Chapter 7

Now Mum is forcing me, today already 2 people forced me to go to the damn Prom.

"Let Cara decide for herself." Dad stood up for me. I smiled gratefully at Dad, finally someone who agreed with me in this house.

'Oh, of course he'll go. Alex has also refused to go to prom like this but I managed to persuade him to go, right?" Mum replied with of times refusing to go to prom Mum finally forced him.

He even wanted to wear the suit Mum picked out, I have to admit he looked really good in it at the time. Hisbrown hair was cut very short, unlike now which grows rather long. And he asked Evelyn Lance as his prom date.

I remember feeling jealous when I found out that Alex had invited Evelyn Lance, who got the title of the most beautiful woman in his class. I silenced Alex for a week afterthat.

An idea flashed through my head suddenly. Now is the perfect time for revenge.

"Okay. I'm going to the prom." I said suddenly to Mum. Everyone looked shocked when they heard me, they didn't think I would give up that easily.

"When's the party?" Mum asked with a relieved smile.

"Next week." I replied with a bit of bad feeling when I saw how excited Mum was.

After dinner, I help Mum clean up the leftovers. Dad went outside while Alex and Jake played games in the living room.

"I already know what dress looks good on you, Cara." She said while tidying up the dishes. ugh.

"Mum... " I groaned, "No puffy stuff, okay? And no ribbons or lace!"

Mum laughs at me "Of course, honey."

I wore my pyjamas in the bathroom before i went to my room because I won't like what happened yesterday to happen again. 

I take my toothbrush by the sink, now there are toothbrushes in my bathroom. I began to feel weird about this change. I brush my teeth.

Alex and Jake's screaming voices could be heard from my room on the second floor, they both laugh loud when playing games. I decided to go to bed after accompanying Jen all day looking for dresses from shop managed to absorb all of my remaining energy the day. I dropped my body on the bed and pulled blanket, my hand crawled to turn off the light. A minutes later my eyes were closed.

That night, I woke up at to a dry throat. As I went the kitchen, the dark atmosphere made my feet hit something. Then I saw Alex and Jake on the couch, the light from the TV that hadn't off the only light in the living room. Alex slept leg hanging down, the blanket wrapped around a snake making me smile to myself. I walking to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

a hoarse voice called from behind me. I turned surprised, Alex looked at me with narrowed eyes, he is half sitting.

"I too loud?" I whispered to him.

"You awake?" he asked still with his hoarse voice that suddenly made my stomach feel filled with butterflies.

"I'm just thirsty." I replied still in a whisper then took a glass of water, suddenly I heard the sound of heavy footsteps behind me. I paused to see Alex with his face half closed following me.

"Alex, what are you doing? Just go back to sleep." I told him. Half smiling Alex scratched his head "I will accompany you. Until you sleep." Short answer.

"You just want my bed." I grumbled angrily.

"May also." He said with a chuckle. We walked together back to my room and climbed into my bed.

Alex's bulky body leaves little room for me, and I have to do my best to keep us from touching. Alex suddenly pulled the covers over me for himself.

"Alex!" I hissed as I pulled him back. Alex's gaze fixed on the glow in the dark star decoration that shone on the roof of my room. The stars shine when the lights in my room are turned off, I remember it was Alex who put them on a few years ago.

"Alex ... Today I met Annelise." I said while turning my gaze to the stars as well.

"Yeah, she told me." he answered

"So ... What is Alpha?" I asked him.

"Alpha ... is the leader of a pack-or group of werewolves, and Alpha is descended by bloodline."

I turned back to him, "And you are the Alpha?"

"Yeah."

"So Dad is an Alpha too?"

"No. Uncle Brent was the previous Alpha, because he didn't have children so I'm the closest bloodline after him."

 That's clear to me.

Uncle Brent was Dad's brother. So he's also an Alpha? I just realized the reason why everyone seems to respect him so much.

"I just got promoted to Alpha last year. Actually I moved out of town to take care of the leadership transition of the pack too." he added.

"Oh" I replied, I didn't know what to say so we were silent for a while.

"Method?" Alex was still looking up at the stars above us which were starting to fade.

"Hmmm?" I muttered while turning to him.

"Can I kiss you?" he asked before turning to me as well. I choked at his question. Alex turned his body to face me, his brown eyes glinted into mine. Then he lifted his body toward me, his body resting on his hands. His head is close to mine, and he kisses me. We kissed for a few moments before my hand finally pushed his chest a little away. Our breaths blow each other and my heart is currently pounding half to death.

"Annelise was surprised to learn that you marked me. Your own sister." I whispered to Alex who was still leaning next to me. His eyes that had turned dark brown were still glued to my lips.

"And you mind?" he asked, his eyes shifting to mine.

I guess ... No?" my answer

"Neither do I" Short answer, then Alex kissed me again.

The alarm that went off woke me up from my deep sleep. I opened my eyes and the morning sun that shone brightly made my eyes blind for a moment. I blinked my eyes while getting used to the sunlight then turned to Alex who was next to me. His heavy breathing indicated that he was still fast asleep. One of his hands was on my belly which was covered by the blanket, half embracing me. Tch, now who is like an octopus? I thought as I raised my hand. But before I could get out of my blanket his hand reached out again and pulled me into his arms tighter.

"Alex." I groaned while trying to push his body away.

"Hmm ... " he mumbled in a deep voice. I close my eyes for a moment, I think I have a new weakness; Alex's raspy, deep voice when he wakes up is one of the sexiest things I've ever heard. Apart from the sound of bacon frying at breakfast of course.

"I can't breathe-sh" I screamed. In a split second Alex pushed himself away and sat on my bed looking at me with narrowed eyes. "Sorry... " he muttered hoarsely then pulled the corners of his lips into a sleepy smile. I bit my lip with a bit of frustration because my heart was beating erratically, Alex was very dangerous in the morning. I grabbed my pillow and threw it hard at his face.

"You really need your own bed." I tell him, but Alex is back curled up hugging my pillow.

"Alex I have to get ready for school, get out of my room." I grumbled.

"H-hm." Alex buried his face in my pillow and hugged iT tighter.

'Mom!" I started screaming for Mum.

"Okay, okay!" Still with half closed eyes Alex went out of my room, he crashed into my bedroom door then cursed at him before disappearing from behind the door. While chuckling I went into the bathroom then did my morning routine.

Mum was cooking pancakes when I walked into the kitchen, Alex and Jake were sitting at the dinner table finishing their food, I took my place in the middle.

"Where's Dad?" I asked Alex who was sitting next to me.

"Went to Uncle Brent's" Alex shoved a large piece of pancake into his mouth 

"They're going fishing." he added with a full mouth.

"Alex, don't chat while chewing." Mum scolds Alex with a sullen face. Alex struggled to swallow the pancake in his mouth.

"I'm just answering the question." Alex replied defending himself. I just replied Alex by rolling my eyes, Mum is the only person who can make Alex scared-only Mum.

"So the princess who finally went to the prom, want me to take you to school?" Jake laughed at his own joke.

"Aw, Jake, shut up." I replied angrily. I put a piece of pancake on my plate and then drizzle some maple sauce, my eyes glued to the food on Alex's plate, bacon, pancakes, eggs, lots of it. Jake is the same.

"You eat like pigs." I muttered in a low voice.
