Bridget and I started macerating our berries, then I asked, “How are you with peeling onions?” She responded with a raised eyebrow, “I burn frozen pizza.” That made me laugh out loud and mom asked, “What’s so funny?” I laughed, “I’m trying to teach Bridget how to cook. When I asked her how she is with peeling onions, she told me she burns frozen pizza.” Mom laughed as she put a comforting hand on Bridget’s shoulder, “It’s okay, sweetie. We all have to start somewhere. She’s been cooking since she was tall enough to stand on a stool to see what is in a pot. She’s been baking even longer.” I smiled, “We are making a beef roast for supper tonight.” Mom smiled, “Sounds amazing.” Then she looked into the bowls with the macerating fruit, “Let me guess… Blackberry muffins and blueberry cobbler.” I nodded and laughed while mom explained, “She hates blueberries, so she puts them in things she won’t want to eat.” Bridget laughed as mom walked away. I took a knife and an onion and got Bridget’s a

Dad growled, “I don’t want you anywhere near the fighting. You’ve been through enough and who is to say that Dune wasn’t acting on his father’s orders when he took you and tried to forcefully mark you?” Mom agreed, “I would rather have you here, in the house, taking care of me and your father. We are too weak to fight out there. We will be using our magic.” I contributed, “But I have the elements of wind and water. I can create tornadoes or a sheet of ice under their feet.” Mom looked at dad, “That’s something she can do from a distance.” I smiled, “I can also make ice spears.” I started with my hands closed and spread them wide, forming an ice spear in the space between them, “See?” Mom smiled, “You must be storing more waves than I ever could.” I shrugged, “Each generation is stronger than the last.” Mom agreed, “That is true with werewolves.” I sat at the table, just thinking to myself, just wondering if I was going to get to test my theory. I wondered if ice spears would kill a wa

As I continued hurling spears and daggers into red, glowing, eyes, a thought occurred to me; how am I going to do this when daylight hits in just a few hours? I’m not going to be able to see glowing eyes. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a blackberry muffin for some instant energy. I sat at the table, eating my muffin and contemplating life when Billy sat next to me, “How are you holding up, little one?” I chuckled, “About as well as can be expected for a broken warrior.” Billy asked, “Why are you broken?” I explained, “I thought killing Dune would stop my night terrors and flashbacks, but I just added to it. Now I keep hearing him ask why I didn’t just let him mark me.” Billy sighed, “I can’t say I understand how you feel, but I do know that Dark Warlocks are sadistic beasts. They do everything they can to cause as much terror, pain and anguish as possible. What you are doing right now is exactly what they were aiming for.” I sighed, “I know you’re right, but it’s so hard not to play

Micah looked on the floor and found the dead warlocks, “What did you kill them with?” I formed an ice dagger and handed it to him, “This. I heard them and Singarti told me there were two in there… one on either side of the door. So, I opened the door and killed them both.” Micah smiled, “That’s my sis. A real warrior.” I just chuckled and shook my head, “Can you guys get the bodies out of here so I can get a little sleep?” Micah and Zach each took a body while Alex checked my closet, bathroom and every space that a person could hide. When he walked out, he smiled at me, “All clear, sis. Not that you couldn’t have handled this by yourself.” I laughed, “Thanks. Would you ask Queen Winnie to come in?” He nodded and left. Queen Winnie knocked on my door, even though it was already open, and I waved her in. I asked, “Is there a way to check for dark warlocks who are invisible? I just killed two who were hiding by my door, waiting to grab me.” Winnie asked, “How did they get in here? Even i

I smiled, “Sweet! It’s working! So, does anyone know how the spell stopped working to begin with?” Billy replied, “They found a small opening in the shield just outside Bridget’s room. The spell was cast years ago, so it was bound to weaken at some point. We just simply didn’t realize how long ago it was. You kids weren’t even a thought yet when that spell was cast, so it was time. It’s even stronger this time because Winnie had some help.” I smiled, “Ya’ll are awesome! But I still think we are going to sleep on the sectional until this thing is over. It might reduce my nightmares, and Bridget shouldn’t be climbing those stairs until her concussion is better.” Bridget started to get up, “I’m fine. I just have a small headache.” She stood up and got dizzy. I jumped up, “No, you are not fine. You need to take it easy.” I walked to the kitchen thinking that I should make some chicken soup for Bridget. When I got there, I found Grandma Abby already working on it. I hugged her, “You read

Sebastian POV I woke up to the sound of my tiger, Zion, waking me up, “Seb! You need to get out of bed. There is some major stuff happening, and we should really help out with it.” I asked, “Why are you in such a hurry to get over there?” Zion replied, “Something big is going to happen. I can feel it.” I kept feeling him pulling in my head, trying to get me to move. I sighed, “Seriously, dude! It’s not even daylight yet!” He yelled in my head, “Get a move on!” I rolled out of bed and took a quick shower. After I got dressed, I took my phone off the charger and looked at the time. I yelled at my tiger, “WTF Zion! It’s only three a.m. What the hell could be happening that is so freaking urgent, it needed me out of bed this early?” I went to the kitchen and decided to cook breakfast, for a change. I usually only have cereal, but I’m taking my time, just to piss off Zion. Speaking of Zion, he is now in my head roaring at me, “Move your ass! We are needed and I’m getting a strange feeling

Adele POV I slapped myself in the forehead and groaned, “Zach, please come meet my mate, Sebastian Renault.” Zach smiled widely while I whispered, “Oh no! Get ready. They’re about to get embarrassing.” I heard Sebastian chuckle lowly as Zach opened the back door of the house and yelled at the top of his lungs, “Guys! Adele found her mate!” I buried my face in his chest, “Oh shit. Brace yourself.” Suddenly, a flood of people ran toward us. All three of my brothers, my parents, all of my grandparents, plus all the supernatural leaders who were in the house. Sebastian’s eyes went wide, “Oh shit.” I laughed, “I warned you.” I stood in front of Sebastian and spread my arms wide, “WAIT!” Everyone skidded to a halt and I smiled, “Okay, everyone, this is my mate, Sebastian. I need each of you to introduce yourself with just your name and relationship to me. That’s it. I do not want to overload him with information. Plus, we still have dark warlocks out there.” Sebastian leaned down to get clo

Sebastian looked at me with nothing but concern, “Screaming?” I replied, “Yeah. The final battle with him was a little nightmarish. Plus, my nightmares also include the headless body of the first white warlock who helped me. I just can’t help feeling guilty that he lost his life while helping me.” Sebastian pulled me close, “I know you’ve heard it a million times, but you know that wasn’t your fault.” I shrugged, “It’s hard not to feel like it is. Same with King Uther of the dragon kingdom. He was on his way to come to the alliance meeting when the dark warlocks got him. It was horrible for his family because they had hung his dead body upside down over their foyer.” Sebastian responded, “That was on him too, but that sounds more like the dark warlocks were trying to make a statement and King Uther was just the easiest target. I’m sure it wouldn’t have been easy to get his hands on angels, demons, or fairies.” I nodded, “I agree completely. It doesn’t make me feel any better though. En

Sebastian POV My mate could not be more perfect. I know she has some scars that desperately need to be healed, and we will work on those. For now, we need to get rid of all these dark warlocks trying to take what is mine. I stepped away from everyone and called my dad. He’s kind of an asshole, but I know he loves me. My dad answered on the second ring, “Hey son, how’s it going?” I smiled at his cheery greeting, “It’s been an eventful morning, dad.” He asked, “What’s going on?” I chuckled, “Well, I have found my mate.” I heard a click and dad asked me to repeat myself. I repeated, “I found my mate this morning.” I heard my mom, “Oh. My. GODDESS!!! You have to tell us all about her, son! I’m so happy for you!” I laughed, “Well, her name is Adele, she is a princess of both the Werebear and Lycan kingdoms, she is a kickass fighter, an amazing cook and she needs our help.” Dad asked, “That last part was a bit of a surprise. What is going on?” I explained, “Long story short, there is a cove

My quadruplets are five years old now and we have added five more children to the family since then. We had a set of triplets when the quad was two, and then a set of twins last year. To say I have been busy would be an understatement. My triplets, Eddie, Cade and Damien are quite the handful. I’ve tried to get Sebastian to intervene, but he just says, “They’re just boys.” My twins, Allie, short for Allison, and Emma turned one today. We had a huge playground installed at the castle and our kids just love it. We are giving all the kids in our children’s age groups the day off from training so we can celebrate the twins’ birthday. As we watched all the kids play, Joshua asked, “Mom, does the quad have to be here?” I laughed because all the kids in our quad are way more intelligent and mature than they should be. By the time they were three all four of them knew how to read and were highly skilled on the computer. I sighed, “But don’t you want to wish the twins a happy birthday?” He ga

Sebastian and I have been officially on the throne for three months and I am now miserably pregnant. My belly is absolutely huge and Sebastian loves watching me waddle everywhere I walk. I, on the other hand, seem to be nesting. I got all of the blankets for our little ones crocheted and I have been doing a lot of extra cleaning lately. I was cleaning the bathroom when Sebastian reminded me, “Babe, we have staff that do that. You don’t need to. If you want to do something for the babies, why don’t you crochet some more stuff. You could make little booties or hats for them. I smiled, “I think you’re right. Thank you.” I grabbed some yarn and a hook and sat down on the couch. I got up almost immediately and started walking away. Sebastian asked, “What’s wrong?” I sighed, “I have to pee… again.” He chuckled, “It’s almost over, babe.” I smiled, “I know.” I got to the bathroom and felt a gush of water. I knew I hadn’t peed, then looked down at the puddle under my feet. I walked back to the

When Sebastian and I got to the hall entrance the doors were closed and they were waiting for everyone to take their places. While we waited, I looked around us. There was a man behind Sebastian who was highlighted in red. With one hand, I conjured a dagger of ice. Just as he was raising is hand with a dagger of his own, I threw my dagger at him and it pierced his eye and went into his brain. He instantly fell backward, dead. Sebastian looked at me, surprised, “Was it a highlighted one?” I chuckled, “He was literally seconds from plunging a dagger into your back. I’m just glad I saw him.” He smiled, “I’m glad you did too.” Just then, the doors opened and we locked arms. I guess I was gripping his arm a little tighter than I meant to because he mumbled, “You are cutting off the circulation to my hand, love. Relax.” I chuckled as I loosened my grip on his arm, “Sorry, babe.” He chuckled, “No problem.” When we got to the stage, we walked up the steps and stood in front of King Quincy and

I woke up the next morning with my first thought being, “Holy shit! Today is Coronation Day!” I didn’t even take a second to stretch before jumping out of bed and practically running to the bathroom to take a shower. After taking my shower, I went to our closet and put on a sundress until it was time to get ready for the event. I went to the kitchen and poured myself a cup of coffee and sat in my favorite chaise lounge chair by the windows. I hadn’t been there long when my mom walked in. She poured a cup of coffee for herself and sat at the other end of my chair looking out the windows, “Are these the same kind of windows we have?” I nodded, “Yep. I like the idea of me seeing out, but no one can see in.” Mom agreed, “I always liked that too. Are you ready for your crowning ceremony?” I smiled, “I am. I was nervous at first, but Queen Lori told me that I’ve been doing the duties of a queen since I got here.” Mom laughed, “Being a queen is no different than being a luna. You are the moth

We spent more time than we originally planned in town and we had so much fun. After more baby shopping, Sebastian took me to a bakery that also sold ice cream. I ordered a jelly donut and a scoop of cherry ice cream, while Sebastian went with the classic apple turnover with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I reveled in the taste of my sweet treat and Sebastian laughed at me. I shrugged, “What? It’s good.” I filled a fork full of it and held it to his lips. He took a bite and smiled, “I guess you’re right. I never thought of that combination.” I smiled, “Now, I just need to learn how to make jelly filled donuts. I already know how to make the regular ones.” His eyes went wide, “You know how to make donuts?” I laughed, “I do. Would you like those for breakfast tomorrow?” He replied, “Probably not tomorrow. We should eat in the dining room tomorrow morning with it being coronation day and all the guests we have coming.” I looked at my phone and gasped, “Guests! My family is probably at the c

I woke up this morning, stretching and enjoying the sunlight streaming into our room. We have been moved into our wing of the castle for almost a full week and I have been thoroughly enjoying being able to cook for my mate. Once in a while we invite his parents over for dinner, just to see how they like being out of the castle and to consult with them on small issues. I got out of bed and headed to our kitchen to grab a cup of coffee. I moved to the chaise lounge by the window and sat there, looking outside, while I drank my coffee to wake up for a bit. As I sat there, I had to think about everything that needed to be done today. It’s the day before our coronation, so my family will be here today. I’m so excited to see them. As busy as I have been, I still miss them. I finish my first cup of coffee and sigh as I get out of my chair. I went to the kitchen and started making the biscuits for breakfast. As soon as they were cut out, I started making the sausage and bacon. When the sausa

It has been a week since Yahir was captured. King Quincy had sentenced him to death after one week of taking fifty whip lashes daily. Today is the day he is put to death and I am looking forward to it. His mate’s parents were sitting in front of us and I placed one hand on the mother’s shoulder and my other hand on her father’s shoulder in a gesture of comfort. I released a small amount of my omega waves and they visibly relaxed. The mother smiled at me, “Thank you, princess.” I smiled, “You’re very welcome. This may get a little gross. Let me know if you need more.” She smiled, “Thank you.” Just minutes later, Yahir was brought out, his entire backside, including the backs of his legs, was covered in bloody slashes. He was led to a wall, his arms spread out and wrists cuffed to the wall. His ankles restrained to the wall with his shackles. King Quincy sat in his throne and one of the warriors stepped forward to face us, “We are here to witness the execution of Yahir for the charges o

When they landed, I noticed that their hands were all forced to stay straight at their sides. The man in front was a tall, slim, man with long brown hair and brown eyes. I noticed that his eyes looked sunken in and his complexion pale. The men behind him looked like death warmed over. They were all skinny, eyes sunken in, and pale complexions, so I knew something had happened to them that was making them waste away. Possibly a rejection. The man in front stood there with a smirk on his face, “So you figured out a way to find me. I have to tell you, though, this isn’t all of my army.” Queen Lori laughed, “The rest are probably in our dungeons.” Queen Winnie added, “Or they aren’t very committed to your cause.” Yahir responded, “No, they are just good at hiding.” I laughed, “I guess we will find out.” King Quincy had some warriors grab them, “Take them to the dungeons and guard Yahir diligently.” After the guards took them away, Queen Winnie raised her arms again and cast the spell agai
