The lake was beautiful this time of night with the moonlight dancing across the top of it, and now was the perfect time to test out the abilities of the suit that I managed to make. The suits themselves are meant for warriors as they are not only built to help conceal underneath any color of water, but they also have the ability to stick with us while we shift, no matter what specific water fairy we are.Because of the fact that my sisters and I will be going in our own directions soon, specific warriors were chosen to train at home in preparation for traveling with us to our new realms. I may or may not have stolen multiple suits from them to make my own, causing a blame game and more needing to be brought in. I recommended them going nude, but no one was nearly as amused as I was about it.I dove head first off of the tall cliff into the water below, and my skin tingled with pleasure as soon as contact was made. I swam around, covering distance quickly to make sure that I was in fact alone before shifting into my large dragon like water serpent.Unlike a werewolf, there wasn't another soul residing in my mind and body. My serpent and I were one, and I could shift whenever I felt the need. My large reptile matched the dark green color of my hair, and tonight I was testing the suit's ability to change that color as well.I covered every surface inch of Lake Powell that I could before traveling to its depths. It had been so long since I'd been able to shift away from everyone and fully enjoy it, I wanted to relish every second that I had. It wasn't until I reached the bottom that my built-in sonar was able to pick up the sounds of motion back at the surface. I grumbled to myself in irritation. Of course, something just had to interfere now. With my luck, it was probably divers out looking for things that tourists might have lost during the day and I'd have to sneak out of here without getting questioned on where my vehicle was. For some reason, I didn't think their human mind could handle "I teleported in the waterway".I started slowly making my way back up towards the surface, trying to pick out any other odd sounds or movements that didn't belong. Even though there wasn't anything out of place other than the rhythmic splashing from the same location, I decided to shift back to my human form to play it safe.Once I broke out of the water, I immediately saw what had been making the annoying noise that took me away from the depths of the lake, as well as my peaceful solitude. A large blue dragon laid on one of the cliffs, swaying his tail which was splashing in and out of the water in a rhythmic motion, a cheeky grin on his face. The sound made my eyes twitch in irritation."Who are you and what do you want?" I didn't hesitate to confront him as I stared into his aqua-colored eyes, nor did I bother playing polite, as there was no one else around to attempt to correct me.The dragon huffed out a small amount of smoke from his nose. I couldn't tell if it was in his own irritation or amusement, and I really didn't care. "You really don't know who I am, do you?""First off, not only do I not know who you are, I also don't care who you are. You interrupted my peace and quiet, so as far as I'm concerned you can go fuck yourself." I continued to lightly tread the water even though I honestly didn't have to, but the feeling of it moving against my skin brought me pleasure that I wasn't ready to give up.Snorting more smoke from his nose, the dragon glared his eyes at me, and now I knew that he was irritated. "Pretty bold for just a fairy, don't you think?"Just a fairy?! Did he seriously just say that?! "I thought that dragons were supposed to be smart? Clearly, the saying you're smarter than you look doesn't apply to you!"I saw his lip curl up, showing the constant flame from within glowing inside of his mouth. I knew he didn't intend to use it on me. If he did, he would have already.I don't know what his deal was, but I wasn't one to miss out on the perfect opportunity to put someone in their place. Hiding my smile so he didn't know that anything was coming, I sent a steady stream of water towards his face, directly crashing into the place where his arrogant lip curled up.The dragon immediately shook his head like a dog that was sprayed by a water hose. I couldn't contain my laughter at seeing the prideful reptile's reaction to having a simple female fairy make an act of defiance against him. We stared at each other in silence, each one waiting for the other to make their next move."I'm not here to fight you little fairy.""I honestly don't care why you're here. As far as I'm concerned, you're nothing more than an arrogant creeper."His nose twitched and I could tell that he wanted to snarl in irritation again, but thought better of it this time. Instead, to my horror, the reptile dove into the water and immediately blended in with it. Not only his coloring, but sound and motion as well. He became completely camouflaged with the water we were in.I sighed, now realizing the predicament I found myself in. A fucking water dragon of all things. The arrogant prick probably got a glimpse of my serpent and thought I was one as well, only to be disappointed in finding out I was a fairy. But what's he doing around here? Yeah, the North West hemisphere is their territory, but usually they stay closer to larger bodies of water, or at least where it's cooler.Ripples finally appeared about 30 yards in front of me, only instead of the dragon emerging he had shifted into his human form. His impossibly ridiculously handsome human form with his aqua-colored eyes and anchor cut goatee. Of course, his facial features would represent water in almost every way possible."I don't care if you are in your human form, if you don't stay back, you'll get more than a burst of water to your face.""Do you show this attitude to everyone? Or am I just that special?"I wanted to smack the smirk off of his face, I just didn't know if I wanted to do it with my hands or lips."Don't flatter yourself, dragon. You're not special. It's more like there's no one around to criticize me for my words and actions."He slowly started swimming closer and I immediately backed away. "I told you I'm not here to fight you.""And I told you to stay back."Still, he worked his way closer. I wasn't left with many options. Dragons are, and I hate to admit this, superior to a lot of the other supernaturals. This is why they're so arrogant, as well as why they stay true to the purity of their kind.Realizing that fighting wasn't an option, my flight instinct finally kicked in. I quickly put myself in a bubble of water and started raising myself up until I reached what I thought was a more than sufficient distance from his human form."Wow, you really are clueless as to who I am!" The handsome man below me had a wickedly evil smile on his face as he chuckled. His smile was sinister in so many ways. How it mocked me and how it lured me in at the same time, making me conflicted if I wanted to punch him or kiss him.No! Do NOT think that way, Fiona! I snapped out of my moment of lust, quickly moving my hand sideways to create white-capped waves on the once calm lake."Like I said, I don't care who you are! You're nothing to me, no one! Go back to your dragon kingdom, back to your elders of the council, back to your high and mighty deity! Arrogant bigots have no value to me!""ENOUGH!" The man's expression turned from amusement to anger as his voice echoed around us.My eyes widened as the waves I created immediately came to a halt. It felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest as fear consumed me. I wasn't dealing with your every day of the mill water dragon, he wouldn't be able to control his element like that in human form. I was dealing with ....Before I could finish my thought, my bubble of water gave out and both the water and I fell back into the lake. I regained what composure I had left as quickly as I could and returned my gaze back to the aqua eyes of the water dragon's deity. Of all beings to be stuck alone with. He could easily kill me, or worse."I told you I didn't want to fight you." His voice sounded honest, almost calming, but everything told me not to trust him."Then what is it you want, exactly? You have no reason to seek communication with me.""Maybe I'm here wanting an alliance?""In the middle of Lake Powell? With no witnesses? No documentation? With a fairy princess that hasn't even taken over yet? Yeah, right. And I'm housewife material. What do you really want?"He swiftly closed the gap between us before I even knew what was happening. His mouth crashed against my own and his tongue found its way into my mouth while his arms wrapped around me and pulled me against his slender yet well built body. For a brief few seconds, I deeply enjoyed the sensations that his skin caused as it touched my own, but that was all that I would allow, as everything about what was happening was wrong. My knee lifted and found it's mark as my teeth bit down on their own target and the unusually sweet yet metallic taste of his blood landed on my taste buds. I smiled as he moved just out of my reach, an extremely shocked look on his face that I was willing to bet he had never shown before."Leveetan, isn't it?""Leviathan. Those who know me call me Levi." I had to give the devil his dues, he bounced back from the unexpected pain like nothing happened at all. It made me wonder if I didn't hurt him as badly as I intended? Or was he immune to feeling any pain at all?"Well, I don't know you, so Leveetan it is. Look, I know what you are, but that doesn't give you any right to play games with me and think that I'm just going to open myself to you. I'm sure you have females of every species constantly throwing themselves at your feet, but I'm not one of them. And I sure in hell will never be your fling, so if that's what your goal is, you can simply fu.ck off."Leviathan closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. I had no clue what was going on in the little man brain of his, but I wasn't having any part of it. I quickly backed my way to the shore, keeping my eyes on him the entire time. I figured if I could somehow jump back into the river a good distance away from him, and do so out of the element that he could control, I might stand a good chance at making it back home before anything could happen. Despite our elements being the same, I knew that I didn't stand a chance against him."Wait!" Leviathan's aqua eyes drilled holes into my own. I swore they were pleading with me, but I knew better than that. I held my breath as I obeyed him, not knowing if I really dared to be obstinate at this moment in time. "Are you telling me that you feel nothing at all?"I shook my head in confusion. What on Earth is he talking about? "What do feelings matter? I'm just a fairy, one that doesn't want to be involved in any of the games you're trying to play!""Just answer the question I asked you." Was he pleading with me?"No. I feel and felt nothing." Ok, it was a partial lie. I was attracted to him, and I enjoyed being held in his arms, but that was completely besides the point. I refused to be the bimbo sidepiece to a dragon deity.A low, deep growl escaped Leviathan as he shifted back into his dragon and took flight, pausing in the air to look down at me.I held his gaze with my own, not knowing what to expect, nor what just transpired between us. "Wish I could say it was nice meeting you, Leveetan!" He blew out a puff of smoke before taking off and I quickly made my way back home. After taking a quick shower and putting on some PJs, I decided to make my way to the kitchen to look for something to settle my nerves. Hot coco made with milk and a little bit of peppermint schnapps sounded good right now."That was quite the little show you put on tonight, dear sister."I didn't bother turning around to look at the unapproving look I knew that Shaylee had to have on her face. "Someone needs to make a stand now and then.""Look, we all fight with each other, it's what we do. But I love you, and I want you to be careful. Do you understand me?"I finished making my drink before I bothered to look her in the eyes and give her an answer. When I finally did, I could see the worry that her blue and brown eyes contained. "You just focus on yourself and being the perfect princess, OK? I'll be fine. Are you ready for the move to Aunt Aella's?""As ready as I'll ever be, how about you going to Aunt Nixie's?""Same.""Did you enjoy your swim?" Her voice contained a tinge of sarcasm. Fucking Cerulean, he couldn't simply keep his mouth shut."Not so much. I ended up not being alone. Hey, you're well versed in the social side of things. What do you know about Leviathan?""The water dragon deity? He was here tonight with his kids. It's the first time he's made an appearance at one of the princess announcements in ages, by my understanding. Why do you want to know?"Great. So he saw the entire show on top of everything. "No reason, really. He lives up around Aunt Nixie's, right? So I'll kind of be neighbors with him?""Yeah, not super close neighbors, but still. By my understanding, he has stayed to himself since his chosen mate left him, so you shouldn't have to worry about anything.""That's right, I forgot about that. Why'd she leave again?"Shaylee raised a brow at me, but answered my question all the same. "Rumor has it she couldn't handle being his chosen mate any longer and had a breakdown. Poor woman. Imagine being chosen to have children with someone you don't love and spend day after day with them."I shook my head in disgust at traditions. "Their old school ways are worse than ours. Pompous assholes anyway."Shaylee was quiet for a minute, as if she was deep in her own thoughts. "I'm going to go to bed now, it's been a long day. Have a good night Fiona.""You too, Shaylee." I sat alone in the dark kitchen, sipping my peppermint flavored hot coco, thoughts of the day's events running through my mind.I decided to go to bed long after Shaylee, as well as my drink, were gone. I needed to get some rest before a long day of packing, plus Cerulean needed to make his announcement about where he had decided to live. I knew my life was about to change, but little did I realize just how much.LeviI was sitting in my den in the basement, attempting to talk with Sol, but in all honesty my heart just wasn't into it."Where the hell did you disappear to the other night? ....... Dad? You still there?"I barely heard Sol's voice come from the phone because, to be honest, I flat out wasn't paying attention. "Huh? Oh. I decided to leave before everyone got into the heavy liquor. You know how I can't stand to be around a bunch of drunks. That scene is just not for me.""What's up with you today? Usually I can carry a decent conversation with you, but you really seem out of it. Is everything ok?" "I'm sorry, I've just got a lot on my mind right now. Everything is fine, it's just, I'm over thinking things I guess." I hated lying. I hated making my children worry and stress over things. But now wasn't the time to disclose what exactly was going on with me."Let me guess, a combination of mom and the business?"I liked that. That I could work with and play along with. "Yeah, you coul
FionaI was angrily cramming my luggage into the back of the middle SUV, hurrying in frustration so that the warriors and I could get out of here and make our way to the Finger Lakes, my new home. Seneca lake to be more specific.I let out a noise that was a combination of a snort and a scoff as I glanced at the eleven warriors that were split up, half standing at the first SUV and the other half at the third one. Not a single one was standing anywhere near me. Some watchful guardians they were. How could they protect me if they didn't even have the balls to be around me while I'm pissed off?I heard footsteps approaching from behind, my body tensed, knowing who it was without needing to turn around and look."Don't even fucking bother, Cerulean. I don't want to hear it." My voice was dark as it hissed through my clenched teeth. The footsteps stopped, but they didn't leave. "Fiona, please. I don't want this to end on a bad note."I spun around with force and I swear I could feel fire i
Fiona"Fiona! It's not your job to over see the training! That's what head warriors are for! How many times do I have to tell you this?"I cursed under my breath as Aisling gave me sh.it for at least the hundredth time since I got here. The elder water fairy was sitting in her chair by the lake watching the kids as I walked by. Her white, blue, and grey hair was neatly pulled back and she was holding her glass of wine like her life depended on it. Which if she keeps her sh.it up, it very well might."Excuse me, I hate to burst your water bubble old lady, but I'm not just going to sit back and play house wife." I smirked as I watched the older fairy wrinkle her nose and squint her eyes at me in irritation before gulping down the last of her life force. Mentioning her age was the only thing I could do to get her to stop telling me how I should be acting, and I seemed to be the only one she let get away with it without feeling her wrath."We don't expect you to just sit around and not do
Leviathan As soon as Fiona's lips locked onto that subservient's I had to get out of there. Not only was a planned day out with Sol and Celeste completely ruined by the argument about their mates, but Fiona just had to be around to hear a good hunk of it as well. I should have known better than to go to that damn city now that she's in the area, but I didn't think she was one to get out much. Looks like my assumptions were not only incorrect, but she was with another man to top it off. This entire thing was getting way out of control. I can't let Sol and Celeste know about Fiona, not right now. They can't have the green light to be with their mates just yet. I need to be the one to break the rules that became our walls of confinement, and I refuse to let anyone fight a battle they'll be sure to lose, especially my children.Sol and Celeste went directly to their homes without saying anything to me. Which is fine, I can handle their anger. Between being pissed off, hurt, and afraid of
LeviFiona now stood only a few feet away from me, a shocked anger burning in her beautiful blue green eyes. I wanted nothing more than to take her in my arms and make her mine, show her how much she meant to me and what I was willing to give to have her. But judging by the look on her face I'd have better luck sweet taking a rabid hyena."You knew this whole entire time?!" Fiona's voice was loud and angry. She had one arm over her chest and the other was rigid at her side, her hand balled in a tight fist."Can you please try not yelling? This isn't really something the entire world needs to hear right now." I gave her a half smile as I scratched the back of my head, not fully knowing how to react."You knew the night of the party that you were my mate and you didn't say anything?!?" Her voice was more quiet, but not any less angry."Fiona, can you please calm down?"Fiona squinted her eyes and shook her head while she looked at the ground we were standing on. "This is bad. This can't
FionaI woke up feeling like I had a hangover thanks to the stress and lack of sleep from the night before, but I was determined not to miss a day of training, regardless of what others may think.Even though no one dared train with me, I still took it upon myself to oversee the daily ongoings and train myself, despite what anyone said about it.I grabbed a cup of coffee and a handful of aspirin for breakfast before I made my way to the training grounds. As usual, I showed up and everyone went rigid as I walked past them, their eyes casting disapproving looks my way.My own eyes immediately found the back of Colton's head as I saw him chatting with a few of the other warriors. Curiosity got the best of me as I cautiously made my way closer, hoping to make it close enough for my fairy hearing to pick up what was being said while staying far enough away that they weren't alerted to my presence."Before training starts, how about you telling us how your date was with the Princess last nig
FionaAs soon as I walked out of my bathroom and into my bedroom, there Jordan was, completely nude and somehow tied up on my bed."What on Earth are you doing?!?" I tried to contain the humorous expression on my face, but seeing him bound with his junk hanging out was making it difficult."I, uh, well." Jordan glanced down at himself then back at me. Clearly, this wasn't the reaction he was hoping for."What were you thinking? Why are you nude and tied up on my bed? I have SO many questions right now!""That you, uh, like to dominate?" Jordan put a cheesy fake smile on his face, clearly trying to cover his embarrassment.I pinched the bridge of my nose and lightly shook my head before proceeding. This guy is something else. "You're going to need to explain that one.""Well. You seem to enjoy putting all of us in our place. I know you don't have a mate or a chosen partner or anything, so I thought I would, I don't know, maybe be of assistance to you?" Jordan moved uncomfortably on my b
ShayleeSebastian and I laid in my bed together, his large rough hands were tracing delicate random lines across my bare back as I laid partially on top of his muscular chest, running my hand through his silver chest hair.We were like night and day. Where I was about 5'6", he was pushing close to 7 feet tall. I was lean and delicate, while Sebastian was built like a bulldozer. My light olive skin was soft, while his darker skin was rough and calloused from working outside daily. His short silver hair and beard made his dark purple eyes stand out, and when I first laid eyes on him, I swore he was a God. I couldn't believe he was a hybrid, and a wolf hybrid of all things. "Come on Leah. We can get out of here, go to the other side of the world or something. I can make it so that no one knows who we are. We can travel and live amongst humans. Something, anything but staying here." His voice no longer pleaded with me, as he knew the answer. But that didn't stop him fr
FionaI felt like a child in a classroom as we all looked at the two gray-haired women standing before us. Their combined aura was more intimidating than I cared to admit. I got the impression that Anne was much older than Aisling, despite looking like she was the younger of the two."I'll make this as short as possible, as I have somewhere else I'm needed that's honestly a lot more important than being here, explaining things to you .....""Short, but obviously not sweet," Dhara quipped from Matthew's lap with a smirk as Sharia and Maya giggled. My eyes widened as they went from Anne, to Dhara, and back to Anne again."Just like your mother, aren't you?" Anne asked as she glared at Dhara.Aisling rolled her eyes, clicking her tongue in irritation. "You all just need to shut up for once and listen to Anne. She knows more than all of you put together. It wouldn't exactly hurt you to have a mentor of her standards."Anne smiled as Dhara's face fell. "Aisling and I have known each other f
FionaThe air was eerily quiet around us as the sun set in the background, making the sky look like it was angry, or possibly embarrassed. I honestly couldn't tell which. It was as if nature itself knew the severity of what I had just done, and was shocked into silence. Not a tweet from a bird, a bark from a squirrel, nor a rustle of leaves from the wind, as there wasn't even a slight breeze. I couldn't even hear the water splash from Seneca Lake. It was like everything stopped to contemplate the meaning of life. After I swallowed the scratchy lump that had formed in my throat, I opened my mouth to speak, my voice hoarse thanks to the fire that had escaped it. "Why don't you all go home and try to relax for the night. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for showing up and supporting me. The others and I have a lot to discuss and try to figure out."As if the Earth's silence became their own, the group of water fairies that stood behind me quietly dispersed.I turned around and
Senora The burning lava substance made it's way towards Aisling, as screams from the crowd filled the air around us, a combination of shock, fear, and anger as to what they were seeing of their elders.Rieka immediately stepped between Aisling and the burning material, stopping it with her powers."A little help would be nice!" Rieka yelled as she pushed her feet into the dirt to brace herself. You know how they say everything was in slow motion? Well, it wasn't. I didn't even have a chance to react as I watched from the porch, a mixture of emotions coursing through my body. I was completely clueless about how to react, and if it wasn't for Rieka ...."Colton, what the fuck are we supposed to do?! They're our elders!"Colton turned and looked at me with an equally confused and shocked expression. "You're asking me?! The fuck if I know!"Cerulean shook his head. "Rhi is the only one of us that can actually stop them without fighting them .....""We fu.cking SHOULD be fucking fighting t
FionaThe events that took place were all just a little too surreal. I was still having a hard time believing that the six dragon elders simply washed their hands of their long-standing duties, leaving the deities in complete charge of their hemispheres. But I suppose when you've gone so long living a lie about things that you stopped believing in, and losing children because of those things, you stop caring. Funny how the fear to stand up for what's right leaves one's mind once others are willing to do the same. The elder dragons all made their way back to their homes to take care of business, while the rest of us did the same. Once we were just a few hours from home, we decided to rent an SUV big enough to seat the seven of us comfortably and drive the rest of the way back. It was simply easier than trying to fly into the city as exhausted as we were.I was honestly enjoying the ride as I leaned onto Levi and he wrapped his arm around me. Everything finally felt .... right.Rhi's voi
Beckett"Trust me," Joseline said. Two simple words. For years, the fairies didn't trust the dragons. To be honest, we never really even had much to do with them. Whenever there was a ceremony held, everyone was invited out of courtesy, nothing more. But now the twist of fate has ripped the door of change off of its hinges, allowing things to happen that were never allowed to happen before. Changes that should have been allowed to take place so long ago, but couldn't thanks to a few of the close-minded, power-hungry, and arrogant elders in power. That, mixed with the fear that many had to stand up to do what's right. This is what happens when we allow others to have the power to be in control for so long. When one tries to force others to think, feel, and believe what they do, they no longer care about anyone other than themselves. Mix it in with a fear of what they don't understand and anger about what they don't agree with, and it creates hatred that shouldn't be. A hate that those i
FionaThe Andes, Copahue volcano to be specific. Of course, we would have to travel a ridiculous distance away from home and that puke would go to his own hemisphere. We all knew Glaurung would, it was just a matter of him tiring himself out enough to make a mistake and alert Fafnir of his general location. Despite the reason we were here, and the fact that we were bouncing around in one of the Avtoros Shaman 8x8s that Fafnir insisted on buying, I still appreciated nature's beauty as I looked out the window. It was raining, after all. What more could I ask for?In true fashion, I pissed off those who I instructed to stay behind when I told them that they had to watch over things in my absence, which went over as well as accidentally using super glue instead of lube on your privates.I can understand their frustration. Honestly, I can. Whereas I told them it wasn't their fight, it's really not my fight either, and yet here I am. I couldn't risk my fairies' lives for this, and I really p
FionaLevi and I had just gotten out of the shower and we're getting ready for bed. The TV was on for background noise, and when the news came on I couldn't help but stop and watch."Fiona, you need to turn the TV off."I continued to stand there, watching the news in my robe. "Do you see what they're showing? So many people had it recorded!"Levi walked up next to me, placing a hand on my lower back. "Yeah, and the police believe that someone snuck into my building and fried my system all for a stunt to get attention. Remember when you told me that people freaked out thinking that the floating candles you guys released for Nixie were UFOs? This will pass."I closed my eyes as I shook my head. "This isn't over, Levi. This is just the beginning. The door has simply been opened. I can feel it.""Maybe so, but for right now we have more important things to deal with. If Glaurung stops moving long enough, Fafnir should be able to pick up on his location through their connection since Rhi
Fiona Sol had an open link going between himself, Celeste, Seth, and Rhi during the entire council meeting. It was an extremely helpful way to keep us all informed of everything as it happened, and shortly after we were given the ok to send Fafnir in, is when all hell broke loose. I figured things wouldn't go over well, which is why we decided Joseline should stay home with Beckett. She was just a dragon compared to the rest of us in that room. Even Roxie being mated with Cerulean, thus a fairy princess, wouldn't be bothered if the elders knew what was good for them. I never anticipated running into the room and actually seeing the body of a female dragon turn into red ashes before dissipating into the air, as my mate hurried towards the broken window, stopping my heart, but thankfully not my brain nor mouth. "Don't you dare, Levi!" Levi pointed angrily to where the dragon's body used to be. "Did you not see what just happened?! I can't let him escape!" "Don't you fucking argue wi
LeviThe morning that has brought us all together has finally graced us with her presence, as daylight slowly crept in through the curtains.Fiona rolled over and placed her head on my shoulder as she laid a hand on my chest, delicately tracking imaginary lines.Despite the day that awaited us, it was a much better start than what yesterday morning was. Aisling succeeded in getting Fiona pretty well lit the other night. So much so that Fiona didn't even realize that I got into the bed next to her after making sure that Sol, Celeste, and Fafnir were settled at my place. It took a few aspirin, a lot of water, and a light breakfast before Fiona was even able to function without looking like she was going to go on a killing spree. I tried telling her that an orgasm would help get rid of her headache, but she chose to ignore me. Luckily, we all managed to get a good game plan going, but you know what they say .... life happens when you're busy making plans. My heart was racing as I took the
