Overlooked

A hunched back old lady with a headful of white hair walked into view reaching out his stick as if to feel something. The old Lady's eyes were closed shut. It could not be any more obvious that she was blind.

Just as she was about to speak, she ended up coughing intensely instead.

"I thought you said you live alone?" Diana asked as she turned to look at the old lady.

Cough cough! Her coughing intensified further as she started to vomit.

"Mum?" Jason dashed forward to support his mum.

Nevertheless, he was given a fright when he saw the black blood his mum, Sonia had coughed out.

At the sight of the scene, Diana furrowed her brows at once. Evidently, Sonia was injured and her injury was worsening. Staring at her, Diana was surprised how this old lady has been able to survive despite the injury in her right lung and the hole in her heart.

She could diagnose her sickness with a mere look and observation..

"Quickly, carry her to a room" Diana snapped into action and ordered Jason who was already in panic.

Unfortunately, he didn't move at all. He had called the doctor few minutes ago and he'll arrive in a minute time according to his calculation. And secondly, he knew Diana. She obviously didn't have medicinal abilities.

"The doctor will be here soon. I need go get her stabilized!" Jason responded instead of dropping into action.

"Damnit!"

Frowning at Jason's inaction, Diana snapped, "Do you want to watch her die?"

"No, ma'am" Jason responded after he was shouted at. He quickly helped Sonia to a bedroom close-by.

Inside, Diana stepped into action, which gave Jason so much thought... He can't afford to lose his mum, though she was old. Diana who he knows to have clearly no medicinal abilities could worsen his mum's situation.

Inside, Diana was searching for Sonia's pulse right away. However, her expression turned stern the moment she did. Her condition was actually more serious than she initially had thought and diagnosed.

While Diana was treating Sonia, a bespectacled man in white lab coat barged into the room. He was carrying his medical bag and holding stethoscope with his other hand.

"Dr, Steve, Hurry. My mum had been coughing intensely and just vomited blood! A black blood!" Jason quickly reported. The moment he saw the doctor he felt he had managed to grasp a silver of hope. The doctor arrived just on time.

"This is serious. Let me see!" The doctor said as he dropped his stethoscope and opened his medical bag.

At that particular point in time, Sonia was close to losing consciousness as her breathing had drastically and gotten increasingly labored...

"Ms Queen move away.. the Doctor is here now..." Jason urged Diana. He could only address her with Ms Queen at the moment, definitely to show her she respects her alot and as well make her move away from his dying mum.

Diana could only move aside to let Jason's wish to be done. It's obvious he didn't believed in her or trusted her.

Then Jason held Sonia up. "Dr Steve, her life is in your hands now. Please save her.." he pleaded.

"Don't worry Sir.. I'll try my possible best..." The doctor responded but his tone was not convincing enough, just as he spoke he was taking Sonia's pulse and feeling her heartbeat and it was beyond normal.

The more carefully he did, the more tense his facial expression became. Jason was unsettled like someone sent an unsettlement wave through when he noticed the Doctors grim expression. He knew for himself this was critical, However, he didn't dare make a noise. All he wanted was for the doctor to finish treating her.

"Sir.. Sir.. I'm Afraid sir... Mrs Sonia is in a precarious condition now, we need to get her to the hospital, however, she may not be able to make it to the hospital on time.... Someone had put her resistance system into an overdrive which is not corresponding to her breathing rate as at the moment, but did for a short while......", Dr Steve explained in a grave tone and then turned to look at Diana who was standing side way. She dressed ordinarily and that was clearly because she is probably from a lower class family. However, the doctor didn't dwell on that.

"You clearly don't have any medical skills yet you attempted to treat her? Now you've worsen her condition... I just hope I can rectify your big mistake.." the Doctor shouted at her.

When Jason heard Dr Steve's words he flew into a fit of rage and then looked away. He can't shout at her, he is her executioner but he won't take it lightly if anything happens to his mother because of her.

With a scowl on his face, he wanted to say something but ended up swallowing his words as his mother coughed out again.

Diana only stood and wondered how ridiculous the doctor truly is. If not she had forcefully put Sonia's system into a resistance overdrive, she certainly would be a corpse by now. Anyway, she didn't say anything. She only kept mute while watching.

Despite feeling incensed from the face Diana threw at him, Jason's ultimate priority was saving his mother, and it was not the time....even if, she was the Queen of the Quins royal regiment.

"Dr Steve please... I beg of you.... Think of a way..I can't allow her die..." Jason felt so distraught that his eyes became red that he didn't realize when the words came out.

Opening his medical bag, Dr Steve brought out a small rectangular ice box and then brought out an ice cold from inside and put it into Sonia's mouth. Separating her upper teeth's from her lower teeth. The ice cracked a bit with the force from Sonia's bite on it, it was reflexive as she was dying.

Diana got instinctively indignant. What does the doctor think he is doing?

The next moment, the doctors proceeded and brought out a pack of silver needles from a small box that he brought out from his medical bags. He inserted the silver needles partial-skillfully into Sonia's acupoints.

"That's terrible... You're not even a good acupuncturist....and this would only make her condition worsen..." Diana commented when she saw the Doctors acupuncture technique, making the latter knit his brows.

"What does this young lady know about acupuncture!"

"Shut up!" He yelled.

"I need complete silence to be able to administer this technique successfully..." He added and then he started to insert a third set of needles.

"You're not needed here Ms Queen... Can you please wait for us outside?" Jason added respectfully, gesturing for Diana to get out. He was worried Diana would disrupt the treatment.

Jason had studied a book on acupuncture during his school days and unlike contemporary medicine that one could master within five to six years, It is a native and traditional branch of medicine that one needed at least, Ten to Fifteen years to master. In fact, some might not even be able to master it despite the decades of learning.

Deducing that Diana only looked about twenty Three years old, Jason figured out that there is no way she would be a master at it, even if she is the Queen of the Quins royal regiment.

Ms queen's of the past all had extraordinary skills, medical skills inclusive and given that Diana has just recently found out her new identity. There were no way, she would be an expert already.
