One's Priority (4)

Tap. Tap. Tap. There was the sound of footsteps approaching me! Damn it, I was flustered by my own stupidity to not notice someone else's presence here.

"Who are you?"

No wonder my journey so far has been smooth and safe. I didn't expect everything to lead me to a stroke of bad luck like this. It's been a long time since I've felt the tension in my veins. Even when I snuck into this palace twice before, I didn't feel this kind of tension.

Well, maybe because during those two times I only struggled with a few maids who didn't intimidate me and more or less ignored me. But now it's different. The man walking behind me is currently giving off a suppressing aura.

"Hey, I asked, who are you?" The man's voice sounded threatening.

He stopped right behind me. I swallowed hard in my dry throat.

It's all about flight or fight. But in my current situation, a flight is not the right choice unless I want to be chased because of suspicion. So, my last option is to 'fight'. I turned around. I found
