Chapter Seventy-Seven

The days blurred into one miserable, suffocating haze and dragged me deeper into the pit of despair.

Every morning felt darker and heavier than the last, as if the sun had lost interest in shining on me altogether.

Most of the time, I just curled up under my sheets, the curtains pulled tight as though I could block out the world and all the reminders of what I’d lost.

Talking to anyone? Forget it. Unless they had a direct hotline to the Goddess herself, they could all stay the hell away from me.

I had one focus—finding a way out of this mess, a way to get some divine intervention that might save both Cameron and me.
