Chapter 50

Third Person's POV

Nadja's eyes shot open as he sucked a breath in. His heart raced as he looked around. White hair on his chest caused the Elder to freeze. He's quickly reminded that he's no longer in that dark cell and they weren't beating him. His left leg ached. They broke it in his dream, and it felt so real. Maybe that's because they did break it, more than once.

He looked down at Evelyn, and an overwhelming feeling of happiness washed over him. He couldn't believe he was waking up with his angel in his arms. He had dreamed about this moment a million times. Her body was so warm against him, and those little tingles dancing along his skin where their bodies touched were more magical than he ever remembered them to be. Her beautiful scent of honeysuckle surrounded him. All he could smell was her, and all he could feel was her.

Nadja silently prayed to the Moon Goddess, thanking her for giving him one of her most precious children. He made a promise to the Goddess that he would
