Ryder carried a tray of sandwiches and milk up to Ava's old room. He opened the door and entered.

Evena was fast asleep on the bed. Ryder set down the tray and sat beside him on the bed.

He reached out and slowly stroked his hair. Evena looked tired, exhausted even. He must have gone through a lot trying to wake him up.

Evena stirred and opened his eyes. "Ryder?"

Evena took it from him and started to munch on the sandwiches.

"You see why I had to find a way to wake you up. You are the only one who feeds me" Evena told him.
