Isabelle was still frozen in Carlos' study, her heart racing as her eyes locked with his burning ones. The air was charged with tension, anger, and betrayal on his part, and something else — electrifying and undeniable.

After the incidence at the park, Carlos had given it a deep thought and released Allison to go, warning her not to come any close to his wife again if she really valued her life.
