Third Person's POV Ezra aimlessly walks the halls of the coven. The soon-to-be vampire King keeps playing the scenes of their last raid over and over again in his head. He's trying to figure out where he went wrong. Even though they had guns with bullets laced with poison, it should have never been a problem for the soon-to-be vampire King. He thought he was too smart, too fast, and too strong… but he wasn't…Those thoughts plague his mind, and he has aimlessly roamed the halls for the past few hours. It's a myth that vampires sleep during the day and can't walk in the sun. Most of the coven is asleep, except those on night shifts and ones on opposite sleep schedules. Ezra's fist clenched tighter as he remembered the moment they began to lose control. He remembers feeling the bullets piercing his body, but that wasn't what bothered him. It was seeing all the bullets piercing his brother's body before he fell backward into a room and out of view. Ezra had never been so scared in his
Third Person's POV Ezra wakes up and is surprised when he feels a body cuddled against him. The King opens his eyes and looks to his left to see Nathan's head resting on his arm. The hybrid's arms and legs are wrapped around him, tangled with his own. It was a strange sight and a strange feeling, one he wasn't used to. He's never woken up with anyone in his bed before, not even Dylan. Ezra looks around, trying to figure out the best way to get out of this. What they had last night was passionate, but he never spent the night with them or allowed them to spend the night with him. It's one of his rules, so they don't get too attached. He cares about the Omegas but cannot commit to one person. He knows about mates and that they may have one, and he may have one, but for him, it's not a guarantee. Ezra is a young, full-blooded vampire. His sex drive is at its highest peak. All born Vampires go through this phase. When they're first born, feeding from someone is not a sexual experience.
Third Person's POV Nathan felt uncomfortable walking through the pack house. Everyone seemed to be looking at him, some curious and others with an unpleasant expression. They looked at him as though they hated him, and he had no idea why. The hateful glares he was receiving caused the Omega hybrid to move closer to Ezra. The King looked down when Nathan grabbed his arm and tucked himself against his side. Ezra lifted his arm and wrapped it around the Omega.“You have nothing to fear here. I have known these people my entire life; they're good people.” Ezra said he caressed the Omega’s arm. Nathan glanced around again and quickly looked away when he saw a female glaring at him.“I don't think they like me,” he said quietly, and Ezra raised an eyebrow in question. Ezra lifted his head and let his eyes roam the room they were walking through, and almost immediately, he saw why Nathan was scared. His eyes narrowed, and his jaw clenched before forcing a link open to everyone in the room
Third Person's POV Ezra tucked Nathan under his right arm while grabbing his brother. The very next moment, the floor disappeared beneath their feet. Almost immediately, grass appeared under their feet, and the sound of people laughing rang out. Nathan gasped and hid under Ezra's arm when he saw a dragon in the yard and a wolf fighting it. Nathan sucked in a breath, shocked when he realized the wolf fighting the dragon was an Omega, and no one was helping him.Nathan looked at Ezra, expecting him to help the Omega, but he seemed unfazed by the situation. The hybrid frantically looked around, looking for another solution, but he didn't see one.Nathan quickly turned around and tugged on Ezra's shirt. “Please help him. Don't let the dragon hurt the Omega,” Nathan pleaded, and he was confused when Ezra's lips curled up in a smile. The king pulled Nathan against him and leaned down, kissing the top of his head. “You are too cute!” Ezra said, only confusing the Omega more. “That's a y
Third Person's POV He was so small and light in his arms as he carried him through the pack house and up the stairs. The Omega remained limp in his arms as he cried. Coal didn't speak a word as he walked down the hall and pushed his door open. He walked through his bedroom and into the bathroom, where he placed the Omega on the counter. Nathan sniffled as he looked around to see where they were and was confused to see they were in a bathroom. The bear shifter remained silent as he turned the bathtub on and began filling it. He left the room, and the knots in Omega's stomach grew tighter. A few moments later, the large bear returned and set clothes on the counter. He continued moving throughout the bathroom without speaking a word.Nathan couldn't tell if he was still mad. He couldn't feel his anger like earlier, but he seemed angry. A clean, fresh scent began filling the room as Coal poured soap into the bathtub as it filled, and bubbles immediately began to form. Nathan wiped his
Third Person's POV Nathan sat at the counter, tugging his fingers as he watched Coal move through the kitchen. Soft music played quietly in the background which Nathan was thankful for. It made it less awkward. “W-What is your name?” Nathan's soft voice cut through the silence, and Coal froze. His head lifted from the green onions he was chopping, and he turned to look at his mate. “My name is Coal. What is your name?” Nathan's heart skipped a beat when he heard his mate's name. He thought it sounded so strong and fitting for his large muscular physique. The man was a beast! You didn't have to smell that he was a bear shifter to know it. His large, muscular body was a dead giveaway. “My name is Nathan,” He said, and Coal's lips tugged up.“Nathan, I like it! It's cute, just like you," he said, and Nathan swooned. “I'm sorry, it's nothing special. I know how to cook, but I need to fill the fridge… and probably the rest of the kitchen,” Coal said as he looked back toward his kitche
Third Person's POV The ground is so cold. Every bone in his body hurts. He has no concept of time, nor day or night. He doesn't know what year it is or how long he's been kept in this dark, damp cell. His body is so weak he barely has the strength to roll over. It's been so long since he's had blood. They give him just enough to keep him alive. They wait until he's on the brink of death, and before he fades away, they give him just enough to barely keep him alive. The wounds from the beating hours ago won't heal. Blood trickles down his body, pooling on the floor around him. Nadja coughs and then hisses at the pain in his broken ribs. The Elder spits out blood that he coughed up from his lungs. He wishes there was at least a sliver of light, but only darkness surrounds him. The Elder closes his eyes and pictures her face for the millionth time. He sees her beautiful, long blonde hair bouncing as she runs toward him. Her bright blue eyes sparkle as she smiles. He remembers the warmt
Third Person's POV Ezra can feel Silas's eyes burning a hole in the side of his head as he walks from the buffet to his table. He knows his guardian's words without hearing them. “You promised you wouldn't do that while I was away with my mate. You knew Ian and I were looking forward to this. Why would you go against your word? I trusted you!…” Ezra drops down into his seat next to his brother. Grayson turns his head and looks at the young man sitting next to him, who has short dark hair that probably took way too long to style. “Are you okay?” Grayson asked through the link. Ezra took a deep breath and then slowly let it out before turning to look at his brother. “I let him down,” Ezra replied through the link.Grayson frowns and looks down momentarily before looking at Silas.“I don't think it's as bad as you think. It's not like we went off and did stupid stuff like humans do. We were looking for Nadja. He's only worried about you. He's your guardian, that's his job.” Grayson
