"Tell me where Lotus is! Tell me!" I yelled, my voice dripping with venom.

"By the time you find her, she and that abomination she is carrying would long be dead," Dalia sneered.

Her words pierced through me, igniting a mix of rage and fear. I couldn't let her taunts weaken my resolve. Lotus was in grave danger, and I had to find her before it was too late.

"She cared about you, you know," I said, trying to keep my voice steady.

"She begged me not to harm you, to spare you. And here you are, showing no concern for her well-being. What kind of friend are you?"

Dalia let out a mocking laugh.

"The best in New York, darling. You may think you're smart, vampire sir, but you can't stop what's coming for you."

Her words stung, but I refused to let them deter me. I turned and walked towards a chair close by, my mind racing with a million thoughts. I had to gather my wits and devise a plan to find Lotus and save her from whatever sinister fate awaited her.
