Kail’s home was much bigger than Silje expected.

Squeak.

After they got off his car, they opened the giant metal front door and walked in. Silje was greeted by the luxurious and giant reception area and the servants were waiting with their heads bowed respectfully in front of the marble stairs.

Wood floors, extravagant decorations, and expensive furniture.

The living areas were surrounded by huge windows overlooking the gorgeous garden.

It was an intimidating and elegant castle. Silje could see the swans swimming in the garden pond through the windows. Inside the house, calm classical music was playing. All the lights were on, almost blinding Silje.

Suddenly, they heard the ominous clicks of the high heels coming down the stairs. When Silje looked up, it was a woman with platinum-blond hair in a white muslin dress and a fur shawl.

“Kail…!”

Her voice echoed as she walked towards them slowly.

The servants giggled, making Ingrid grit her teeth in embarrassment and anger. As she walked away with a limp, the servants finally erupted into loud laughter. They were laughing at how Silje and Kail made Ingrid look stupid. When Kail reached the top of the stairs, he gently let Silje down. Looking at him knowingly, she said to him, “Nice performance, but I can walk on my own, you know.”She raised her eyebrows at him. What happened so far was unforgettable. Kail smiled and hugged her quietly.“Let’s go to my room.”Silje glanced at him and as they started to walk, she said to him, “I can’t breathe when you are hugging me this tight. Loosen up a little, will you?”Kail grinned.“Why aren’t you asking me anything about what just happened?”“I am curious, but it doesn’t seem like you want to explain.”Kail nodded and Silje joked, “By the wa

When she didn’t say a word, Kail turned toward her and hugged her tight. He didn’t ask her why she didn’t say anything. She didn’t pity him or feel sorry for him. It would have been nice for her to console him, but Silje couldn’t think of the right words to say. She herself had a cold life surrounded by merciless people, so she had no warm words to offer him.“…”However, she was trembling, and she couldn’t stop. Silje felt cold and as she looked into his frozen eyes, she realized the truth. His eyes were empty just like hers. They both had gone though so much in life already. Growing up in the frozen northern land, Kail’s eyes showed the desolation from living in it. They resembled each other so much and that was why she couldn’t turn away from him.He was her other half. They looked at each other for a very long time.“Why are you shivering? Are you cold?&rdquo

On the last day before the winter break, Kail didn’t come to school.“I have to go to Stockholm to attend a business inspection. It won’t take long.”To others, he sounded blunt, even cold, but he quickly added in a warm and sweet tone he used only for her.“At most, it will take two days. I will come back soon. And of course, my assistant will drive you back and forth from school, home, and work. I must say though that I don’t like this at all, leaving you like this.”“Don’t even go there. Your assistant driving me around? Are you crazy? I never asked you to do something like that, so don’t bother. I don’t need you to put a spy on me.”As always, he laughed quietly at her blunt refusal.A genuine smile that only Silje got to see. Unfortunately, she couldn’t see it at this very moment because they were talking on the phone. But she could imagine what kind of face h

When Silje opened her eyes, she was still in the same moving car.It felt like a dream as she saw the dark fur trees passing by out the window. People were walking on the streets covered in snow just like any other days, but to Silje, it seemed different somehow.Tik tock tik tock. She could hear her watch and with every tick, her body felt a sharp pain. She tried to move her arms, but they would not listen to her.“…!”She could not even move any of her fingers. She also couldn’t feel her body at all.Laughing at her discomfort and confusion, Ingrid laughed at her.“Hahaha, hahahaha…. Haha.”Ingrid continued to laugh, making Silje remember where she was. But before she could do or say anything, Silje lost consciousness again.Grenchen Hospital.Silje saw where she was, but she was still helpless. The glass hit Ingrid on the face, and her forehead started bleeding. Silje shuddered angrily as she screamed, “How dare you! You are crazy! You will be punished. Do you really think you can get away with things like this? I don’t know how great you think your family is, but… How could a human being do something like this…”Silje shrieked loudly, but Ingrid didn’t even blink. She replied, “I see that you are no ordinary girl. Of course, I should have known. Kail would never date someone normal.”Wiping her forehead with a white lace handkerchief, Ingrid waved off her bodyguard and smiled coldly.“The important thing is that your womb has been cleaned. You may feel sad now, but you will thank me later. This is the best for everyone. Rolf is so weak and emotional, especially when it concerns Kail. I have to be the strong logical one here. By the way, the owner of this hospital is my friend, and that is why you

At Silje’s outburst, Olga exploded, “Yes! I am saying that! I don’t care about you! Did you really think you would be accepted if you gave birth to Rolf Bruntland’s grandchild? All I feel is appreciation for Ingrid. She took care of everything. If she didn’t, I would’ve done it myself.”Olga’s words hurt, but Silje didn’t believe Olga meant what she said.It was because Olga’s red eyes were filling up with tears.Silje thought that perhaps her adoptive mother felt more hurt than herself. No mother in the world would feel fine if their daughter got hurt. Silje felt even more sorry and guilty.Panting angrily, Olga handed Silje a plane ticket.“I won’t say anymore. Silje, you remember your aunt who lives in New York, right? Aunt Skina? She sends us Christmas cards every year. Go live with your aunt. I have already confirmed with her that you are going. It has been taken care of.&

Frank and Valter looked shocked and anxious as Silje’s arms and legs stiffened and whitened.“Let’s take your sister to the hospital right now, Valter. I will get the car ready, so help her out.”Frank also seemed concerned for once and he decided to go with them as well.In the hospital, Silje received a sedative and saline. She was released the next day and by the time she arrived back home, it was dark in the house. It was broad daylight, but Olga had all the curtains down.“…”Silje knew things were not alright, and she was correct. Olga, who was sitting in the kitchen by herself, called for her.“Come and have a seat, Silje.”Olga didn’t even ask about her hospital visit. She just seemed determined as she asked, “What is your plan for the future?”Without waiting for Silje’s answer, Olga continued, “Frankly, I don’t even want

She had the lights turned off and only the desk lamp was on.These were her last words to him:– I don’t ever want to see you again. A lot has happened between us and although the memories of our time together could be remembered as sweet to one person, they will always cause me pain and heartache. I don’t want to feel such intense emotions about a person anymore. I don’t want to waste my time being drained by these feelings. From now on, I want to focus on my original plan of becoming independent… And that is why I don’t want to see you again, Kail. Let’s go our separate ways now. Please let me go. You are not allowed to leave me. I’m sure there will be plenty of people in the world who would be pleased to have you die, but I am not ready for you to leave yet.”Kail still wouldn’t move, and Silje looked down at him coldly.“You are not allowed to die without my permission, Kail. You made me the way I am now, so don’t even think about leaving me without my permission. I will never forgive you if you die on me like this. You made me into this weak woman. You made me feel such strong emotions… Fine, I will admit it. Looking at you like this is killing me. You once told me that I drove you to madness. You are doing the same to me… You flew halfway across the world to chase me and you have caused me so much pain. Are you happy now? Answer me! She thought for a second before asking him slowly, “If you get to come with me to the hospital now, do you think it will make you feel better? Would it be enough to make you feel like you no longer owe me anything?”“Probably.”Christian nodded and continued, “This will be the last time. I will take you to the hospital. You look like you are in shock so I don’t think you will be able to get there on your own anyway in your current state.”He was right. Silje was pretending to be calm, but her legs were shaking. She looked up at him and replied quietly, “Alright. Then could you drive me to the hospital, Christian?
