Third Person's POV
Ezra can feel Silas's eyes burning a hole in the side of his head as he walks from the buffet to his table.
He knows his guardian's words without hearing them. “You promised you wouldn't do that while I was away with my mate. You knew Ian and I were looking forward to this. Why would you go against your word? I trusted you!…”
Ezra drops down into his seat next to his brother. Grayson turns his head and looks at the young man sitting next to him, who has short dark hair that probably took way too long to style.
“Are you okay?” Grayson asked through the link.
Ezra took a deep breath and then slowly let it out before turning to look at his brother.
“I let him down,” Ezra replied through the link.
Grayson frowns and looks down momentarily before looking at Silas.
“I don't think it's as bad as you think. It's not like we went off and did stupid stuff like humans do. We were looking for Nadja. He's only worried about you. He's your guardian, that's his job.” Grayson said through the link, and Ezra slowly turned his head, looked at his brother, and stared at him for a moment.
“When did you get so serious on me?” Ezra asked out loud, and Grayson rolled his eyes before taking a bite of hash browns.
Both boys look up when Coal drops heavily into the seat beside Grayson. The anger rolling off of him was palpable. The Alpha raised an eyebrow as he tilted his head, trying to get a good look at his future Beta's face.
“Something wrong?” Grayson asked, his curiosity piqued.
The tri-brid with Alpha blood let out an exaggerated breath before his eyes moved to Grayson.
“Oh, nothing, just my father's cocky ass always trying to prove a point on the training field. Which, of course, ends with me looking like an idiot and scraping my ass off the fucking ground after he's done!” Coal complained before shoveling a spoonful of eggs into his mouth.
Lydia snorted as she sat beside her brother, lightly shoving him with her elbow.
“You need to throw our father on his ass next time! Now that would be funny!”
“Oh, would it?” Xavier's deep and loud voice startled the Beta female, and she jumped before slumping down into her seat, trying to hide from her father, who was sitting two tables away.
“I can still see you, Lydia!” Xavier smirked, and Theo giggled.
“Where's Tate?” Grayson asked before shoving a piece of bacon in his mouth.
“Sucking face with Chloe behind the pack house the last time I saw him,” Vivian said and then made a gagging gesture before bringing the bag of blood to her mouth.
“You might think it's gross now, but wait until you're 18. You'll be dreaming about sucking face with your mate.” Lydia smirked.
Vivian looked at Lydia and then opened her mouth, placed her finger inside, and made a gagging motion, letting her sister know just how gross she thought that idea was.
“Have you heard from Evelyn since she went home?” Ezra asked, and Grayson sighed.
“No. I was thinking we should go over there after we're done training. I can talk to Evelyn, and you can go feed off that cute little Omega you like. What's his name?” Grayson teased.
“Dylan. And I don't necessarily like him. But his blood is sweet, and he's fun to play with.” Ezra said, his eyes flashing red when he briefly thought of that fun.
Ezra rapidly blinks his eyes after receiving an elbow to the ribs. The soon-to-be vampire King glares at his brother as he holds his side.
“Stop thinking dirty thoughts while sitting next to me! I don't want to smell your arousal!”
Ezra growled as he shoved Grayson, and the young Alpha laughed.
“I'm pretty sure a human growls better than that!” Grayson said, and Ezra hissed at his brother before throwing a croissant at his head.
Grayson quickly caught it after it bounced off his head. Grayson leaned towards Ezra, playfully growling as he took a bite of the croissant. Ezra groaned as he shoved his brother's head away.
“You're an idiot!”
“You need to work on your growl!” Grayson flashed a smile at the glare he was receiving from Ezra.

Her lips were soft, her skin was warm, and she smelled like roses. Tate swallowed the soft moan that escaped Chloe. His hands wandered under her shirt as their tongues slowly danced. He felt Goosebumps rising on her skin as his fingers glided against her silky, smooth body.
He hears her heart racing and feels her chest rapidly rising and falling against his chest. Her round, firm breast presses against his chest, and he groans, wishing they were someplace private so he can strip her of the annoying fabric that's shielding his eyes from her body.
Tate has known Chloe since kindergarten. They were best friends as children.
Those platonic feelings of friendship began to evolve as they grew older. They kept those feelings to each other as long as they could until one day they were wrestling in the woods…
Chloe's laughter rang out as Tate tackled her, and then she shrieked as they tumbled down the hill together. The dizzying tumble ended at the bottom of the hill with Chloe on top of Tate.
Tate's chest shook as he laughed, his arms wrapped around Chloe. Her breath fanned his neck as she laughed. The warm breath against his neck caused Tate to freeze and he closed his eyes. His heart raced with each warm breath fanning his neck. Her breath smelt like cinnamon, and he wondered if her kiss would taste like it, too.
Chloe pulled her head back as she continued to laugh. Her eyes twinkled as she looked down at Tate, causing his heart to skip a beat. Chloe's laughter ceased, and her breath caught in her throat when she saw the way Tate looked at her.
His eyes moved across her face, taking in her beauty. Her breath hitched when his hand lifted towards her face and tucked the hair behind her ear before trailing his fingers along her face.
At 16, he wished he knew what the Moon Goddess had planned for him. The feelings he felt for Chloe were undeniable. She had to be the one! Everything in his heart told him she was.
Chloe's eyes go to Tate's lips when his tongue darts out and licks them.
Her breath stutters when his thumb glides across her bottom lip and gently pulls down.
“Tate,” She whispered so quietly, so breathlessly.
The Alpha bear responded with his head lifting off the ground. Chloe's heart felt like it would beat out of her chest as his lips came closer.
Lips she had so many times dreamed of tasting lightly brushed against hers, and her eyes closed. Chloe's hand goes to the back of Tate's head, gripping it as she closes the distance and presses their lips together.
Tate moaned when his tongue slid into her mouth and finally tasted her kiss. It was even better than he dreamed it would be. The Alpha bear rolled them, pressing her against the ground as he deepened the kiss.
The submissive Delta 1 was left breathless and dazed. After she snapped out of it, she shoved Tate off of her and stood up, brushing herself off.
“We can't do this! I'm saving myself for my mate! I can't do this with you!” Chloe said, bringing her hands to her lips with mixed feelings. She loved everything about that kiss and wanted more. But she hated herself for giving her first kiss away to someone who might not even be her mate.
“I think you are my mate. You have to be! I know you feel it, too!” Tate said, reaching for Chloe's arm, but she pulled back. Chloe exhaled as she turned for a moment and then turned back to face him.
“We're only 16! How would we ever know who our mate is?”
“What else would this be? Don't you feel it?” Tate sighs as he grabs her hand and places it against his chest, over his heart.
Chloe's eyes closed. She felt his heart beating against her hand, and her eyes filled with tears.
“There's something there between us. I feel a pull to you. It has to be the bond. I think about you all the time! I've dreamed of kissing you for so long!” he said, and Chloe struggled harder not to cry. She failed, and tears fell when she opened her eyes.
“I love you, Chloe! I have for so long now. We have to be mates! You consume my every thought!
I look forward to seeing you each morning, and you're the last thought before I go to sleep.” Chloe drops her forehead against Tate's chest, her shoulders shaking as she cries.
“And what if we're not?”
“We are!”
“But if we're not?”
“Then I'll reject my given mate and take you as my claimed mate,” Tate said, and Chloe's head snapped up as she sucked a breath in. Her wide eyes looked at Tate, and then she shook her head.
“No!... You can't reject your mate! You can't reject the one the Moon Goddess made for you. You and I both know how strong the pull is to a mate. We're surrounded by mates. We learn about it from our parents, family, and in school! You and I both know if I'm not your mate and it turns out to be someone else, you'll never be able to walk away from them.”
“I can, and I will!”
“I won't!” Chloe said, and it felt like someone punched him in the gut and knocked the wind from his lungs.
“And I won't let you either. It's unfair to them, and it goes against our Goddess.”...
Afterward, things returned to as normal as they could between Chloe and Tate. The awkwardness disappeared after a few months, and things seemed to return to normal.
It wasn't until they were 17 that those feelings became stronger and harder to resist, especially when those around them began speculating that they were mates.
Everyone swore they were going to be mates, even their parents, with the exception of Xavier and Theo. Xavier was skeptical and wanted his son to wait. Theo was scared his son would end up hurt, and so would the Delta.
Damien was already planning their celebration for the moment they found out they were mates, months before they even turned 18.
It made it much harder for them to resist their feelings and easier for them to let go and embrace each other… Two months after they turned 17, they finally caved.
And now here they are, wrapped in each other's kisses, praying that in three months, they will find out they're mates.
There is a free editor note just passed chapter 94. It's a family tree of all the children relevant to this book.
Third Person's POV Nadja's eyes are open, but it's so dark that they might as well be closed. The fact that he's a vampire is useless in his state. The Elder is so weak that none of his abilities work—not his strength, speed, or sight. Even though the blood had stopped flowing from his wounds, the elder was still too weak to move. He licked his dry, parched lips and wished for water. “N-Nadja?” A timid, soft voice calls out from the darkness. The elder's heart clenches at the sound of the young, soft, and scared voice. “Yes, Roman,” The ancient Elder replies. His voice is quiet and weak.“C-Can you t-tell me about o-outside, please? T-tell me again w-what s-sunshine f-feels like? A-and what r-rain s-smells like?” Roman asked “Of course I can, Roman,” Nadja answered softly. Then he took a moment to gather as much strength as he could to answer a question that should never have been asked—a question the young one should have known but didn't since he was born in this hellhole.Nadj
Third Person's POV “Are you busy?” Ezra's breath fanned Dylan's neck, causing goosebumps to spread along his body.“No,” Dylan breathes out. His eyes closed as his head tilted to the side, exposing his long, slender neck. His heart races faster as soft lips brush against his skin. A warm, wet tongue glides along his neck before lips close around his skin, latching on. Ezra's hands roam the Omega's chest and stomach, loving how smooth and silky his skin is. Even though he just bathed, his sweet scent leeches through, making the vampire's mouth water. The Omega's body trembles as Ezra's fingers glide down his chest, over his stomach, before brushing against his cock that was throbbing for him. “E-Ezra,” The vampire's name never sounded so sweet leaving anyone's mouth before. Dylan sucked a sharp breath in as he was suddenly spun around, and his chest pressed against a firm one. For a brief moment, Dylan's heart rate spiked from fear. But it quickly vanished when his large doe eyes
Third Person's POV “They're going to get themselves fucking killed! We should have Giovanna put a bonding spell on Ezra. They can't raid any more locations if he can't teleport.” Silas slammed his fist on the table to drive his point home. Lexon took a breath in before slowly letting it out. “I'm not binding his powers. Besides, it would take Giovanna a while to come up with a spell strong enough to bind Ezra's powers. And even then, I don't think she's strong enough to do that. There's no one more powerful than him. The only person who comes close to strength is his brother, and that's not going to help us. Besides, his powers are almost fully matured. It's just a matter of time before Ezra's powers are at full strength. Once that happens, there isn't a spell on Earth that can bind him.” Lexon said, and Silas growled in frustration as he sat back in his chair. The Elders looked at their phones when they beeped. “ It's Vincent,” Aero said as he and Lexon opened their laptops. Their
Third Person's POV Aero looks up from his laptop when Lexon enters the office. He watches him for a moment before looking at the monitor again. “I know you don't understand because you don't have a mate. I was like you once. Before I found Jace, I never understood the mate bond. But now I have a mate. I have Jace, and he's everything to me. You know Jace. You know what he's been through. You know what kind of person he is. He is sweet and fragile. He has a big heart and cares about everyone, even you. How can you want me to be like you and drink from others and fuck all these humans as you do? You know what that would do to Jace! Do you really want me to hurt him? Do you really want me to destroy that little Omega? Because that's what it would do! He would feel it. It would hurt him! It's not the same for me anymore. I have a mate, not just a chosen partner, who will share in the same feeding and sexual habits. He has a part of my soul, and I have a part of his. Our relationship run
Third Person's POV Evelyn growls in frustration. She charges the stupid vampire again and grunts when he kicks her in the stomach and shoves her to the side. Evelyn lands on her knees and catches herself with her hands and grunts. Her head snaps around, glaring at the long blonde-haired asshole. She growls as she reaches for her thigh, pulling a small blade and chucking it at his face. Lexon smirked, quickly reaching up and catching it with his bare hand. Blood dripped down his arm from the blade slicing his hand, but he didn't flinch, nor did he move his hand that was still in front of his face. “Is this how you fight when you three sneak off and take the adult business into your hands? It's a miracle you're still alive!” Lexon snapped, and Evelyn roared as she pushed herself off the ground and charged the elder. She screamed as she leaped off the ground, legs wrapping around the Elder's waist and her hands going around his throat. Her claws sink into his neck as she screams in his
Third Person's POV “N-Nadja?” His soft and delicate voice calls out from the darkness, a short distance away. Lying on the ground, Nadja turned his head in the direction the voice came from, even though he couldn't see anything, not even his hand if it was in front of his face. “Yes, Roman,” The Elder said before coughing. His throat was so dry it felt like sandpaper scratching his throat as he spoke. “D-Do you t-think they will f-feed us today?” The Omega holds his stomach, which aches so much. “I don't know. I hope so.” “I-its b-been so long… N-never w-went this long,” Roman said, and Nadja closed his eyes. The young Omega is right. This is the longest they have gone without feeding either one of them. He can hear the desperation in the Omega's voice. He can hear how hungry he is every time Roman's stomach growls. The sound of metal clinking echoes loudly through the cells, and Nadja’s head snaps in its direction. Hope fills Nadja and Roman. The Elder shields his eyes when blind
Third Person's POV Coal stares daggers at his father from the bench. His left arm hurts like a bitch, and his muscles throughout his body throb. He made the mistake of getting lippy with Xavier, and his father put him on his ass and nearly broke his arm. His muscles twitch, dying to get back out there and fight. The Alpha tribrid stands but quickly sits back down when his father's voice booms. “Sit your ass right back down! You're done for the day!”Xavier turns back to Micah, and the Submissive Delta 1 takes his place. As Micah begins circling Xavier, Tate charges Marcus. The world briefly spins before the Alpha bear grunts as his back hits the ground. Tate's not even sure what the hell kind of move that was. The retired Commander grabbed hold of his head, flipped him over his body, and spun him before slamming him on the ground. The young Alpha grabbed his neck, making sure his head was still attached to his body. He wheezed before coughing. “Fuck!” Tate cursed as he pushed h
Third Person's POV Time seems to stand still in the blinding pitch-black darkness where you can't even see your hand in front of your face. Nadja has no idea how many hours have passed or how many times the sun has risen and set since they took Roman. This is the longest he's ever been gone, and the elder is becoming scared he may never see the little Omega that he promised one day he would save The Elder squeezes his eyes closed, and his shoulders shake as he cries. For the first time, his tears have finally run dry. Nothing rolls down his cheeks as he cries. He barely remembers what it feels like to drink water or even a piece of bread. Nadja no longer has the strength to lift his head. It's been so long since he's even had the urge to pee. The Elders's heart leaps in his chest at the sound of loud metal locks clicking, echoing through the cells. He squeezes his eyes closed when the bright, blinding lights flash on. The Elder is eager to see. He forces his eyes open, squinting,
Third Person's POV Darien stood in the closet, buttoning his shirt. His mind raced with all the different scenarios of things that could go wrong. He tried not to think of it but couldn't stop his thoughts from racing. What if they didn't like him? What if they hated the fact he was a submissive Alpha and thought he wasn't good enough for their brother? His thoughts spiraled out of control. He had just finished buttoning the last one and gasped when Wyatt suddenly appeared behind him. His strong chest crashed against his back as his arms quickly wrapped around him. Darien smiled as he tilted his head, giving his Alpha access to his neck, which he quickly accepted. Wyatt buried his face against his skin, nuzzling and kissing him.“You're right, maybe we shouldn't go. Maybe we should just lay in bed and snuggle all night. I'm having withdrawals; I need to drown myself in you,” Wyatt's voice was muffled with his lips pressed against his mate's neck. Darien's heart fluttered when the Al
Third Person's POV Grayson's laptop was long forgotten on the little table next to him. The Alpha lies on his side in the daybed, staring at his mate. He loves the Delta's smooth, pale skin and the way his dark, straight hair lies against his forehead. He loves how he chews on his lip while he reads and tilts his head when he doesn't understand something. He loves the time they are spending together, quietly sitting beside each other outside on the balcony, sharing the silence. “So… My job wouldn't be to fight for our people?” Sebastian's soft voice broke the silence. Grayson's heart swelled when he called them “our” people.“No. Your job as Luna is to make sure everyone who cannot fight gets to safety in the event of an attack. We have several bunkers. Normally, we use the two bunkers in the basement of the pack house. In extreme cases, we use the large one under the field beside the pack house, but we haven't used it in a long time. That one is big enough that everyone in the pack
Third Person's POV “I can't be a Luna; I'm just a Delta 3. All I know is how to be a pet. I don't even know how to be your mate,” Sebastian told Grayson before Ezra went to take down Luther. The book Sebastian was reading suddenly goes flying as Grayson grabs him from the sofa chair and falls back against the couch, wrapping him tightly in his arms. Sebastian laughs as Grayson buries his face in his neck, and his light stubble tickles his sensitive skin.Grayson's heart swells; Sebastian's laughter is music to his ears. He takes a deep breath in of the Delta 3's incredibly sweet scent, and his chest rumbles in satisfaction. The sound coming from his Alpha sends a shiver down Sebastian's spine. “I was studying,” Sebastian said, biting his lip when he felt Grayson's warm breath fan his neck. “It was taking too long! I feel neglected,” Grayson mumbled against his neck, and Sebastian's stomach fluttered. The Delta 3 pulled his head back and looked at Grayson. “I didn't mean to negl
Third Person's POV Ezra has been standing outside Lexon's door for several minutes, trying to get the courage to go in. He reaches up to knock on the door but pulls his hand back and exhales, letting his hand drop to his side. Ezra hangs his head as he turns to walk away, but the door suddenly opens. “Leaving so soon?” Lexon said, and Ezra slowly turned to face him. When Ezra looked at Lexon, he was relieved to see how well he looked. His skin looked completely normal, and his hair was just past his ears. “You look good,” Ezra said as he moved closer. He reached for Lexon's hair but paused when he saw Aero standing a few feet behind Lexon. “Come on in,” Lexon said as he stepped aside. Ezra swallowed before entering Lexon's room. When he entered the foyer, Aero turned and walked back into his brother's bedroom. Lexon nudged his head for Ezra to follow, and he did. As he entered the Elder’s bedroom, he found Jace sitting on the bed, watching a movie while crocheting. Jace looked
Third Person's POV Jace was concerned when Lexon slept the rest of the day, through the night, and into the following day.He was relieved when his brother-in-law knocked on the door late afternoon. Jace grabbed Aero's hand and quickly dragged him to their bed, where Lexon lay asleep. “Should I wake him? He hasn't woken up since he came home. I tried to give him blood, but he said he was too tired and needed a nap. That was yesterday! He hasn't woken up yet! Should I wake him?” Jace said as he tugged at his fingers, looking between his mate and brother-in-law. Aero wrapped his right arm around Jace and ruffled his hair.“He's okay. He was just exhausted. His body is working overtime to heal his body. Your skin is the largest organ in your body. He was burned from head to toe. 100% of his skin was burned off. I can tell the difference already. His skin is no longer transparent, and his hair is beginning to grow. See, look,” Aero said as he pointed to the stubble growing on Lexon's he
Third Person's POV Darien was excited but nervous. It was not only the first time he'd cooked in two years but also the first time he'd cooked for Wyatt. Wyatt's nose immediately flared as he entered the apartment. His eyes darted around as he closed the door and didn't stop until they landed on Darien. His eyes moved from Darien to the kitchen table, and his lips parted. For a moment, Wyatt is unable to move or speak. His lack of movement makes Darien even more nervous, and realizes he made a mistake. “I, I can make something else if you don't like spaghetti and meatballs. I, I should have asked you first if you liked it. I can whip something else up,” Darien said as he picked up his plate and Wyatt's. Wyatt was beside him instantly and took the plates from his hands. He set them down before grabbing Darien's waist with his left hand and pulling the smaller Alpha toward him. “I love spaghetti! I was just surprised that you did this for me. I wasn't expecting it,” Wyatt said soft
Third Person's POV Darien had a hard time falling asleep. He kept staring at the door and wishing Wyatt would walk through it. The minutes ticked by, and sleep refused to come. Darian glanced at the clock and decided maybe just a little peek would do. As quietly as he can, Darien pulls the blankets back and climbs out of bed. His sleep pants hang low on his waist, and his bare feet are silent against the wood floor as he walks down the hall. He pauses when he realizes the TV is on in the living room. But after a moment, he wonders if Wyatt fell asleep with it on. He didn't think he was watching TV; the sound was off. As quietly as he could, Darien walked into the living room. His heart raced, afraid of getting caught. He was relieved to find the Alpha fast asleep. His eyes were closed, and his lips were parted. He looked so peaceful, Darien thought as he stepped closer. He let out a quiet breath as he sat on the chair beside the couch. He put his elbows on his knees and rested his
Third Person's POV It felt so strange walking through town like a normal person again. It felt strange to be free. Somehow, the alpha next to him makes him forget how strange it is. The way his eyes sparkle with happiness as they walk hand in hand down the street. The way he opens the door for him, keeping his body between him and the road, showing chivalry, and making him feel special. It's something he never thought he would feel after what happened to him. He never thought anyone could possibly accept someone like him, but this man does. Wyatt does it so effortlessly. Darien smiles as Wyatt pulls him into another store. “What kind of art do you like?” Wyatt asked as he pulled him toward the wall of paintings “Maybe we can hang something behind the couch; what do you think?” Wyatt asked as he looked intently at the paintings, studying each one.“Um, I don't know. I think I like this one,” Darien said as he pointed to a large rectangular painting that would fit perfectly behind t
Third Person's POV Ezra stood in the bathroom with his hands against the counter, staring into the sink. Images flashed in his head of what he did to those he loved. Nadja warned him what the darkness could do, and he believed him, but he never thought it would happen to him. He thought he was stronger. He thought he could control it. Ezra found out the hard way that wasn't the case. He remembers recognizing them, but He also remembers thinking they were insignificant. Whatever love he felt for them was no longer there. They were below him and an annoyance that he wanted to get rid of. He remembers what it felt like to hold Nadja's throat in his hand. He felt so powerful holding the ancient life in the palm of his hands. He remembers what it felt like to want to kill him, but what hurts the most is the reason he dropped his flames in the first place: his father. It wasn't because his father made a connection and was close to bringing him back from the darkness; it was because he fel
