologize to her" I replied stubbornly.
My aunt removed her phone from her bag and pushed it towards my face.
"Tell me Barbara, who the hell is that?" She yelled again.
I collected the phone and watched the video. I was speechless as I saw myself attacking Maj in the bathroom, hitting her head against the floor.
"Who is that Bababra? Answer my question"
Shocked, I couldn't find my voice and when I did, I replied "Me?"
Babe's POVThe next morning, I was in Pinky’s car, both ears plugged in with my earphones, I was doing all my possible best to drown out her nagging that she called instructions that I needed to follow to survive McVegas high. After much persuasion from my aunt yesterday, I finally agreed to follow her to Maj’s home after school hours and apologize for what I didn't do. I agreed after she wouldn't stop screaming though.“You need to listen to me, Babe. stop pushing me out with your thoughts” she angrily yanked the earphones away from my ear. I turned to scold her but she was already glaring at me. So, I deflated back to my seat and continued looking out of the window, without an earphone this time.“Babe,” she called out.“What?”“I know you didn't do it,”I raised my eyebrow at her. “Then why didn't you defend me when your mom was throwing those accusations at me
Babe’s POVThe most outstanding thing about my ear bleed was the fact that I couldn't feel any pain even though the blood wouldn’t stop until the nurse applied some funny-looking ointment that was strangely pale yellow.“Are you sure the ointment is safe?” I asked the nurse for the umpteenth time before leaving the school clinic.“Don’t worry you’ll be fine. It has already healed you. All you have to do is stay away from noises for the main time” She explained and I nodded.“Thank you”“You’re welcome MIss”I walked out of the clinic, sti
Hunter’s pov“Brief me about the fight that happened yesterday, I need to know those boys that destroyed my game store, '' Xavier demanded as I walked into his apartment. I hesitated for a while since I knew the consequences of actually telling him the truth. Our gang had started the fight with the other gang and one thing led to the other, the boys decided to come back with a tractor rather than a gun or their fist.“I was not actually there when the fight started but I'll get enough information from Stanley and get back to you boss”Xavier smirked at me and nodded. He picked up a glass of water and turned to face me.“Don't you dare move from that spot,” Before I cou
Babe’s POV My heartbeat was accelerated and I could feel my head pounding. It was as if a knife was on my gut that was being slowly twisted. Immediately I got back to the house, I didn't talk to anyone. I walked up to my room, locked my door, and still went on to lock myself in the bathroom. My mind was messed up. I wanted to cry but that will be a big sign of weakness that I'm not supposed to show. I swallowed hard as fear gripped me once I remembered what had happened. I don't know if I should tell anyone about what I saw not. People would think I'm crazy. To even think right now, is a challenge for me. My heart was pounding in my ear and I had to stop myself from screaming out my tears.
Babe's POVThe weekend was finally over and it was time for a brand new week. Throughout the remaining days of the previous week, I feigned sickness and told my aunt I won't be attending classes. Luckily enough for me, she had business trips she needed to make and that made her fall for my lie.Even though Pinky knew something was up, she decided to ignore it and still went on to get my assignments for me and even submitted them.I stood in front of McVegas' high School gates, dreading going inside the school. I don't want to meet up with anyone crazy today, God. Please, clear my ….."What are you doing? Why are you out there alone?" Someone asked while resting a hand on my shoulder. I turne
The cafeteria was eerily silent. No one was saying anything to anyone but all eyes were on my table. I looked up to see Ivy and Tommy looking uncomfortable and I could see the fear on Ivy's face."So, why did you skip school last week?" Hunter asked as he turned to face me. A leg was placed on the bench he was sitting on."It's none of your business," I replied angrily."It is my business as long as it is your business. We had that agreement the day I helped you out, remember?" He touched my chin with his finger and I quickly pushed his hand away."We never had such an agreement," I denied."Should I give you a little reminder of how it happened?" "Why are you doing this? Why are you here?""Isn't it obvious? I'm here to get paid back for helping you. See, I'm like the mythical nine-tailed fox, if I owe you something, I'll make sure I pay back and if you owe me something, I'll still make sure you pay back," I hissed at his stupid exp
"Forget I said that"Hunter requested and I slightly nodded. I could feel my face burning hot from his words as I tried as much as possible to shove the words at the back of my mind and not think about it.His eyes were settled on his bike as I stood fixated at a spot. Hunter suddenly pulled at my hand and when his hand touched mine, the feeling was surreal and unexplainable."Get on the bike. Let me take you home," he commanded. The command in his voice almost made me change my mind. But still, I stood at a spot."Don't make me repeat myself," he growled loudly.I did as he had said and climbed on the backseat, sitting a
Babe's POV The gate leading to the Webster's home was opened wide for me and as I walked in, I was in awe of how beautiful the home was. It was nothing as extravagant as my aunt's home but still, it was beautiful. I walked up to the front door and pressed the ring again. I tapped my hand against my thigh as I waited for the door to be opened by the voice that answered as soon as I pressed the bell. "Hi, who are you?" A beautiful woman opened the door, beaming at me. "Hello, I'm Barbara and I'm here to see Hunter. I don't know if I'm in the right place." I replied, introducing myself. The lady's jaw dropped open and she kept on sta
Hi everyone, this is an alternative Ending to the book. This will pick up right from the moment when Babe and Hunter almost lost their lives because of Xavier. Thanks for reading.Babe's POV"Finally, I'm home,"My eyes fluttered open at some point and a shining light penetrated it.I wanted to raise my hand to block the light but I realized it wasn't possible."Barbara Arnold, can you hear me?" A voice called out my name and I looked down to see a man in a white coat at the edge of the bed.Where am I?The
Babe's POV (FIVE YEARS LATER)Paradise Creek was just a regular small town in Hamilton and this, I found out after finally visiting the town in December the next year. My mom finally let me visit since I already finished high school and I was lucky enough to graduate as my school's valedictorian. When I got to Paradise Creek, the first thing I did was visit Pinky's grave to get rid of the doubt in my mind and after four years, the tears came rolling. She had been buried beside my aunt in Paradise Creek.I visited where the school would have been and found out it was just a regular high school, there was nothing extravagant about it. There were only small houses in the town as it was majorly occupied by the older part of the population. My visit did not yield anything good,
Babe's POVMy eyes snapped open as beads of sweat run down my face, I lifted my top to clean it off my face only to discover my top was also drenched in sweat. My heart was pounding heavily.I stood up and opened my window to allow fresh morning air as I grumbled about whoever it was that closed my window at a season like this. The sun shone brightly through the window and I had to first block the sun rays from entering my eyes.Could it be my aunt or Pinky?I stopped in my tracks when I discovered the room was different. It wasn't the room I was using in my aunt's place. Why does this place look like my previous room at my mom's house?I stumbled into the bathroom and realized it
Babe's POV Tommy and Pinky soon returned back to Hera's mansion and when they did, Pinky's face was swollen. She had obviously cried her eyes out. She was a pitiful little cousin of mine and I could understand how she felt. We all sat down at the dining area to goof around and make jokes. We talked about a lot of things and the conversation of Pinky's friendship with Maj came up and my cousin had to explain herself. "I didn't befriend her because I wanted to," She stomped her feet on the ground. "You were always with her even if she only waved at you. It was as if you were worshipping the ground she walked on," Pinky groaned and glared at Tommy.
Hunter's POV"Hey, Princess,""Is everything okay?""Where are you?""I'm at Hera's place""Can you stay there till I get back? I need to be somewhere important,""What's going on?""Stanny got kidnapped and we need to save him,""Are you going alone?""No, Princess. Arnold and my dad are with me,""That's better. Go safe your friend,""I love you,"
Babe's POVLiam and Ivy's reason for not writing the exams and attending school like we did later became clear. We wrote the last exams on Friday and by Monday, most of us were jubilating, thinking the attacks have stopped and we could now live a normal life until when Monday morning came and two students were killed before I got to school did we realize we were nowhere near finished. The principal announced immediately that the school was on total closure and every student should stay at home. The final exams for senior year students would be taken at home.We were all back to square one, online schooling and finally, online exams. There was also a curfew around town. We weren't allowed to be outside before seven in the morning and after seven at nig
Babe's POV"Someone looks delectable," Pinky gushed as we walked towards Hera who was waiting by her locker.Well, the school had been closed down for about three months and it was only opened back just so we could take our exams. Everyone has been taking online classes with the help of teachers. It was as if the whole town was on lockdown. No one wanted to leave their home in fear of the vampires and parents could only agree to school opening again because the Alpha had ensured every student's safety."You girls are looking really good,"Hera complimented and Pinky could only blush."You can say that about Pinky but not me. I look terrible, trust me"
Babe's POVThe first thing I saw once I opened my eyes again was another white ceiling above my head. This time, instead of screams, I could hear murmurs, jubilation, and joy all around me.I tried standing up but I couldn't. When I looked down at what was stopping me, it was my hand locked to the bed. I frowned at the realization.Soon enough, someone brought a key and removed the heavy chains from my hand. I sat up and that was when I saw everyone around me. It was my father, my aunt, Pinky, Hera, even Tommy and Ivy who were all…..I stopped as I looked around me and I also realized that I was in a hospital room. Why am I here?
Babe's POV"Wow, I didn't know Hunter Webster still existed in this part of the world," I admonished as soon as I saw him in class. The teacher hadn't arrived as I walked in and I was also surprised to see Hunter sitting in class already. He smiled at me."Why do you reek of sarcasm so early in the morning?"He placed a quick kiss on my lips."I missed you," he confessed."Well, I didn't miss you. Moreover, I thought about breaking your neck a few times," I kicked his leg and he jumped backward."Come on, Princess. Don't be mad at me,"He pulled me into his body.
