The other lady, who seemed interested in the gossip, was uncomfortable to listen due to the environment they were in.

She turned to Eunice and pointed at the items she had chosen, and booked appointments for her makeup.

After paying, she hurried out of the store before her companion could say anything more terrible.

I smiled. Linnet was behaving strangely and it got the people talking. It's only a matter of time before I sent her to the psychiatrist.

I returned home late in the evening, and Aster was waiting for me. As soon as I walked in, he pulled me into his arms.

"You look tired," he said.

"I'm exhausted," I replied.

After the pack women left, a flood of customers arrived, all needing their hair and makeup done. Then, I had to attend a business meeting with a representative from Great Stars Entertainment for a contract signing.

They wanted me to be the costume designer for their upcoming movie. It was one of the largest and most successful entertainment companies in the country

For a split second, the room remained silent before murmurs began to spread."Do you have any problems with that?" Aster asked, his voice chilling. His eyes darkened as he stared at Cornello with such intensity that the man was forced to look away."Hmm, not that I have an issue with your decision," Zanto, one of the council members I had asked Ryder to investigate, said. "But Darius can no longer hold any office in this pack because of what happened in the past."Zanto was the one who had laughed the hardest when Cornello called me a lunatic after I reported the atrocities the Shadow Moons committed against my pack to the council. He had sneered, claiming lunacy ran in my bloodline. Watching him speak now, I was reminded of that laughter, and I couldn't wait to return the favor when his downfall came. Before Zanto could finish, his companion Francis stood up."We can't allow this! Darius' family has no right to hold such a position of power in thi

“And I want my own office. As the Luna of this pack, I have my own special agenda, and I can't wait to start working.”This time, there was no smile on Aster's face. He was neither angry nor happy—just shocked and surprised.ASTERI had never noticed the allure Valeria carried until now. She looked beautiful yet cold, her eyes bottomless—like an immortal fairy who had come to live among mortals. Her light golden hair gleamed, highlighting her ocean-blue orbs. She curled her bright red lips, and my heart twitched."Damn, I'm so lucky to be her husband," I thought to myself.“My Luna will have whatever she wants. She will serve side by side with me. I trust everyone understands this?” I said. The council members nodded in agreement. Lanzo, Bernard, and Oscar—the three council members from the weaker packs—did not object. Not that their opinions mattered much; the real power lay with Cornello, Zanto, and Francis, the three council members from the wealthy and dominant packs. Before I cou

Cornello was dumbstruck. When had he slapped me? How?“Please believe me, my Alpha. I didn’t do anything to her! I swear I didn’t slap her!”I cried harder. “Look at my face. Who else could have hit me just now?”Aster’s eyes darkened. He had heard the sound of a slap and I was alone with Cornello. When he looked at my face, he saw the imprint of five fingers on my cheek. His expression turned red with fury.In an instant, Aster grabbed Cornello by the shirt and struck him hard across the face. Cornello staggered backward, but before he could fall, Aster seized him again and landed another punch—this time knocking out two of his teeth. The other council members rushed in and restrained Aster.“You dare lay your filthy hands on my queen?” he roared, his chest heaving with rage. Oscar and Bernard flinched at the sound.Aster tried to wipe my tears, but when he touched my

The next morning, news of what happened to Cornello spread like wildfire. While some supported the Alpha’s actions, others saw it as karma finally catching up with the old fool. However, there were a few who believed Cornello had been wrongly treated—but they could only murmur their thoughts, too afraid to say them out loud.Despite the rumors, I made my way to the pack hospital with Ryder, my assistant, Phinaline, my special advisor, and two of Ryder’s men who also served as my bodyguards. When we arrived, Cornello was alone. His wife had just left the hospital to fetch a few items he would need during his stay.I entered with Phinaline and Ryder. The moment Cornello saw me, he became terrified, begging for mercy.“Please, my Luna, don’t hurt me! I won’t anger you again—just show me mercy!”I chuckled.“Mercy? That’s a word I’ve long forgotten. You dared to slap your Luna. You should be grateful all you lost was your hand. Next time, it won’t end there.”Cornello was speechless. When

VALERIA Darren was doing his best, along with a few maids, to hold Linnet down. But she was completely untamed—shooting, kicking, and demanding they let her go.“Please, Val, help Linnet! Get that substance you gave her last night—maybe it can calm her down!” Aster pleaded.“What substance? What are you talking about?” Abigail asked between sobs.“Mom, don’t mind Aster,” I said. “Last night, Linnet had a fever, and I just dissolved some painkillers into her water since she couldn’t swallow pills. It brought the fever down. But this… this isn’t a fever. We need to take her to a psychiatric hospital to find out what’s really wrong.”Abigail’s face turned white, and all her usual grace vanished.“My daughter is not a lunatic! She’s just going through a hard time, and I’m sure she’ll be fine soon.”“Then why do you think her husband abandoned her here?” I said calmly. “Don’t you think it’s because of her recent behavior?”Abigail's expression twisted in shock, but I didn’t care. It’ll help you relax,” he said, retrieving the oil from my dresser before getting to work.“You need to take off your clothes so I can massage your back properly.”No way!“Hmm... I think I’m fine. Just sing to me instead—I’ll feel better.”Aster chuckled. “Don’t worry, I promise I won’t look. Just take it off.”“My hands hurt—I can’t do it myself. Why don’t you help me instead?” I teased.Aster’s expression froze. He stared at me, his face pale.“Are you tempting me? That would come with punishment. Are you sure you still want me to do it?”“Never mind, I’ll do it myself,” I said quickly.Aster looked visibly relieved, but the moment I sat up, I darted toward the door. He was faster. He grabbed me and pulled me back, and we tumbled onto the bed. His arms wrapped around my waist as I burst into laughter at my failed escape. He l

"Someone has been feeding her mercury all this time. That’s why she’s hallucinating and constantly in pain.""What?!"No. That couldn’t be. I mumbled under my breath, trying to grasp what I’d just heard. Who dared to intercept my plans? I couldn’t believe it—until I saw her.Linnet stood there, dressed in a hospital gown, looking distant yet eerily calm. Her eyes were glassy, unfocused. She didn’t recognize us—didn’t even notice we were there. It was like she was lost in a world far beyond our reach.I curled up in Aster’s arms, burying my face against his chest. He gently stroked my hair, his hand patting my back in silent consolation."Who did this to her?" I whispered."We don’t know yet," Darren replied. "But all the maids have been arrested. Since Linnet was admitted to the hospital, I hadn’t seen Eric. No one had. The Shadow Moon brothers were too busy with the investigation, while Abigail clung desperately to her only daughter. None of them noticed their son-in-law’s absence—except me, of course.By the time I arrived at the Black Wolf Pack, night had already fallen. I killed the engine and stepped out into the cool air, walking purposefully toward the Alpha lounge. A young woman, one of the maids greeted me. After I introduced myself, she informed me that the Alpha was training alone in the backyard and pointed me in the right direction. The moment I stepped onto the training ground, someone grabbed me from behind and slammed me against the wall.Fast. Unexpected.I instantly regretted not bringing a bodyguard, but their presence would’ve drawn attention I couldn’t afford.“What are you doing here?” a low, husky voice growled into my ear.“What exactly do you want from me?” he whispered again, his breath hot against my

“She has everything to do with this,” Darius hissed without looking back. He continued brushing his hand through the girl’s hair, his tone sharpening like a blade. “You came into our land. You threatened our people. You thought there’d be no consequences?”He gripped the back of the girl’s neck, wrenching a cry from her lips.“You fucker! Stop it!” Emos shouted, trying again to break free. But the ropes held.Darius turned his head slightly, his voice now thick with contempt. “You dared come here to hurt our daughters. And now you beg me to spare yours?” He shook his head. “Why should I show mercy when you showed none?”The two adult women and the the boy stood frozen in horror as Darius manhandled the girl, their eyes wide and helpless.Emos’s gaze darted around the room, frantic, desperate for help—anything that could turn the tide. But Miguel and Alex stood still, arms behind their backs and their expressions unreadable. No help would come from them.Defeated, Emos dropped his head

“Because,” I said coldly, “my man shattered your spine.”Darius grinned wickedly.Without wasting another word on him, he turned to the second man. This one was quieter, more composed, but clearly in pain. His dark hair was tied into a ponytail, and tattoos covered his broad chest and arms. His sharp blue eyes fixed on Darius with silent defiance. The brown-haired one started thrashing again, desperate and futile. Even paralyzed, he tried to fight. He pulled against the restraints until his energy finally drained and his body sagged forward in defeat.“Now that that’s over with,” Darius muttered. He dragged a chair across the room and positioned it directly in front of the man with the ponytail. Then he sat down, one leg crossed over the other, and leaned back, studying his prey like a predator deciding when to strike.“Do you know who I am?” he asked softly. The man said nothing, his jaw tight, teeth grinding in pain. He refused to look away, but he wasn’t speaking either. I’d dealt

“Then make them talk,” I thundered, slamming my hand down on the desk. “Don’t make me think you’re useless, Darius.”The words echoed in the small room like a threat, and the tension thickened. My glare sharpened, my eyes darkened with the weight of my power. A frosty energy rippled through the air, curling into the corners of the room like smoke. But Darius didn’t flinch. Not because he was defying me, but because something in my outburst sparked a memory—something from a life he once lived, a title he once bore. The shadows deepened, swallowing the light, and I felt a sweaty drip on my forehead despite the cold.He clenched his fists, jaw tight, teeth grinding with a sound that filled the heavy silence between us. For a moment, we stared at each other, locked in thought—me, simmering with barely restrained anger, and him, standing with quiet resolve. Then, slowly, a small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, softening the tension like a sudden breeze. The darkness receded. And

I kissed her gently, her soft breaths growing steady as sleep claimed her. She curled around me like an octopus, wrapping herself around my body, drawing in my warmth as if it could chase away the ghosts of the night. I sighed, staring at the ceiling, the guilt settling deeper in my chest. I felt worse than I had before—worse than I deserved. Claiming her had been selfish, cruel even. And it had been her first time.Carefully, I slipped out of bed, unable to bear the weight of my guilt. My feet carried me toward the woods, blindly, instinctively, running until dawn began to stain the sky with pale light.I was just returning to my lounge, the chill of morning clinging to my skin, when Darius called. His voice was urgent. Our pack was under attack. This would be my first battle as Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack.Darius had been on patrol when he spotted the rogues. He’d rushed ahead to the scene and urged me to bring reinforcements. As I sprinted toward the pack house to arm myself, I ca

ASTERI looked at Valeria’s face as it battered in blood; her once smooth and flawless face turned brutal and masked with the blood of the rouge's, which made it look even more alluring. I wanted to touch her, to have her there and now, but she refused saying she was filthy. Did she know how intoxicating that word is? Yeah, I love my women filthy in every bedroom sense.Thinking of these, my heart clenched as I recall last night when she sat so close to my brother Darren. I can't stop feeling that she is drawn to Darren, or rather, Darren was drawn to her. Such thinking makes my heart clenched. When I came back home from the office last night and couldn't find her, I had to call her line more than twenty times. She left us at the hospital and rushed off, and I thought she was devastated because of Linnet's health condition and needed some time alone to process it, so I let her be, but when it passed midnight, and she wasn't home, I became worried and started calling her line. I

VALERIA My words must have caught Aster off guard. He stared at me for a beat, then a slow, dark smile crept onto his lips. His fingers grazed my cheek.“Alright then,” he murmured. “Let’s finish this.”He halted in front of a heavy steel door, punched in a string of numbers, and with a metallic click, the lock disengaged. The door swung open to reveal a private armory—walls lined with weapons, each one deadlier than the last. The room smelled of oil and blood, as if it had witnessed violence too often.Aster strode forward, selecting his gear with chilling efficiency. Guns, blades, explosives. War lived in his bones.“Take what you need,” he said, his voice low, urgent.I didn’t need to be told twice. I reached for the knives—long, silver, and razor-sharp. I’ve always preferred steel that sings when it meets flesh. There's something intimate about killing up close, about watching the light fade from your enemy's eyes. I strapped on as many as I could carry, changing swiftly into gear

By morning, my body ached in places I didn’t know could ache.Damn that wild animal. Aster had ravaged me in the most wicked way—and I had loved every second of it.The room was quiet when I woke, but he was gone. I forced myself out of bed and dragged my sore body into the bathroom. After a long shower, I returned to find breakfast waiting, delivered by the new chef, Enzo. I didn’t have the energy to face the Shadow Moons today. When Enzo returned to collect the tray, he handed me a folded note.It was from Thalia.“Meet me in my room in ten minutes.”I smirked. Little bitch, I thought, crumpling the paper and tossing it in the trash.Still, I decided to visit her before heading out to the pack house.Thalia was lounging on the couch sipping some nourishing herbal tea. Like ours, their suite had a separate sitting room, bedroom, private bathrooms, and even a mini kitchen. She looked up and smiled—calculated and fake.“Sit, Valeria,” she said sweetly. I obeyed, watching her carefully.

Darren recoiled instantly, pushing me gently aside as he rose to his feet. His eyes were wide—shock painted across his face.I didn’t have to turn to know who was behind us.Thalia.I wasn’t sure how long she had been standing there, but judging by the tight line of her lips and the distant flicker in her eyes, she'd heard more than enough. My stomach twisted—but not with guilt. Let her feel what I felt two years ago. The pain of betrayal.“Thalia?” Darren stammered, already moving toward her, his voice heavy with panic. “What are you doing here? Aren’t you asleep?”“I had a bad dream,” she murmured, stepping into his arms like she belonged there. “I woke up and couldn’t find you, so I came looking. I was about to head into the kitchen when I heard your voice… Valeria—is she okay?”Her voice trembled—just slightly. Enough to make her sound fragile, concerned and perfectly innocent. She was good.Too good for her acting. And Darren, ever the fool for her, bought it—like he always did.

"Are you really sending me away tonight? You're such a heartless brother-in-law.""You should have thought of that before trying to seduce me," Eric said coldly, walking into the house without sparing me another glance.I smiled faintly and turned toward my car. It was clear now—someone else was after Linnet. But who? When I arrived at the Shadow Moon mansion, the whole place was cloaked in silence. It looked deserted, the only signs of life being the guards stationed at the entrance. They nodded in greeting, and I returned the gesture before heading inside.Just as I stepped onto the staircase, I spotted Darren in the hallway. He appeared to be returning to his room but stopped when he saw me. He waited at the top of the stairs until I reached him.“Darren,” I called softly.“Valeria? What are you doing awake at this hour? Are you just getting back?”There was no point denying it. I sighed. “Yes. I went to see Eric. I wanted to know why he abandoned Linnet at such a critical time.”A
