Chapter 22: Shattered Safety

I wake up to footsteps coming down the hallway. Still feeling tired I force myself to sit up rubbing my eyes awake. Is it morning already? Letting out a yawn and rubbing my eyes one last time but stop when complete and utter terror shoots through my body. Opening my eyes I see Zviad on the other side of the cell bars staring me down.
A wolfish grin spreads across his face “Found you.”
Going into a panic I shoot back against the wall slipping on the straw under me. All I can do is grab the blanket clenching it against my chest. Anything to hide myself from this man. His gaze makes me feel naked and his smile makes me fear what he would do to me.
I see him scowl and the barrier before he laughs with a grin. I watch as he pulls out a small disc like object from his pocket.

Rae’s POV I wonder how much time we’re given as I quickly make my way through the thick brush beneath the trees. I end up stepping on a rock wincing in pain as I stop to see the damage. Jeong’s POV Looking down at my wrist I can’t help but feel slightly annoyed at the securely placed tracer. Jeong’s POV I’m not sure if I should be impressed or upset as I continue forward past the barrier. Looking at the distance there is no way she could have jumped between some of these rocks. She must have learned how to use her power, that’s the only logical explanation. No normal person or team of people can get past the amount of beasts that lay in wait from the other side.
