Alexis couldn't sleep.
It was like university all over again, except if she actually studied and didn't waste her time away attending frat parties she didn't even partake in much. But, somehow, she became a centre personality for the parties and everyone went to her when they wanted to attend. She scoffed amidst her thoughts, cutting the train of thoughts.
And where did that leave me...'
She held her temples, "Agathus you worked through this in half an hour?, was it easy?" She didn't want to know, but the checklist she made to check these things bothered her.
"I've been given high level’s of education by his highness, so I'm quite fluent in all these. But the only one I'd call easy would be the language exam." He placed a quill in an ink bottle, raising it only to write on the important documents in front of him.
'Scumbag? I haven't seen him ages.' Two days to be specific.
"Fine give Mister Wallace Silver a call, email, let
Alexis had finally gotten through the third book when Angela quickly rushed into her room."Miss! Someone from the Silver family is here to see you!" She panicked, Alexis not at all perturbed just smiled in return."It's Wallace. Don't freak out Angela, I only need to speak to him for a minute or two." Alexis dusted the dress she wore. It was a deep green dress, with buttons decorating the blouse. It was the most modern thing she saw and readily put it on, but it wasn't modern enough to be put on without a corset. Ugh..."But he's from the Silver Dukedom! We must make you presentable and someone from the Enflada Family came as well!" Angela scurried over to Alexis, combing through her hair like the rats nest it was.'Joshua? No, it might be someone else.'"Who are the Enflada's just to ask" she questioned, just as Rosy entered with some lotions bundled in her arms."They are one of the most influential families in the country, despite not be
"Why is my Mage crying?" Alexis through her tears, heard that familiar deep voice and quickly wiped them away."Your majesty!" Joshua and Wallace jumped to their feet at his appearance. He held a hand to them, gesturing for them to stay seated and silent.
"I-Er-" Alexis looked at the expectant stare on Joshuas face and then the smirk on the scumbags face.'He is totally attractive... the hottest guy I've ever seen. I mean that face... and then that bod.' She couldn't compare him to any actor or a man she's actually seen because it wouldn't do him any justice.Saying Alastair wasn't attractive to straight women would be like saying the sky is bright pink. His red eyes that glowed and the beautiful hair that reflected light in such perfect balance. His jawline and nose were to swoon for. Alastair was not a perfect being, he was beyond perfect.
Angela and Rosy stood up, grabbing a coat, scarf and hat. Andrea, on the other hand, grabbed a pair of shoes."I'm only going to the garden..." Alexis who looked at all the trouble the dwarfs seemed to go through with guilt."Humans get sick easily and Master Agathus said they need to dress warmly at night, even in the summer." Andrea said, her platinum hair in a plated bun.
"And what if I spoke the truth", Prince Dwayne, finally recovering from his shock, snapped. His glare swivelled from Alexis and Alastair, that prank Alexis pulled already frustrated him, but then the Emperor actually appeared.'Was it even a prank?' He thought, clenching his teeth. He had always felt inferior at his lack of ability to perform that inherited technique and now it felt as though Alastair was laughing at him. His inferiority complex at full throttle."Trying to undermine
"Agathus, I've gone through it a lot of times and I don't think there's anything to fix". Alexis spoke to the hybrid man with bags under her eyes, he didn't glance away from his own pile of documents, "Please. I can't go through it another time!"At the desperate cry he finally looked at the sleep deprived girl."Fine. Place it over there and get some sleep." He pointed at his desk, adding it to his mental list of tasks to be done. She threw the finished exam down where he pointed, i
The exam had finally been sent off to the Capital orphanage and questions of who could supervise the exam raised. All the while, two weeks had passed and through sleepless nights and sheer determination, Alexis had finally read through all the books.Whether she actually took in any of it was a question only she could answer. During these weeks, she had a surprising amount of visits from Joshua who interrupted her intense reading with strange demands, once he asked for a hair, another time for a drop of blood and another time to ask if she felt upset when people called her by her name.
Alexis soon found herself in a carriage, a sense of excitement and adventurous romances taking her logical thinking away as she had her head outside the window.'Like a child', That's what Alastair thought as he stared at her.Whether it were the purple hills filled with colourful flowers, or the white lakes with large salt rocks at it shore.
“Are you sure about this?” Emilia asked one final time. She held a book, large and heavy, full of flying specks of dust that would’ve had a human coughing fits. It was a spell book. Full of ancient spells that were pretty forbidden… and also illegal. But what greater hypocrites are there than the ones wh
The bill passed sooner than most would have thought. The aristocratic’s did ask for a few other conditions which were thoroughly reviewed, but other than that things sailed smoothly. All there was left was for Alastair to finalise a contract with a recovering Shane. And so he was invited to the palace. Something no vampire had ever had the displeasure of. He looked to every corner of the palace in caution, expecting an assassination any moment. Of course, nothing happened.
“So, I take I he wasn’t too pleased with our proceedings?” Hector was perched up on the chrysanthemum tree, idly reading a book when Alexis had sat down to pour her troubles to him. His reading would have to wait.Alexis gave a dry laugh, “I’m not entirely sure. Why do you t
The secret garden was the same as ever. In all honesty, Alexis hadn’t visited it after Alastair had showed it to her. She was always busy. Busy and scared. She wasn’t sure why. But, the place seemed sacred. It was almost as if she didn’t belong there. In its majestic beauty she felt like dirt. Ironically…
The appearance of vampires dates back to as far as 1700, a far cry from the current 3562 century, back then they had a population of a billion and come the current years have dwindled down to only a handful. Their existence is currently on the brink of extinction. This was because of the stigma they carried. Shadow magic was already an isolated form of magic, and with vampires being natural users they were also isolated.
“Oh my head. Oh god my head is splitting” groaned Alexis.“It doesn’t get easier” Alastair agreed through pained groans.“This is a familiar situation, isn’t it?” The gender less voice made Alexis perk up.
It was almost comical when the three sat on Alexis’ dinner table. Glaring at each other. The aroma of fresh bread and pepperoni taunted the serious expressions on their faces. They deeply inhaled it, unable to stop their hands from inching towards the box.It was only a matter of seconds before Ale
It was only minutes after when Alastair’s stomach rumbled. It was the first time Alexis had seen him so embarrassed.“Haha, let’s get you something to eat” she helped him up, not noticing the looks of interest he threw the bathroom. He touched the shower head, flinching when a droplet of water fell on his hand.&l
“-Lexis. Alexis!”The said girl jumped in alarm, barely knocking over her soda as she turned to her friend Blair.“What?” She asked, after forcefully swallowing the chunk of bread she hadn’t chewed for the past five minutes.
