Chapter 6

last update Last Updated: 2022-07-19 12:32:25

I was woken up by the sound of people fighting. I grunted and forced myself to get up and see what is the commotion all about. I peeked through a small gap in the door that I opened. Again, there were people fighting but this time it was two women.

"Hey, Clarise. What's happening." I said still groggy from my sleep. "Two minors got caught for fighting in an alley and it seems that both are from rich families and have 'Karens' for moms," she said as she air quoted the Karens which made both of us laugh.

After a while and what felt like the longest fight I have ever witnessed, both sides settled on having both children go on community cleaning.  Clarise said it was just another normal nighttime arrest.

When things seemed to have eased up I went back to the sleeping quarters and took out my dagger since I needed to reach my one-day, one arrest quota. "Let's go!" I whispered to myself as I tried to fill myself with confidence that I could do it as I was very nervous for my first day on my special mission.

I then leaped out of the building into an alley where I detected a magic source. It was very obvious where magic was in this world since there were only a very few of us magic bearers.

I sighed before I sneaked up on that attributer. I was taken aback when she fought forcibly battling me with kicks and punches if I hadn't known better I would've thought he was a werewolf with the immense power he has since we would detect werewolves because of their wolves as it's also a magical being, but other than that we can't sense them.

Those series of attacks were then by a blast of magic I was flown towards the wall. I groaned when my back met the cold wall just right then I whispered a restriction spell then whirlwind magic swirled around the limbs of that bearer.

This time he groaned and whispered a cuss word. With that, I could only smirk at his pain. The whirlwind slowly crept through his body until it almost swallowed the unknown bearer whole. That's when I held my amulet to seek advice from an elder in the ministry of magic telepathically, but I was surprised when the leader of the ministry of magic, himself, answered my call.

"Your highness, Princess Lilan, it's a pleasure to hear from you again." The leader said, sounding genuinely happy to hear from me again. "Oh yes, same here too your highness. may I know what spell I should cast to send hind over so I can complete my task?" I asked trying to focus on the guy I'm fighting whilst still minding my manner while talking to the leader.

"Oh, I guess I have forgotten to orient you, my bad. It's just the simple transporter spell dear." He said, quite nonchalantly for such a difficult spell he told me to do right at this moment. 'Simple, Huh? Guess that's why he's the leader of the ministry of magic. Only he could say that a very advanced spell is an easy spell, what more is that I have to transport him from one world to another.' I just smirked at the thought.

"Okay, I understand, Your Highness. Thank you." I finally said going back to that telepathic section of my brain. "Yes, Farewell then, Princess Lilan. May you have the best luck!" He said in a hurry. Of course, he'd be busy. He's the leader of the ministry of magic after all. "Yes, Farewell to you too, your highness."

As our telepathic connection ended, I started chanting the spell which made the mysterious man lose all color on his face and turn pale as a paper. Seconds later into the spell, the mysterious man suddenly started quivering and slowly started to dissipate into the cold winds.

I sighed. 'Finally done for the day. A job well done Lilan.' Phoebe suddenly said. Though we've been contacting like this for nearly six years now, I am still surprised by her voice in my head from time to time. 'Might as well go back for the day now.' I said telepathically.

I went back through the window that I left open and just when I was almost done changing my clothes when Clarise opened the door to check on me.

"Hey, kid we're getting breakfast what do you wanna eat?" She said while checking in on me. "Oh, it's fine I don't normally eat breakfast," I said. "You sure?" She asked quite surprised. "Yeah. Thanks for asking though."

"Are you going somewhere?" She said eyeing my outfit. "Oh. just some morning jog and maybe I'll end up finding a job I can apply to." I lied. "Sure. Be careful on your way back then." Then she turned her heel towards the door and was about to leave.

"By the way, I just want you to know that you could always stay here for as long as you want. The guys there ended up liking your company here and that you were really-- as what you kids these days say-- cool as hell back when you saved me there plus you're still a minor so you couldn't really go anywhere much" She said smiling. "OK. Thank you again, Clarise." I said smiling.

"Stop saying thank you over and over again. I just did what everybody would've done." She said surprisingly genuine for the sentence she just said. "Not everyone would've done the same thing you know. Some people would've just given me some couple of money and or worse they would've just chased me out saying I was some kind of annoyance or nuisance..."

She just smiled in understanding and left. One thing I've learned observing people when I went out earlier or even here in the station, this may be another world, there might not be any all-out wars here, but humans are selfish and sly beings and because of this there are some fights they have to fight just to survive. And unfortunately, it's a fight much crueler than that of a war.

After several months~After observing the mortal world for some time now, I could say, I have already adjusted to their lifestyle. And all I could say about is humans are already complicated as it is, they even want to complicate the simplest matter. *sigh* I got lost in my train of thoughts when Clarise came in."Hey, you okay? You seem out of it these days.""Yeah ... It's just that I'm nervous about the upcoming entrance examination for the school that I applied to go to," I said half lying. "Well okay then. Good luck later by the way!"And yes, I have decided that I will go to a mortal school while I'm here since I found out that mortals have also been studying their behaviors and the ways how their brains work, I really wanted to study more about it and also, since I've saved up some money from working in a restaurant near here and I was also considered some kind of 'stay-in intern' here in the station I also got money there I also sold some pieces of jewelry that I brought with

I was smiling from ear to ear the whole while we ate. I just could not contain my excitement about living together with Clarise! Passionately waiting for the time to go home. "Clarise, excuse me but, I would like to talk to Lilan for a second," Ophelia said after we finished eating."Why, yes of course. That would be fine. Then I shall go to the bathroom for a bit then, while you both talk." Clarise said while excusing herself. "Yes, that would be very much appreciated!" Ophelia said thanking her for the privacy given to our conversation.I knew from the tone they were both talking in that they were trying to be as polite as possible towards each other, and I couldn't help but smirk at them as there was no need for them to be so polite and formal as they both will be seeing each other a lot now that Clarise has become my legal guardian as she's taking me under her wing. When Clarise was now out of ear reach, our little meeting about my job as an MMDT Officer started.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

'Impudent dumb bitch! How could you not even think about that!' I said to myself in a whisper-hiss tone reprimanding myself. *sigh* 'Phoebe! can you help me here? Please activate the invisibility spell.' I said finally giving up.'Yes, Princess. Good luck on sneaking out Lilan.' Phoebe said her voice filled with a brim of amusement. 'Ah, yes. I'll be needing all the good luck wishes in the world.' I took a deep breath and chanted the spell.I jumped off the opened window carefully trying to not bump into any of the items and appliances near the window. Once I got on the ground it was an easy feat afterward and I just simply carried out my mission for the night. He groaned as he fell to the floor after I hit him hard. The bloody bastard deserved it though. He was foolish and ignorant to even try to piss me off. "If ever in the future you so even try to piss me off or even just disrespect me, you're going to feel a pain far more than that you feel right now!" I said angrily at him.I heard him chuckle lightly under his breath."Hey Kid--" He said pain still evident in his voice. "Don't call me a kid I'm already 18 I'm an adult physically, mentally, emotionally, and by law!" "Okay, okay now. You said I can't disrespect you, now hear me out respect is something you need to earn." He said trying to sound oh so mature when in reality he's the exact opposite of it. "And so is disrespect. I didn't say anything yet but you already started blabbing about some sort of bullshit nonsense!" I said. I felt Clarise hold my arm to tell me to stop. He should be thankful to Clarise if not he would've already died."Okay, whatever you say!" He said as he raise

When I got home, I ended up crying myself to sleep. The moment I woke up and got ready for classes, I ended up having bloated eyes due to my dumb self crying. Which just made Clarise and Vinny(Clarise's daughter who is about my age) worry about me a lot and led to a nonstop hot-seat interview which wouldn't have stopped if I didn't have classes that day so, thank goddess I had them. And as time went on, in the daytime I had those little banter moments with Xander that I have grown to love. For Example, there was this time when me and him were tasked to buy some snacks while there weren't any civilians yet at the station, and as he has finished the most paper workload in the rest of them, he ended up the one doing all the grocery work. He fought with whatever snacks we should pick, that jerk being the selfish ass that he is actually got some great taste, the snacks that he wanted to pick were those that I liked. Once they arrived, they were instantly met by the piercing gazes of the kingdom leaders, all of which were Lilan's close friends. The worst of them was Lilan's best friend and former mate's glares. "You!" Ryan growled. "What the fuck are you doing here, much less with that asshole who, more or less, ordered Wind's death." He shouted. Grief and anger were much evident in his expression. He was trying hard not to just shift and kill the dark lord. The dark lord whistled in amusement at his fury. "Now, now. Ryan how about let's all calm down and be civil here? I did not come here for a fight, I come in peace. I'm just escorting my son here." The dark lord said gently, asserting Ryan's anger. "Be civil?! Xander's POV"Welcome back, my son!" The dark lord, my father cheered. "W-where? How? Why?" I stammered. I had so many questions I don't even know where to start. I cleared my throat before continuing. "First and foremost, I want, no, I need you to stop the war right this instant. Lilan, my girlfriend, is fighting in that war right at this moment." I said. "Wait, wait. Lilan? You don't mean Her highness princess, well now Queen Olivia Lilan Wind, right?" He said seemingly confused. "Yes, that's her," I confirmed."Damn it." I heard him cuss under his breath. "How did you get mixed up with her that you ended up becoming her lover?" He asked. "We met back on Earth. She worked intern at a police station. And things just kind of happened." I briefly explained. "Well, would you look at that? My sworn enemy's daughter might just become my daughter-in-law. How ironic." He said sarcastically looking bitter like he just tasted venom. "That bi-- that kid, she's always been an annoying know-it

In every whip of your head you'll see dozens, if not, hundreds of bodies now a mix of warlocks, witches, wolves, and fairies. Hope has been long gone in the eyes of soldiers. This has come too far. When night falls and the light of the moon comes and shines over us, that is the time we are being pushed back and even now we can't do anything. We witches and fairies are sorcerers that take life from the sun, while warlocks and werewolves take them from the moon. Our forces are weakening. Hope has been long gone in the eyes of the soldiers. I can't let this continue on. I can't let my kingdom, my world suffer when I could obviously do something for them. I must do something. When the day came, the most I could do was pep talk them into having the will to even fight and not just run off to the field to commit suicide. Encouragement did no

Xander's POVWhat is this place? Wow! it's so beautiful! When I followed Lilan to this weird portal of some sort, I never imagined this would be what was on the other side! I am still following Lilan when we reached some gigantic, medieval period type of castle. This must be the castle that she lives in. She did mention she was a princess of some kingdom. I heard some faint whispers when I looked back I saw some little blue fairies, they shined beautifully when reflected by the sun. They looked like Ice, no, glaciers. Glacier Fairies!WOW, just magnificent! Lilan continued walking straight ahead but I stopped following her at some distance from the castle, still making sure not to be seen by the guards. When she reached the courtyard and was finally noticed by the maids, she greeted them so humbly and happily. By the looks of it, I think even before she came to Earth she's always been kind. And here I was thinking that she came to our world because of some attitude problems and was c

My future kingdom. The other side of the passage opened up in the thick forest of ice, found in between the Water and Air kingdoms. When I finally landed both my feet on the other side of the portal, I could hear the familiar buzz of the wings of fairies. The scent of snow came rushing into my nose, carrying the smell of trees and magic.I could feel the peering eyes of the little ice fairies watching me. Well, I couldn't blame them really. It wasn't every day that you would a dimension skipper coming back from whatever world they came from.I chuckled lightly as I heard the faint whispers of them discussing who I was. They said in whispers in their tiny pitched voices. So I was right, after all, there was indeed war coming. A blood bath. I continu
