Chapter 78

Third Person's POV

Joey lies in his bed facing the window, his back toward the door. He's as awkward as it comes. Not only is his tongue cut out, and he walks with a limp, he's left-handed. It was just another thing for kids to tease him about.

It seemed the world always had something to tease him about. Everything he did was wrong. He could look at someone, and they would claim he looked at them the wrong way.

The Omega lay in bed, his right hand propped his head up as his left hand moved vigorously across the thick sheet of paper, sketching, thumb caressing the charcoal color and shading needed areas.

As more time passed, the image became clearer. Long dreads past the shoulders, pulled up around the face, and clamped just behind his head. His sharp eyebrows became a mirror image, and he moved on to his thin and beautiful nose.

His beautiful face came to life. His gorgeous dreadlocks, facial hair, and eyes that held so much emotion came to life on paper.

What others perceive as imperfections are what has created the Joey we know. I’m not sure if Reid could heal his tongue, but possibly his limp.
