Micah POV
I woke this morning for the last day of final exams. I immediately walked across the hall to wake up my brothers, then next door to my sister’s room and find she is still gone? What the hell? This is not like her at all. There is no way in hell she would miss the last day of final exams. I went to the kitchen and found grandma in tears, “Grandma, where is Adele?” She just shook her head and pointed to grandpa. I went in the living room and asked, “Grandpa, what is going on?” He replied, “She never came back last night. She left in the early evening last night.” I ran to the garage and saw her motorcycle, so she couldn’t have gone far. I asked, “Was she in wolf form?” Grandpa replied, “Yeah. She outran the warriors who were assigned to protect her, and they went to her rock. When they got there, she was gone. They tracked her scent as far as they could, but it was like she just disappeared.” I asked, “Have you called our parents yet?” Grandpa responded, “Not yet. I want to give her some time to fight and come back to us. I want to wait for the day today.” I agreed, “I think that’s best. Do we have any idea who took her?” He shook his head, “No clue, but if I get my hands on them, I will rip their heads off.”
I added, “Get in line, grandpa. We are going to stay home today and see if we can locate her before we have to tell mom and dad.” Grandpa shook his head, “No way. You know she would be pissed off if you did that. Go take your finals and come back.” I sighed, “I only have one test today. I think it’s the same for the guys too.” We could be back by lunch time.” Grandpa smiled, “That will help.” I asked, “Are you going to call the Alliance?” Grandpa nodded, “If we need them. I don’t know if we do yet. I’m hoping she just fell asleep in a cave or something and will come back.” I looked at him like he’s lost his damn mind, “Grandpa, she has never done anything like that before. She loves her bed too much.” Grandma walked into the room chuckling, “That is very true. She really doesn’t like sleeping on any surface except her bed.”
Zach and Alex walked into the kitchen and sat at the table. My grandparents and I joined them and Alex asked, “Where’s Adele?” Grandpa responded, “She never came home from her run last night.” Alex stood up, “What are we doing here?” Grandma made him sit back down, “You boys are going to take your finals today and then you can join the search. Your grandpa and I have agreed not to call your parents until tonight. I have my wolf trying to reach her wolf constantly and we have warriors searching, but her scent trail just disappears at her usual rock and there are no other scents around there.” I sighed, “We need to get going guys. We can talk about where we can find her on the way there and back.” We agreed that we would join the search when we got back and left the house.
When we got in the car, Alex asked, “Do you think she’s really gone voluntarily?” I replied, “Absolutely not. She would have at least linked us to let us know where she’s going. There’s no way she left on her own.” I asked, “What do you think of trying to reschedule our final exams and then try to reschedule Adele’s? I know it’s killing her to know that she’s missing it. We need to let her professor know that she had an emergency come up and we had to hurry up and get home.” Zach replied, “I think you’re right. I wouldn’t be able to concentrate on this exam anyway.” Alex agreed, “I was planning on doing that anyway. It’s my psych exam. I can talk with the professor and try to reschedule Adele’s too.” Micah nodded, “Sounds good. Go ahead and do that.”
We each asked quiz questions during the drive to help each other study, just in case the professors didn’t agree to letting us reschedule. When I parked the car, we agreed that we would all meet here as soon as possible and walked to our classes. When I reached my class, Accounting, and approached my professor, I sighed, “Professor Ball, would it be possible to reschedule my final exam? I had an emergency at home, and I need to get back. My sister is missing.” Professor Ball asked, “Missing? How long have you known?” I replied, “Just as soon as I got up this morning. My grandparents talked my brothers and me into taking our exams, but we all agreed that we wouldn’t be able to do as well as we would have otherwise.” My professor looked at me with a sympathetic expression, “Of course. Let’s try a week from now. If you can do it sooner, give me a call.” He wrote on a piece of paper and handed it to me, “This is my personal number. Please keep me informed on what is going on. I truly hope you find her.” I took the paper with one hand, then shook his hand with the other, “Thank you, sir. That means a lot to me.” I walked out of the classroom and was headed to the front door when Alex caught up with me, “I was able to reschedule Adele’s exam along with mine. I told him that she went missing last night.” I sighed, “Good. I hope that will help her when she comes back.”
We walked out to the car and found Alex waiting there. I gave him a double take, “You got done fast.” Alex shrugged, “I told her that my sister is missing and I just wouldn’t be able to do as well as I would have and she rescheduled it for next week.” I smiled, “Awesome. It’s funny how we all told the truth without even thinking about it. We also used almost the same exact words.” Alex laughed, “That’s hilarious.” Zach smiled, “We’re part of quadruplets. What do you expect?” I unlocked the car and got in the driver’s seat. I started the car and started to back out when I suddenly heard my sister’s voice, “Micah!”
I slammed on the brakes and my brothers jerked forward. Alex yelled, “What the hell, man?!” I waved him off as I tried to link her back, “Adele! Sis! Are you there?” I didn’t get anything. Shit! I slammed my hand into the steering wheel, “Zach! I need you to drive. Now.” Zach switched places with me without question. Alex asked, “What is going on, Micah?” I answered, “I just got a link from Adele! It sounded broken up like a weak cell signal.” Alex growled, “She’s been given wolfsbane. She’s coming out of it. You’re right not to drive. She’s going to keep trying to reach you.” I asked, “How do you know she’s been given wolfsbane?” He replied, “I used to hang out with Uncle Nico’s lead warrior. He has seen and heard everything. He’s told me a lot of shit.” I nodded, “That sounds like a reasonable assumption.”
As Alex drove home, I concentrated on the sibling link, constantly trying to reach our sister. I swear, whoever took her is going to get his head ripped off… after I make him suffer for a week. I want to create wounds and then coat them with salt, then silver. I will cause so much pain; the person will wish for death before I rip his head off. I am lost in all the thoughts of how I will make this person suffer when Alex shook my shoulder, “Dude, we’re home.” I got out of my car and ran to the house. As soon as I got in, I saw grandpa and Uncle Nico sitting in the living room. I sat with them, “She tried to mind link me.” They immediately stopped talking and looked at me. I continued, “She yelled my name and that’s it. I tried to respond, but I guess she couldn’t hear me. Her voice was broken up… like a weak cell signal.” Uncle Nico growled, “Wolfsbane. There goes all the good reasons she could be gone.” Grandpa growled, “This person is going to suffer for a week before I finally allow death.” I laughed, “Grandpa, I thought almost those exact same words. It’s funny how we both thought of suffering for a week though.” Grandpa chuckled, “You always were a lot like me.” I asked, “So what are we doing now?” Uncle Nico replied, “You need to think of any guys that may have been obsessed with her. I know that everyone is overly affectionate with her, but I mean guys who do not want to leave her alone. Even guys from your childhood.” I thought about it until Zach gasped. All eyes went to him and I asked, “What?”
Zach growled, “Dune!”
I hope you liked this chapter. I would love to read your comments.
Micah’s POV I nodded, “I remember Dune, but that was in kindergarten.” Zach shook his head, “No. He has been trying to get him to go out with her for the past ten years. Alex and I have been trying to fight him off, but his magic is pretty powerful.” Uncle Nico asked, “Any idea where this guy lives?” Alex shook his head, “No clue. We haven’t been able to follow him anywhere because he teleports away from us.” I asked, “So why haven’t the two of you told me about this? I had a feeling back then that we were going to see him again. That’s why I have spent my entire life concentrating on my warlock side. I have been strengthening my magic all this time too.” Alex asked, “Can you teleport?” I shrugged, “I’ve never been shown how. Dad has been the one training me. Maybe I should get King Billy.” Zach and Alex laughed, “That doesn’t matter now. Dune was really powerful the last time we saw him. The only reason he got away then was because Adele kicked his ass. As soon as he was down, we got
Adele’s POV I watched as the techs came in and took down all of the cameras and listening devices. Then I pulled one tech aside to hand him the smashed camera that I had pulled from the bathroom, “Is this the one you were looking for in the bathroom?” He nodded, “I’m sorry, princess. It was Dune’s orders.” I laughed, “I knew it was his idea. Not yours. Thanks for taking them down. I need to know; are there any more cameras?” He nodded and turned his back to the remaining camera, “There is one on the dresser, aimed at the bed. It’s in the bear statue. If you smashed that, you could make it look like you found it. If you got close to the TV, you would see it. That show you gave him this morning really pissed him off.” I smiled, “That’s what I was hoping for.” Then I walked away from him and sat on the bed, “Thanks for getting all of them out.” As the tech walked out, I locked the door and slid my foot across the floor, slightly, causing a sheet of ice to form in front of the door. Afte
Micah’s POV I felt a lot better after hearing from Adele. It energized my efforts to find her and rescue her. Judging by the looks on my brothers’ faces, it did the same to them, after I told them about our conversation. We all went to the pack house and used Uncle Nico’s conference room after mom finished mind linking with Adele. I could tell she felt better after hearing her voice. When this is all over, I know my mom will collapse for a couple days. She is running on pure anger and fear combined right now. She will until Adele is home, where she belongs. I don’t blame her. I will be surprised if my brothers and I sleep at all tonight. I came out of my own thoughts to hear King Billy suggest, “I have a spy in the Dark Warrior Coven. I would be willing to bet that he has her in the main house.” I asked, “You’ve been able do that without risking your warlock?” He replied, “I’ve been doing it a lot lately. They’ve been growing in numbers over the last ten years, so I have a few warloc
Adele’s POV When mom mind linked me to tell me that Gabe was actually a white warlock, acting as a dark warlock, I was really happy about that. I’m glad there is at least one person here who is on my side. I had finally gone back to sleep when I heard, “Adele! Are you awake?” I answered, “Huh? Micah! What’s up?” He asked, “We are just worried about you, sis. Are you really as okay as you are telling mom?” I could tell he was relieved to hear my voice when I answered, “My face is a little sore from the hit, but it’s not that bad. I can still sleep through it. Was I dreaming when mom said a warlock named Gabriel would be helping me?” He chuckled, “You were not dreaming, sis. It’s true. We are hoping to do it tomorrow. As long as Dune doesn’t start some shit, it should go okay. In the meantime, you should probably not try to provoke him.” I laughed, “What’s the fun in that? He looks hilarious when he gets red-faced mad.” He warned, “But he could also open up a whole new can of whoop ass
It had been three days since I got back. My external wounds were healed, but my mind was a mess. My emotions went from one extreme to another. One minute I was beyond pissed and I was ready to kick someone’s ass. The next minute I was scared to death and I was hiding in my room with my hands over my ears. It honestly felt like Dune was trying to get into my head. I kept hearing him tell me that I can’t escape him and that he will mark me. I needed to get his voice out of my head. I hadn’t been to my rock since I had been back. I didn’t know if I wanted to go there. Dune had ruined that for me. He had taken so much from me and I didn’t know if I would ever be able to get it back. I wanted my peace back. I wanted my happiness back. I wanted my life back. Right now, I’m studying for my last final exam… Psychology. My brothers had been able to get it rescheduled, and I needed to be able to pass it if I wanted to be able to finish my degrees online. As I read all of my chapters, I came to
After a brief explanation of what I went through while waiting for Alex to come out of the classroom, we relaxed into the seats of dad’s van while we rode to our grandparents’ house. I suggested, “We should go see grandma and grandpa before we leave. I mean Grandma Gabi’s parents.” Mom nodded, “I think that’s an excellent idea.” Mom took out her phone and called them. When she got off the phone, she turned to me, “We will go for supper this evening. We leave for Colorado tomorrow.” Zach moaned, “Aw, man! Why supper? I’ll be miserably full all night.” We all laughed as I poked my brother in the ribs, “Go for a run after you eat. Run some of it off.” Zach replied, “Who can do that? Who can stuff themselves until it’s painful then go on a run. It’s impossible to move, much less run.” I laughed, “You just don’t know how to discipline yourself.” Mom added, “You need to learn to control how much food you put in your mouth.” Micah laughed, “I’ve tried telling him how to do that a lot, but he
I woke up the next morning to Micah hovering over me, “Time to get up, sis. We need to get going. I have to teleport you and your motorcycle home, then everyone else with all the rest of your shit.” I sighed, “You know good and well that mom will be calling Queen Winnie to help you with us. She can use her magic to move my shit before you teleport us.” Micah jerked my blankets off of me and I groaned, as he sighed, “Mom needs to get home early. She has to go to the doctor this afternoon and she is out of her medication. She’s hurting. So, hurry up. You can even take a shower at home. Just brush your teeth and your hair. We can eat when we get home too. I already have a cup of coffee ready for you. It will tide you over until a fresh pot is made at home.” I sighed, “Okay. Just give me five minutes to pack my toiletries and I will be ready. And give me my coffee.” Ok… so it took me ten minutes. That’s what he gets for waking me up the way he did… downright rude. I am so ready to get int
I asked, “What do you mean?” He replied, “That message was from Dune. You don’t need to know what it contained. Just know that it was a photo and we started a conversation about it, acting as if we were you. We are setting up a meeting with him and I want you heavily guarded inside your room and out. You will have female warriors in your room while male warriors are outside your door and throughout our wing. You will be heavily guarded wherever you go. Inside the castle and outside.” I nodded, “I understand, dad. I would like a weapon to carry also. Just in case he uses magic to get in my room and knocks out my guards. We both know that is possible.” Dad replied, “Queen Winnie is going to put a magic resistant dome over the castle. She is also putting a protection spell on you.” I sighed, “Okay. But I still want a weapon.” Dad responded, “If that’s what you need to feel safer, we will get you something.” I insisted, “A want a silver dipped whip.” Dad looked at me in surprise, “Are you
My quadruplets are five years old now and we have added five more children to the family since then. We had a set of triplets when the quad was two, and then a set of twins last year. To say I have been busy would be an understatement. My triplets, Eddie, Cade and Damien are quite the handful. I’ve tried to get Sebastian to intervene, but he just says, “They’re just boys.” My twins, Allie, short for Allison, and Emma turned one today. We had a huge playground installed at the castle and our kids just love it. We are giving all the kids in our children’s age groups the day off from training so we can celebrate the twins’ birthday. As we watched all the kids play, Joshua asked, “Mom, does the quad have to be here?” I laughed because all the kids in our quad are way more intelligent and mature than they should be. By the time they were three all four of them knew how to read and were highly skilled on the computer. I sighed, “But don’t you want to wish the twins a happy birthday?” He ga
Sebastian and I have been officially on the throne for three months and I am now miserably pregnant. My belly is absolutely huge and Sebastian loves watching me waddle everywhere I walk. I, on the other hand, seem to be nesting. I got all of the blankets for our little ones crocheted and I have been doing a lot of extra cleaning lately. I was cleaning the bathroom when Sebastian reminded me, “Babe, we have staff that do that. You don’t need to. If you want to do something for the babies, why don’t you crochet some more stuff. You could make little booties or hats for them. I smiled, “I think you’re right. Thank you.” I grabbed some yarn and a hook and sat down on the couch. I got up almost immediately and started walking away. Sebastian asked, “What’s wrong?” I sighed, “I have to pee… again.” He chuckled, “It’s almost over, babe.” I smiled, “I know.” I got to the bathroom and felt a gush of water. I knew I hadn’t peed, then looked down at the puddle under my feet. I walked back to the
When Sebastian and I got to the hall entrance the doors were closed and they were waiting for everyone to take their places. While we waited, I looked around us. There was a man behind Sebastian who was highlighted in red. With one hand, I conjured a dagger of ice. Just as he was raising is hand with a dagger of his own, I threw my dagger at him and it pierced his eye and went into his brain. He instantly fell backward, dead. Sebastian looked at me, surprised, “Was it a highlighted one?” I chuckled, “He was literally seconds from plunging a dagger into your back. I’m just glad I saw him.” He smiled, “I’m glad you did too.” Just then, the doors opened and we locked arms. I guess I was gripping his arm a little tighter than I meant to because he mumbled, “You are cutting off the circulation to my hand, love. Relax.” I chuckled as I loosened my grip on his arm, “Sorry, babe.” He chuckled, “No problem.” When we got to the stage, we walked up the steps and stood in front of King Quincy and
I woke up the next morning with my first thought being, “Holy shit! Today is Coronation Day!” I didn’t even take a second to stretch before jumping out of bed and practically running to the bathroom to take a shower. After taking my shower, I went to our closet and put on a sundress until it was time to get ready for the event. I went to the kitchen and poured myself a cup of coffee and sat in my favorite chaise lounge chair by the windows. I hadn’t been there long when my mom walked in. She poured a cup of coffee for herself and sat at the other end of my chair looking out the windows, “Are these the same kind of windows we have?” I nodded, “Yep. I like the idea of me seeing out, but no one can see in.” Mom agreed, “I always liked that too. Are you ready for your crowning ceremony?” I smiled, “I am. I was nervous at first, but Queen Lori told me that I’ve been doing the duties of a queen since I got here.” Mom laughed, “Being a queen is no different than being a luna. You are the moth
We spent more time than we originally planned in town and we had so much fun. After more baby shopping, Sebastian took me to a bakery that also sold ice cream. I ordered a jelly donut and a scoop of cherry ice cream, while Sebastian went with the classic apple turnover with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I reveled in the taste of my sweet treat and Sebastian laughed at me. I shrugged, “What? It’s good.” I filled a fork full of it and held it to his lips. He took a bite and smiled, “I guess you’re right. I never thought of that combination.” I smiled, “Now, I just need to learn how to make jelly filled donuts. I already know how to make the regular ones.” His eyes went wide, “You know how to make donuts?” I laughed, “I do. Would you like those for breakfast tomorrow?” He replied, “Probably not tomorrow. We should eat in the dining room tomorrow morning with it being coronation day and all the guests we have coming.” I looked at my phone and gasped, “Guests! My family is probably at the c
I woke up this morning, stretching and enjoying the sunlight streaming into our room. We have been moved into our wing of the castle for almost a full week and I have been thoroughly enjoying being able to cook for my mate. Once in a while we invite his parents over for dinner, just to see how they like being out of the castle and to consult with them on small issues. I got out of bed and headed to our kitchen to grab a cup of coffee. I moved to the chaise lounge by the window and sat there, looking outside, while I drank my coffee to wake up for a bit. As I sat there, I had to think about everything that needed to be done today. It’s the day before our coronation, so my family will be here today. I’m so excited to see them. As busy as I have been, I still miss them. I finish my first cup of coffee and sigh as I get out of my chair. I went to the kitchen and started making the biscuits for breakfast. As soon as they were cut out, I started making the sausage and bacon. When the sausa
It has been a week since Yahir was captured. King Quincy had sentenced him to death after one week of taking fifty whip lashes daily. Today is the day he is put to death and I am looking forward to it. His mate’s parents were sitting in front of us and I placed one hand on the mother’s shoulder and my other hand on her father’s shoulder in a gesture of comfort. I released a small amount of my omega waves and they visibly relaxed. The mother smiled at me, “Thank you, princess.” I smiled, “You’re very welcome. This may get a little gross. Let me know if you need more.” She smiled, “Thank you.” Just minutes later, Yahir was brought out, his entire backside, including the backs of his legs, was covered in bloody slashes. He was led to a wall, his arms spread out and wrists cuffed to the wall. His ankles restrained to the wall with his shackles. King Quincy sat in his throne and one of the warriors stepped forward to face us, “We are here to witness the execution of Yahir for the charges o
When they landed, I noticed that their hands were all forced to stay straight at their sides. The man in front was a tall, slim, man with long brown hair and brown eyes. I noticed that his eyes looked sunken in and his complexion pale. The men behind him looked like death warmed over. They were all skinny, eyes sunken in, and pale complexions, so I knew something had happened to them that was making them waste away. Possibly a rejection. The man in front stood there with a smirk on his face, “So you figured out a way to find me. I have to tell you, though, this isn’t all of my army.” Queen Lori laughed, “The rest are probably in our dungeons.” Queen Winnie added, “Or they aren’t very committed to your cause.” Yahir responded, “No, they are just good at hiding.” I laughed, “I guess we will find out.” King Quincy had some warriors grab them, “Take them to the dungeons and guard Yahir diligently.” After the guards took them away, Queen Winnie raised her arms again and cast the spell agai
It has been two weeks since Crystal moved away and she couldn’t be happier. She called us the night after she moved to the new town and told us that Alpha Abel is her mate! They are taking their time, he wants to be sure she trusts him before they mark and mate each other. She has already started warrior training and is super happy with it. She and I are starting to become friends and I am so happy to see the confident woman she is becoming. The other woman who wanted to reject her mate, Katie, was able to do just that the following day. We were able to get her and her child new identities and moved them to another town that is thirty miles away. She was able to get a job as a bookkeeper for the pack and is very happy just concentrating on giving her daughter a better life. I am so happy for her each time we speak. Meanwhile, we have been watching the training classes and the great improvements each class has made. Now that we have a comfortable schedule for the women’s classes, I as
