One Hundred and Ten

Asher’s POV

I was settled into the high-backed leather chair in my office, the cityscape sprawling beyond the panoramic window behind me. Normally, I would be up and in front of the window, looking down at the city before me and probably thinking about things, but I had a meeting, so here I was.

I glanced at the array of screens on my desk, the largest of which displayed the faces of my clients. I leaned into the microphone, trying to sound focused and present despite the array of distractions that come with running a company.

I would rather be someplace else though, or even be working on the files I had my secretary bring to me.

"So, as I was saying," I began, directing my attention to the screen, "the projections for next quarter are looking strong, and we're on track to exceed the targets we set last month. I'm confident that with the new marketing strategy in place, we'll see a significant return on investment." I said, looking over at my door before concentrating back on the scre
