Seeing all the tenderness that was in those green eyes, Gaspard still remembered how to cry.  But the tears did not want to come out, they were just somewhere inside the heart, making him experience severe pain.

"Everything will be fine. Here, you need to gain strength. The doctor will come soon and you will feel better," Adelard said and heard Arthur's clear voice. "I'll leave you. Rest and sleep. Don't be afraid, you are safe here."

Gaspard didn't know what to say.  He didn't know what to think about at all.  After all, he had met such a person for the first time in his short life.

The moment Adelard left the room, Gaspard was able to cry.  But these were just a few drops of tears that left an emptiness in his soul.

"Something happened to Monsieur Adelard?!"

"No. But I think he needs help."

As soon as Adelard went down the stairs, Arthur literally attacked him with surprised eyes.&nbs

The night was quiet, calm, and Adelard's voice was too soft to be true. And Adelard's voice was the only hope for which Gaspard lived all this time."Adelard, I expected that we would spend this evening differently. But you surprised me a lot. You have a good heart. Which means that it will be hard for you," Arthur said, eating the apple.Noticing that Gaspard had already begun to fall asleep, Adelard carefully removed the tray and said, "Stop saying the same words over and over again. Arthur, you better tell me when you leave and why did you burst into my life?"Going to the window, Arthur breathed in the cool air, which already carried the shades of the morning. And Adelard, on the other side of the bed, standing next to the sleeping man, repeated the name to himself. And repeating the name of that girl, he knew it was so hard to be in love. And now, walking on different sides of the room, they were like two ang

Another day was like every other day. The sea waves painted patterns understandable only to water; the sounds of birds flew over people's heads in hats and over the manes of horses that walked forward. With the onset of morning, Adelard quickly left the house without a word. Today, he was unable to speak. And instead of thoughts, words, he was attracted by some other force forward. In a light white sleeveless shirt, white pants and a hat, he rode forward on his old bicycle. Curly hair was swinging right in wind's embrace, while a faint smile on his face met the warm breeze.Passing by shops with flowers and vegetables, he smiled at everyone he saw along the way, and they, too, smiled in return.Long and slender legs moved quickly and erect posture gave his image a kind of swan. And he didn't care that the hat could fly away. He didn't care."Monsieur! How are you doing?!" an elderly man who was sellin

Time was running forward. The wings flew high into the sky, leaving green land, blue and green sea far below, under white shoes that continued to feel the grass on which they stood together.Adelard was in a dream. Her voice was still ringing in his ears, and he could feel her tears on his cheeks. But the fact that he learned to fly was undoubtedly his imagination, and in fact, he was just driving very fast forward. So fast that the whole world became the same color. Passing by the carriages, which were in a hurry along with the people who nervously sat and looked out the window, Adelard managed to scare the horses several times and create noise throughout the small town. Two wheels, like two wings, flew forward, quickly, along with the rhythm of his heart. But when he did not notice the young man in the black cloak and bumped into him and almost fell, he came to his senses and said awkwardly, "Forgive me."But the you

Among abandoned houses that have already turned into a real labyrinth, stopping in front of a broken wall, Adelard wiped the sweat from his forehead and took a small notebook from his bag. On the first page was the address written in capital letters: GREEN LIGHT FARM. And next to these words was written finely and neatly: Madame Lucy.Putting the notebook back in his bag, Adelard relaxed his shoulders and fixed his anxious gaze into the distance, where sea and sky became one.And this landscape was visible through the broken wall, the bricks of which were scattered everywhere.Hearing the disturbing sounds of the sea, Adelard lifted his head up. The hot sun rays were ready to reach his very soul. There was no one around. Even birds, even insects. He was completely alone. On an empty part of the town, where the echoes of the past dwelt. When the sun became too unbearable, Adelard threw another glance

Sebastian, a boy of fifteen, was old enough to distinguish simple silence from gloomy silence. Tired, understanding life and people, this boy has already managed to earn dark circles under his eyes. His almost blonde hair was soaked in the scent of a farmhouse, and tanned skin accentuated his thin face.Perhaps he heard their conversation, perhaps he guessed everything, but nevertheless, he did not say anything. They were separated only by a leather sofa, which stood right in the middle of the corridor."Your mom needs to think. Shall we take a walk?" Adelard asked, pointing to the beautiful landscape that was open before their eyes.Sebastian said nothing, he just followed the tall figure, which quickly found himself outside the house. It was quiet around. Even the wind did not rustle the foliage of the trees. The air was filled with the scent of fruits and flowers. Green hills, with bright green grass, smoothly des

At home, the conversation about him stopped, but on the main street of the small town, everyone was talking about him. At first, the words were unintelligible, but the closer Adelard approached the crowd, the more clearly he heard their words. And at the head of them was Madame Lucy. Her yellow dress was like the sun and Adelard could easily see her through the crowd that was desperately trying to look alike. Surrounded by small houses of orange and brown, the people of almost the whole town stood and listened to the words about Adelard with admiration and rapture. They spoke of just Adelard, the man, and it was their truth, hope, and meaning. When Madame Lucy saw him among the crowd, standing modestly beside an older man, she shouted, "Adelard, dear!"The applause was louder than Adelard expected. He didn't even notice how he ended up next to Madame Lucy."What's going on here?" he managed to ask before the crowd of reporters started asking hi

She opened her eyes and just stared at him for a while. There was something strange in her gaze, something unlike the other girls. After all, every time girls looked at him, they didn't hide their weaknesses. They wanted to be weak, defenseless. But not Celeste. Frowning her thin eyebrows, she was able to put on the mask of a brave warrior and say, "It takes a lot for a human to stop getting tired."Adelard could not breathe, think, be himself. It was all left behind. Love left him no choice."I felt sorry for you today. You stood there looking like you were being tortured. I felt sorry for you. But don't think that I will always let you into my home. This is the first and last time," she said."You left me no choice. Celeste, you know I love you, don't you? Does my love not stand a chance?" Adelard managed to ask. He stood up and stepped closer to her.Slightly changing her expression to a more wary one, she said, "I have heard ma

"His condition is getting worse and we can't do anything to help him. Last night, he wouldn't stop coughing. Yes, we called a doctor. But alas, the medicine didn't help him." Standing opposite the door to the room that had already become a refuge for the boy named Gaspard, Adelard and Nicholas could hear his heavy breathing. And with each passing second, Gaspard was closer to death."Do you think he's dying?" Adelard asked. And then Mathilde came out of the room and they both took a step forward to look in and see the sick man. But Mathilde closed the room too quickly and stared fearfully at the floor. As if she had seen death itself, she could not raise her eyes for fear of seeing something dreadful. But Adelard's question made her speak."What is it?""Monsieur, look," she whispered, trying to hold back her tears. Holding the basin with the towel, which had drops of blood on it, she let out a few drops of tears. "He's coughing up blood. Monsi

The gratitude for everyone who contributed to his life was too strong for Adelard to ever say, "I'll never trust people again." No, he remained the same. And even then, when a new life met him and even when he opened the book about his life.It was a heavy book, like his life, with his face on the cover. It was a book that kept everything about his family and about him. It was also a history of humanity. More precisely, human nature. Namely, the nature of person, who always wants to destroy the kindness, to insult and make suffer the one who is willing to do anything for the good of others. This book is not only about a person who was able to remain human after all that people have done, but it is about the fact that people are still not ready for kindness. They are not ready for generosity, because once you give something to them, they immediately become greedy and don't appreciate it at all, until they lose it all. They are not ready for understanding. Af

  • The Unveiled Soul   Happy news, happy life

Time passed quickly as Adelard watched his son run through the places where he himself had once run and played as well. He saw himself in him and the happiness was too strong to remember all the pain and anger. No, his heart had always remained pure, without resentment or hatred. And it was his strength that created wings on his back that could never break. A heart without resentment is wings. When evening finally came, Adelard entered the house and stopped in front of a picture of his parents. "Mom, Dad, thank you," he whispered and heard Percival's voice, "How do I look?" He was wearing a new white suit that perfectly described his new start in life. It was perfect to be true. But people brought the truth with them and when everyone he knew was gathered in the house, Adelard walked up to Percival and said to him alone, "White suits you very well."Then, returning his gaze and attention to his guests, who stood with sad faces, Adelard said lou

After suffering, one ceases to feel guilty about what happened and is happening. After tears, scars remain on the face that no longer want to hurt. Sometimes it seems that a person has to go through everything and experience everything in order to eventually understand their own truth. It is only when a person has experienced everything that life begins. But sometimes, there are those in life who choose the path of the beholder. And often, trials and sufferings fall on the shoulders of the most sincere and kind people. While the audience continues to watch and applaud when they deem it right. This time, the audience, that is, the society decided that Adelard deserved respect and everyone, putting on their masks again, began to smile at him. Everything was back to normal. The same streets with flowers, the same faces and smiles. And the words, "Monsieur Adelard, how are you? • The Unveiled Soul   Armand. Part three.

As he finished the book that had been the longest in his life, Percival wrote the last sentence and with his hand up, he closed his eyes and felt the moment as great as victory itself. He felt victorious. His heart was beating too fast. Because this feeling was stronger than falling in love. This feeling was stronger and more important than love. When he opened his eyes, he looked out the window, at the people passing by and at the sea that glistened far away and then, he looked at his papers. He had finished another of his books. But this book was different from the others. For each page held only one name - Adelard. Yes, he did write a book about him. It was his biography. From his childhood to his betrayal. All these three years he had worked on only one book. Every day of those three years he studied the town, the people and the history. He listened to people talk, he asked them about Adelard. He went to the library and read a lot. But he only had time at night. And so, for all

When Armand was already far into the woods, Adelard continued to stare in his wake until he sensed the passage of time. And yet in those three years, Adelard had changed too. He was already thirty-four and soon to be thirty-five. But his appearance hadn't changed in any way. What had changed was himself. Finally, he became a little more attentive to people. He understood the world and saw too many dangers. And all for the sake of keeping Armand safe. And every time the child left him alone, he felt weak from anxiety. He was afraid that Armand would let people hurt his heart too soon. That fear was the only feeling while Percival was not around. But with him, Adelard forgot everything. After all, the key to his world had long been in Percival's hands. While the key to Armand's world was in his hands. The thought of Armand growing up and beginning to understand everything frightened Adelard. But what could he do? • The Unveiled Soul   Armand. Part one.

Looking out the window, Adelard remembered Nicholas. Perhaps by chance, not so far away, somewhere on the steppe, Nicholas looked out the window and smiled. And so, the night with all the stars and the moon came to tell tales and remind everyone of dreams. Only now immersed in memories did Adelard remember everything. And again pain and sadness took their place in a heart that was just healing. But how quickly the heart can remember pain and break again. At times it seems that the heart only lives by pain and sadness, because how quickly it can forget the good things and absorb all the unpleasant feelings. After all, even love, also a kind of pain. And why does a person even remember everything? Isn't it always to feel pain? But what would be if a person remembered nothing and started each day anew? What would the heart do then? But the strangest thing in this world is that when the heart is sad, nature responds with sadness too. The sun turns to rain and it gets dark around you. Th

Adelard spent the next few hours by just contemplating the nature. He liked to look out the window of the train, just like when he was a child. He was flying through empty steppes, through forest, tunnel, and past mountainous terrain. His gaze clung to the Sun, which slowly let the Moon take its place. His attempts to stop time were naive, but still he continued to stare at the sun until the train finally stopped. Night had not yet fallen. There was a pleasant sunset all around and so, Adelard was happy. For he could clearly see Percival's face. Quickly leaving the train, he ran towards the town. He didn't even pay attention to the fact that the memories, like little birds, were trying to draw his attention to themselves. He didn't care that this was where he was born. He didn't care that every corner reminded him of something. After all, he had long since noticed a tall figure near the tree."Percival!""Adelard come. Hurry!""Where are
