As the sun vanished from sight and sank below the horizon line, the spacious luxurious living room in Sabrina’s mansion was drenched in darkness with long shades. I was seated in a leather armchair while drinking whiskey.

I had negative thoughts. I could hear the soft whisper of a news anchor in the next room but not on the TV. The rumor that had filtered through my ears on the previous day came back at me, blackening memory for it related to the untimely demise of Sabrina’s dad, many years before.
