Before either of them knew what was happening, a huge gust of wind threw her to the side while Dominic was suspended in the air as he felt something brush his fur.
He looked up to see skylark flapping his large wings and holding him by his claws but ensuring that they didn't hurt him.
Relief broke out on the she-wolf’s face to see that the alpha was safe and that the mage’s bird had arrived.
That meant the mage was nearby too. She looked around in confusion and sure enough, she saw a man rush towards them wearing a blue shirt and black pants, the same dress she had seen him in some time ago.
He looked at the she wolf and then immediately moved his hands like a ball of light shot out of it, hitting the hycwen who had dropped Dominic straight in the chest.
Seeing the ball come out of nowhere scared the hycwen as it tumbled down, taking the next one with him.
Gritting his teeth, Calhoun marched forward as he sent bursts of balls towards e
The thought was absurd but as it was almost a direct command of their alpha, they couldn't openly deny her. As such they only looked at her silently and Dominic came to her rescue. He clapped his hands and spoke, “We are also proud of you all for your support and teamwork in today’s battle. Now, please excuse us as we work on finding why the hcywens suddenly attacked us. Those who are okay please tend to the ones who are injured. Dismiss.” He said and the crowd thinned but everybody kept glancing at the mage who had reverted his attention back to his pet bird who was perched on his shoulder. In the sunlight, he looked even better as the blue shirt complimented the grey of his eyes The bodies of the hycwens lay on the ground, half mutilated with some having their organs scattered all over the border. When all the others left, Valencia stifled a scream as pain shot up her leg. For a second, she thought the pain of the wound had returned but when
For a long time, he kept watching at their retreating figures as even when they were considerably away from him, he could hear their voices perfectly well owing to his magic. “Why is Calhoun such a snub?” Dominic answered, “He saved my neck today so I won't call him that.” She laughed at that, “Yeah, if he hadn’t then?” Dominic seemed to think about it for a moment and replied, “Not even then” She giggled and the sound of her laughter rang in his ears and it went straight to his heart. It made him feel warm and soft inside. It was music to his ears and he wasn’t sure if he had heard such a melody before. What was going on with him? Since when was her laughter music to his ears? He shook his head as he began walking towards the round hall. He had seen something flicker in the hycwen’s eyes and he wasn’t sure if it was an illusion or if it was real. If it was real, there was more danger to the werewolves tha
Patrick, Dominic's beta, had taken his leave and quickly exited the place before Dominic could call him out for his mistake. Now, fryege carefully pulled out the book from his bag as if it was made of porcelain and held it in his hands. It was an ancient book with a large hardcover and its pages yellowed and delicate. Freyge showed his asset proudly to the mage who could only stare at the book in shock. “Where did you get that?” Looking at the book, he walked near and flipped a few pages carefully, not quite believing his eyes. It held information on curses, potions, and hexes along with ingredients, where to find them, the brewing process, and a lot more. It looked like an encyclopedia and a guide to being a mage.
The omega got a call on his phone and he immediately received it.Clearly, it was Valencia.“Yes, archon?”She said something and the omega responded to her in a low voice, “Yes, I am with Calhoun…no…I will be there in fifteen minutes.”Saying that he disconnected the call as Calhoun had strained his ears to hear her voice. He could have very well shut his perception but after seeing the memory of young Valencia crying in the same hall while every other person laughed at her, he couldn't help but feel the urge to know what must have happened in her past life.Calhoun wanted to know the reason why the tough and cold archon was like this. Was it because she was treated like this in the past? He needed answers and he was actually glad that she had asked him to stay in the round hall. Now that he had the book, he could use it to do what he wanted with it. Extract information and maybe find clues as to
The werewolves were all present in the hall and Valencia was sitting right on the chair he was. He somehow felt her body brush his and it sent a shiver down his spine. He hadn’t really touched her yet and he knew that she wasn’t practically sitting on his lap either but somehow it made him feel as if she was really there. Then as if somebody had pulled him away, he was thrown to the side as she got up from the chair, her eyes flared with anger and her face full of annoyance.Calhoun opened his eyes but the memory was still playing out in front of him. It looked like everybody was standing in a cloud of blue smoke. He tried touching it but his hand went right through it. He knew that he couldn't touch it but somehow his eyes were in a daze. Valencia had just gotten up from her chair angrily and the dress she was wearing made her look gorgeous, sexy even.Valencia? Sexy? What was he even thinking? There was a jacket that hung loose
Even he didn't bother and they went their separate ways while he continued to walk towards Dominic’s home. After around fifteen minutes, he reached outside his home and kept looking at the entrance, unsure of what to do.Then he heard the voices of people arguing and immediately hid behind a tree. After a minute, he saw Valencia walk out of the entrance with Dominic close on her heels.“Wait, archon…please listen to me.”She was angry and looked annoyed and stomped out of the large living room, out on the porch folding her hands across her chest. The sprain in her ankle appeared to have gone, the one she had received in the morning. But then he recalled that werewolves were fast healers and that they might have healed even before they had reached Dominic’s home. Had they been together all this time?A hot wave of jealousy coursed through him at the thought of that. But, then he quickly discarded th

Valencia let out a growl on hearing that. “How could you, Trecdor? She is a little girl…all these days…I have been living with the guilt of scaring her and it was you all along?” Trecdor spat at her words in disgust, “Trecdor? Do you dare call me by my name? Where is your respect for the Coven's head?” Valencia meanwhile kept glaring at him, “You lost it when you sent an untrained, tainted werewolf after my niece, you don’t have the right to that seat after what you have been doing to the humans…” Dominic tried to mind link her, “Keep him busy talking, I’ll try to untie the knots holding me to this filthy pillar.” She was startled to hear his voice in her head all of a sudden but Trecdor only took it as the reaction to his betrayal. To goad her further, he added, What use is she to me? Well, if she grows up and is capable of birthing a wolf then she may be of some use…if not, she is a burden on our community…like yo
After ensuring that the car was safely hidden out of view, both of them stepped out of it and peered through the gate.Luckily nobody had come running towards the gate when it had creaked loudly. So they believed that it could either mean that whoever was in charge didn’t think that anybody would show up or if they did then they wouldn’t walk out alive. After ensuring that nobody was around using their acute sense of hearing and smell, the two slowly edged inside. There was a lot of abandoned stuff littering around the open space so it proved to be effective in hiding. Thus, they used the empty drums and stuff lying around to hide them while carefully walking inside. The two werewolves kept inching towards the entrance that they hoped would be heavily guarded or at least tripped with wires. But to their surprise, again nothing obstructed their way. It was strange and both of them merely glanced at each other before walking
Running towards him, she turned him around and before he could react, she pulled him by the collar and placed her lips on his. Daniel had not expected her to have such a reaction and he was startled for a moment but soon he gave in to the feeling. He was afraid that she would shun him and was only around him for old time’s sake. The fact that she took the initiative to kiss him dispensed all the worries from his head. His arms went around her and he lifted him from the ground while kissing her back. Jenny smiled and a chuckle escaped her lips to feel him be so elated. His eyes were shining with joy and she could also see a tear or two though he was trying hard to not show it. “I love you” The words escaped his lips automatically and Jenny’s eyes mirrored his emotions. “I have always loved you, Danny,” Jenny replied and the two smiled again. “Now, put me down…” Daniel who was lost in the sensation of
As she kept thinking about this stuff, her feet automatically carried her to the headquarters. She walked inside the headquarters, climbed the stairs, and got to the upper floor where Daniel was sitting on the chair. He looked weak but not as exhausted as before. The guards stationed outside the room bowed their heads at her. “Has he eaten something?” One of the werewolves who were standing away from her bowed his head and answered, “Yes archon, we gave him food and he finished that reluctantly. In fact, he has been asking to meet you. But, we didn’t inform you because we thought it was too early.” She nodded her head in acknowledgment and went inside. Daniel was in a fresh set of clothes, probably Gerald had given her a new set. He even looked to have bathed and not as harrowed as the night before. Daniel had a notebook and a pen in front of him and appeared to be scribbling something. Seeing her enter the room, he got up from his seat and bo
The voice pained him and the icy tone with which she said that to him made him feel like he was punched in the gut. “Why are you doing this?” He asked in an anguished voice. She was still pinned to the bed and his hands were still holding hers. He tightened his hold on her and bent down again to say, “You don’t really mean that, you are saying that to get back at me.” Valencia kept looking at him with the same steady gaze, her eyes didn’t even falter for a second. She was proud of not giving away the roller coaster of emotions coursing through her. “If you think so…” Calhoun’s eyes grew darker and she hoped that he would get away from her the minute he realized that she wasn’t joking. However, he did just the opposite. Instead of getting away from her, he bent down and gave her the steamiest kiss ever. In one swift motion, he put his hands around her, pulled her in a tight embrace, and began eating her lips, devouring her
“Well let’s say fate decided to meddle with her life. She got separated from her parents and had to live on her own….but….she was a strong girl. As such, she decided to not let destiny decide the course of her life, thus she fought against all odds and became a queen from an orphan.” She gave a dry chuckle at that, “you make it look so effortless...” He responded, “I know it isn’t, but I didn’t want to go into the details of the pain and suffering of the girl, she has had her fill.” Valencia closed her eyes and replied, “Hmm…so, where is she now?” Calhoun looked at her face that was shining with innocence and pain. He wanted to kiss her so bad but didn’t want to take advantage of the situation. Thus, he answered, “She is ruling her kingdom all by herself.” “Oh, she doesn’t have a king?” “She could but she doesn’t need anyone I think.” “Well, everybody needs someone at one point or the other…” The words had tumbl
The word made her momentarily forget what she had been about to say. Nobody had called her queen before. Blinking her eyes she said while fumbling, “Yes…I am..” Though her heart had skipped a beat at that, she continued to look at him with defiance. Calhoun closed the distance between them and stood extremely close to her, their faces inches away from each other. “What wouldn’t have happened if I had stayed away?” He asked her again, slowly and steadily and she realized that he had understood that she had not implied the incident with the blue werewolf. A small part of her heart was amazed to see how he had clearly understood her but the other was still fluttering at the way he had called her queen. It felt oddly nice to hear him call her a queen. Scolding herself, she tried to get a grip on herself as even her wolf seemed to be confused now. Earlier, she had loved Dominic but now feeling what Valencia was feeling made her unsu
Dominic muttered and turned into his wolf. Valencia got up from the ground as the rogue motioned ahead and raised his hand to smack her again. But before he could do this, Dominic jumped on him, sinking his teeth into the werewolf’s arm. In normal circumstances, it would have sliced off the hand as an alpha’s bite was extremely powerful but no such thing happened now. The blue werewolf was more powerful than the alpha but it seemed to lose its mind from time to time. It was as if periodically it was being remote controlled by someone else and just moments of self control were granted to it before it was taken over by that other mysterious controller again. Dominic looked at his beta who got the message and quickly as his pack members to ensure that a stampede doesn’t occur and that everybody is taken to a safe place while they dealt with this rogue. Gerald and Patrick began guiding the frightened crowd, taking them away from the battle
“I kept telling myself that it will be okay, that I could always walk away and return the money if I didn’t like what was going on…” Daniel trailed off and his eyes automatically went to Jenny whose face was almost on the verge of crying. She couldn’t keep it together anymore. His face crumpled to see her like that and Dominic patted her head and pulled her in a hug to calm her down. Daniel felt relieved to see that neither of the alphas was hurting her even when they knew that she was their leverage against them. Gerald walked up to him and offered him a glass of water when the rogue moved his hands to his throat and touched the Adam’s apple. After emptying the water glass, he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and continued, “I was taken in and asked to do some mandatory health check-ups that they assured me and the batch of people who had signed up with them…we were taken in a lab of sorts and asked to sleep on a table to take some scan…I do
