Chapter 2: Rage

last update Huling Na-update: 2024-01-24 12:21:16

That's what you get, b'tch.

"There's no need to shout, Zariyah Azrael!" I scream while not looking at her in the kitchen with her pambahay dress. She looked at me furiously. Wow! Siya pa talaga ang galit.

"Don't you ever look at me like that, as if I'm the one who did wrong last night!" Diretso kong sabi.

And good for her, kahit lasing ito may naiwan pang alaala.

"The next time na magpakalasing ka nanaman uli, I'll leave you alone. I don't care who you kiss with or sit with. Total, you're too good in such a place like those, diba?"

"Wait, what? I'm sitting in someone's lap?"

"Yes, bitch. Why? Do you want me to rewind all of your kabalastugan na ginawa kagabi?"

Where is he now?"

"Just one of my past times, Hest." Sabi niya na parang wala sa sarili.

I can really feel the gap between the truth and lies. Perhaps there's something in between the two of them. And maybe she's not ready to share it with others.

And above all, I respect her decision.

We were classmates since high school, and now we're fresh graduates. I took architecture, while she took business management. We were both passionate about our chosen fields, and it was always interesting to share and compare our experiences.

Despite our different courses and paths, we found common ground in our love for adventure and trying new things. We would often go out together, exploring different parts of the world and trying out new experiences. That is why kilalang-kilala ko na siya at ganu'n din siya sa akin.

She's one of my friend I can always count on everytime, hindi papanig ang mundo sa akin. And somehow, we live in the same apartment. Most especially, wala na akong mga magulang. Well, my parents died three days after my debut. They met an accident during their business trip in Taguig.

And here I am trying to survive my everyday meal, pay my bills, and find a job.

I felt nervous, but kailangan ko ng trabaho.

As I sat in the waiting area, my heart pounded in my chest like a drum.

"Ms.

I was wearing a sexy top, a matching blazer, and a skirt. I had prepared for this interview meticulously, going over potential questions and rehearsing my answers. I knew I had the skills and experience for the job. But despite all my preparation, a wave of anxiety washed over me.

I took a few deep breaths, trying to steady my racing heart.  As my name was called, I stood up, straightened my outfit, and put on the most confident smile I could muster.

Shocks! This is not my first time attending an interview, but why do I feel this kind of pressure?

"Good afternoon, Ms. Forbes. Please have a seat," sabi niya na may ngiti sa kanyang mukha.

Why's something on him? Who is he?

For goodness sake, I really need this job. I made sure to articulate my thoughts clearly, providing detailed yet concise responses.

Sa bawat tanong na ibinato sa’kin, I tried to showcase my skills, my experiences, and my passion for the job.

As the questions continued, I could feel myself settling into a rhythm. The initial nervousness faded away, replaced by a sense of determination. I was no longer just answering questions; I was telling my story, sharing my journey.

Nagpaalam ako at pinihit ang pintuan palabas.

A feeling of longingness is inside that room.

From the layout of the workspaces to the selection of the artwork on the walls, every detail seemed to have been thoughtfully considered. The open floor plan fostered collaboration and communication, while the quiet corners and breakout rooms provided space for focused work and private meetings. The color scheme was a mix of cool blues and warm earth tones, creating a balance between professionalism and comfort. The furniture was modern and ergonomic, designed to support productivity and well-being.

The lighting was perfect - natural light flooded through the large windows during the day, and the ambient lighting was soft and inviting. Greenery was strategically placed around the office, adding a touch of nature and a sense of calm to the environment. As I walked through the space, I couldn't help but be impressed. The design of the company was not just well-planned; it was a testament to the thought and care that went into creating an environment that fostered creativity, productivity, and wellness.”

And maybe dadaan muna ako saglit sa isang park at doon ay magpahinga.

The laughter of the children filled the air, their joy infectious. I watched as the father helped his youngest on the swing, his gentle encouragement echoing across the park. The mother was busy capturing the moment, her camera clicking away, preserving the memory.

The sight of the family enjoying their day in the park warmed my heart. It was a simple moment, yet it held so much meaning.

I found myself reflecting on my own family. I thought of the support they've given me, the love they've shown, and the sacrifices they've made. I realized how much strength I draw from them, how much they inspire me to keep going, to keep fighting.

With a renewed sense of determination, I stood up from the bench. May mas ikinalulungkot pa pala.

Since, for sure hindi pa makakauwi si Zari. I drove towards the beach, the setting sun painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was a familiar and comforting melody.

As I sat there, feeling the cool sea breeze against my skin, I let out a sigh of relief. The stress and tension from the day seemed to melt away with each wave that rolled in. I closed my eyes and allowed the tranquil sounds of the sea to wash over me.

The waves, constant yet ever-changing, reminded me of life's ups and downs. But just like the sea, I too would keep moving forward, no matter what.

The day had been long and challenging, but also rewarding.

Ngayon ang unang araw ko sa trabaho. Maaga akong natulog kagabi para gumising ng maaga.I chose a sexy top paired with a high-waisted pencil skirt. The top was a deep red, accentuating my white skin and complementing my dark hair. The skirt was black, hugging my curves just right and ending just above my knees, striking a balance between professional and stylish.I added a pair of black pumps for height and a touch of confidence. I chose simple jewelry—a pair of gold hoop earrings and a delicate gold necklace. I wanted my outfit to make a statement, but I also wanted to be taken seriously. This was my first day of work and a new chapter in my life.I grabbed my bag, checked my reflection one last time, and headed out the door. I was ready to take on whatever the day had in store for me.Pagdating ko sa opisina, binati ako ng mga ngiti at mga kamay na handang makipagkamay.

"I really hate being belittled," Sabi ko. I called Zari since hindi sya umuwi kagabi because of her hectic schedule at work."I know, Hest," she said gently. "Nobody deserves to be treated that way. And I know you; hindi ka basta bastang nagpapatalo." Her words resonated with me. I took a deep breath and nodded. "You're right. I need to start standing up for myself more."Pinatay ko na ang tawag at tiningnan ang orasan. Nag breakfast kana?" Tanong ko. Sinuklian niya ako ng ngiti at tumango.

Sinadya ko talagang e reset ito kagabi ng 5 a.m dahil marami akong gustong gawin.I wake up early, usually just as the sun is beginning to peek over the horizon. I start my day with a stretch and a yawn, shaking off the remnants of sleep.Pumunta ako sa kusina to prepare a cup of coffee, the rich aroma filling the room and jump starting my senses. While sipping my coffee, naaalala ko it's been months na pala akong nagtatrabaho sa kumpanya nila Liam at 3 weeks na rin na hindi umuwi sa apartment si Zari. Kumusta na kaya ang babaeng yun.I miss the times when we could just hang out without any worries, when our biggest decision was what movie to watch or where to have dinner. “Zar? Are you there?” Ikaw ba’to?” Wika niya. I can't help but feel a twinge of sadness, a longing for the simpler times.

  • The Wild Side of Despair    Chapter 6: Reminiscing

The crunch of dead leaves under my feet echoes through the air as I walk towards our old mansion. The sound, a stark reminder of the passage of time, is the only noise in the otherwise silent surroundings. The mansion, once a symbol of our family's prosperity, now stands as a testament to the memories we've left behind. The mansion looms ahead, its grandeur faded with time. The windows, once brightly lit, are now dark, mirroring the emptiness inside. Each crunch of the leaves under my feet feels like a step back in time, a journey into the past. I saw how this created being protected from people trying to get inside, na kahit ang dating nakatira ay wala ng karapatan pa. At the top of the main gate, words were etched into the metal, “de bon augure” which means giving hope of success in french. It is quote that had been passed down through our family for generat

“I almost had sex in Paris!” Well, hindi naman nakakapanibago sa'kin kung ang dali niyang makahanap ng taong maka intercourse niya in an intimate way.I mean, she's totally liberated even when it comes to clothes. Well, hindi naman sa nagmamalinis pero if showy ako the way I dress, she's more than that.“Should I say, congratulations?” Sabi ko at ngumisi. She then looked at me, I mean she's staring at me. For a moment, there was silence in her room, I could almost hear crickets. “You're really my best friend.” Sabay bato nya ng unan sa’kin. For a couple of minutes, nag babatuhan lang kami ng unan like a kid playing around without the burden of life complexities. "So, how's life in Paris? The city of love?" I asked mysteriously, our laughter subsiding as we settled comfortably on the bed."There's so many guys..." she began, a mischievous glint in her eyes. Before she could continue, I playfully

I felt like I hadn't slept at all last night. My body felt heavy, my mind foggy. I rubbed my eyes, trying to shake off the fatigue. But it clung to me, a persistent shadow that refused to let go.After Liam dropped me off last night, nakita ko si Zari na mag isa with a drink in her hand. The soft glow from the lights inside the house cast a warm glow on her, making her seem almost ethereal. We chit chatted a bit, since hindi na kami laging magkausap due to our different hectic sched. So ayun, medyo tipsy ako ngayon sa trabaho."I can't believe everything that happened," sabi niya at paulit ulit pa akong tinanong dahil baka raw nagsisinungaling lang ako at nag ilusyon. Ang bruha ginawa pa akong sinungaling. "Sis, it all seems so surreal." I just nodded to her and took a one shot. She shook her head, a small smile playing on her lips. "Well, sis," she said, her voice filled with something. "You certainly know how to keep life interesting.”Napasubo ako ng chicharon sa sinabi niya, “ika

I quickly searched where those noises came from, when I saw Liam wearing his usual poker face, while…holding a food?I blinked in surprise, my sleep-addled brain trying to make sense of the situation. "Sir Liam?" I asked, my voice filled with confusion. "Haven't you gone home yet?"Liam turned to look at me, a sheepish smile on his face. "I... I lost track of time," he said, his gaze shifting to the food in his hands. "I thought you might be hungry, so I brought some food.”Hinanap ko ang aking phone and shit, it's 9:00 pm already. "I'm sorry if nagising kita.” Sabi ni Liam sa mahinang tinig. I don't have enough time sa mga kadramahan niya, and why is he acting like that? • The Wild Side of Despair    Chapter 14: Punishment

The office was buzzing with the sounds of papers, typing on computers and loud conversations. They are all looking busy, as if the company won't pay them if they don't do heavy work. We were here for a reason, and I couldn't let anything distract me from that."Zari, it's me," I said, moving further into the house.
