I love you

“Ray?” He tried to touch me, but I slapped his hand off my body.

“Don't ever think of touching me. Do you want me out of here? I'm leaving.” I turned and headed for the closet.

Luckily for me, I had one of the maids hang the clothes I was putting on the night he caught me.

Not the second time, the first one. The one I wore when he caught me when I escaped, was cut that same day.

Tears prickled the side of my eyes, but I sniffed, to keep them at bay.

In no way will I allow him to know how much his words hurt me.

I won't allow him to see that.

He doesn't love me, and never cared about me. Shedding tears in his presence will be more like rubbing things in.

“I thought you will be happy to leave.” He spoke behind me, startling me from my thoughts.

“What do you want?” I asked without turning to face him. “If you are afraid that I will take the clothes that are not mine, then you don't have to bother. I have no desire to take what's not mine.”
