Noticing Isabel's unease, Jeremy continued their conversation, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. "Are you related to Mason's family? I'm actually quite close with Mason. Even he's one of my friends. But I've never heard of you before", he remarked, observing Isabel with curiosity.

Isabel was caught off guard by his sudden inquiry. Moreover, she feared revealing her true identity as Mason's wife, concerned that it might provoke a negative reaction from Mason later.

"I'm not related to his family, but they graciously allowed me to stay in their house for a while, for which I'm extremely grateful. That's why I want to assist them in their time of need", Isabel replied, resorting to a lie as she saw no other option.
