After the incident, it was impossible for me to escape anymore. I was so terrified that my body went into a petrified state, out of shock. Phillius, with the help of that handsome, dark-haired guy, led me gently inside his car again. I should be protesting but I don’t know why I was so beguiled by those golden eyes and I submissively got into the car. The dark-haired guy didn’t go with us. Phillius started the car and we left him standing in the middle of that road while all the people started to get curious about the incident. I watched him in the mirror, beside the window of the car as Phillius drove away from the embarrassing situation I made.
“I’m so sorry if I scared you. I don’t mean any harm if that’s what you think. I want to help you, that’s all.” Phillius explained, his face very apologetic. “That’s my twin by the way. My brother.”
“He’s your brother?” I repeated, trying to voice out the words properly. I wanted to ask how his brother suddenly appeared in the middle of nowhere and managed to stop that huge vehicle from almost crushing me. But all of it was too much for me to say so I curled again in the back seat, still confused and dazed. Since I destroyed the door on the right side of his vehicle, I can’t sit near him which made me a little relieved. I don’t know why but there is something in Phillius that makes me feel so nervous…
“Yes. I’ll take you to our home so you could change your clothes and eat. You can stay there until you remember where you’re from.” Phillius kindly said and gave me a worried smile. “I’ll explain to you why I called you a Fae.”
I hid my face between my knees and suddenly felt ashamed that I acted so foolishly. He just wanted to help me right? I have no one to go to in the first place and I can’t distinguish anything that could make me remember my past or the kind of life that I had.
An hour had passed since I rode on his mystical transport. We stopped in front of a vast house structure that looks smaller than a palace but bigger than a manor. I cannot explain why I know such things but it’s like bits of knowledge that stayed in my head, apart from the details of my past. I wanted to try and remember more but I was distracted by the wonderful garden decorated with lots of pretty flowers, making the whole place so pleasant to the eyes.
The peacefulness of the place and the garden's scent are the first pretty things I have seen since I came out of the cave and met Phillius. I think I’ve seen a place with a magnificent garden like this before but my brain was still silent. I let Phillius lead me inside his home while holding my hand. His hands are soft which gave me a feeling of security and I gave him a smile to let him know how thankful I am for his help. He squeezed my hand in response. Maybe I can give him a chance to prove he’s a good guy and not the kind that my instinct tells me yet. It must be because I still feel so wary about this new environment that I am always in a full defensive mode.
So this is his home… is he some kind of a magnate? I wonder what title he has in this society to attain such wealth.
Funny that I can’t remember anything in my life yet I can understand his language. I know certain words and I have an idea how society works referring to titles and Lordship but when I try to rummage anything in my brain about my past, nothing appears.
As we entered his home, he immediately called random people’s names and after a minute or two, they all appeared in front of us, standing with their backs straight. All the female’s clothes are uniform and the old man in front of them looks sharp in his black clothing. I flinched when I saw their curious faces staring at me from head to foot.
“Anna, Hazel, please bring her to any of our guest rooms here and give her something appropriate to wear,” Phillius ordered the ladies in front of us.
So they are his servants.
I felt so alarmed when the two came to me. I held Phillius' arm tightly and buried my face in his soft clothing when they were about to take me somewhere, still a little scared of so many people around me. Minutes ago, I wanted to escape from him and now, I don’t want to go anywhere without him, since he’s the only person I know in this place.
“Hi, miss you will be fine… we will take care of you…” one of the servants smiled at me reassuringly and held my hand gently, pulling me towards her. My body somehow relaxed but I looked back at Phillius before and I let her guide me toward the place she wants me to go.
“You will be ok, miss. I’ll help you find your home. For now, you can stay here while I’m looking for any information if someone has reported you missing. You’re safe here.” Phillius told me in his gentle voice and the maids he called Anna and Hazel helped me climb up the stairs. My legs are getting more steady and strong and I can finally walk without leaning on something. I embraced the warm fabric Phillius had given me as I anxiously walked with the maids on both sides.
We were about to enter the corridor that heads straight to the spare room Phillius had mentioned when my eyes caught that tall man with dark hair, who saved me from my near death. He was walking slowly towards us, buttoning the sleeve on his wrist. Our eyes met and I felt like my heart skipped a beat, his expression stoic. I don’t know why I feel so fascinated whenever his beautiful golden eyes stare at me with curiosity. I just love how it glistens when it gets touched by any single light, making it so expressive despite his lips stretched to a straight line.
“Good day, Master Xeno.” The two maids bowed their heads to him.
So his name is Xeno…

The two maids, Hazel and Anna have been so kind to me. They always asked me for anything I needed, brought me food, and helped me with things that I don’t understand. There are so many things that made me so curious, especially the foods and drinks they brought me. I feel like I had eaten them somewhere but I can’t just tell. My favorite one is the apple pie they made.
Shaking the anxiety off my head, I buried my face in the soft pillows of the bed. I can’t just stay here doing nothing. What should I do? I have no idea what my existence means after I got out of that cave. But I believe something had happened that woke me up from that deep sleep. I can’t exactly tell what it is, yet. But there’s a strong notion in me that something will come. An entity that is dark and dangerous and it makes me so restless.
With a heavy feeling, I stared at the full-length mirror across the bed. I sat down on the edge of the bed and tried to cheer myself up. I like the dress they gave me today. The orange fabric with sunflower prints accentuates the color of my long, silver hair. My purple eyes look so vivid under the dim light from the ceiling. With curiosity, I touched my heart-shaped face and opened my full lips slightly. I have no idea why I suddenly felt conscious about my looks so I stood near the mirror, twirling in front of it a few times. I look so white, skinny, and small.
With my head full of so many questions, I thought of sneaking outside Phillius’ mansion to observe more about this place. Maybe there will be something that could trigger any of my memories. But men are guarding the gates, watching for any suspicious thing around the premises so I know it won’t be easy for me.
I hid carefully behind the bushes and I thought of something to use for me to climb the wall. I found out I could use the vines that crawled on the precast fence. I am small and my body isn’t too heavy for me to clamber up towards the other side of it.
I have to know what kind of this place is.
I was almost halfway through the fence when I heard a voice from below me. I was so absorbed in the idea of going outside that the manly, baritone voice surprised me from my intense concentration on climbing the thick vines. The sudden call took me off guard and I fell with a scream. Strong arms caught me and I am glad it wasn’t the hard ground at all. “What are you doing?” A pair of glinting golden eyes made my eyelids flutter in astonishment. His messy, wavy, dark hair almost covered his face as he looked down at me while I’m in his arms. His face appeared so rugged and unkind, the opposite pole to Phillius. Yet there is something in him that woke up my interest. I just love how his jet-black hair contrasts with his pale, paper-white skin. Then my eyes caught his pinkish lips and I cannot help but swallow down the sudden nervous feeling in me. I quickly pulled myself away from him but he dropped me down without a warning! I fell with a loud thud on the grass and my back hit t
I was brought inside a wide hall that looked like a throne room. This place of the mansion is so different from the other rooms. It has a different heavy vibe. I have a feeling that there’s something strange going on. Anna and Hazel were wearing uniformed clothes in royal blue color. They braided my long, silver hair behind my back just like theirs. It made me curious why they made me wear a long white dress, so thin that I almost feel like naked, revealing my bare shoulders and the cleavage of my bosom, making me uncomfortable. It feels like I am being prepared to be sacrificed which made me more suspicious. The two of them made me stand in the middle of the courtroom, the fire on the torches dancing as the wind blows, coming from the roofless top of the place. The night was cloudless and full of stars and the full moon shines its brightest as it showers us with its silver luminescence. All the doors were shut and everyone gathered around, all their eyes were on me, curious and daz
“HMHHPPFFT!!!” A hand muffled my scream. I thrashed my arms in bewilderment, struggling to get up and get away from my attacker but it caught the wrist of my right hand and pinned me violently against my bed. I kept on screaming under the mysterious person’s rough hands. I shut my eyes tightly out of fear. The images of the demons that appeared in my nightmares are still fresh in my mind, twisting my thoughts into a panic. Then, behind my eyes, purple streaks of lightning came to my vision, sparkling inside my head until I felt it manifesting on my skin, around my arms. “Sh*t! Hey! IT’S ME!” I-I think I have heard that familiar hissing and grunting voice before. Is that Xeno? Aghast and confused, I opened my eyes to his cold, golden liquid eyes his, illuminating agony as the purple streaks of lightning from my hand kept on electrocuting him. I quickly removed my hand from his arm to stop my power from churning him to a crisp. His face is so close to me that I felt so conscious ab
Xeno led me toward the corridor of their house. All is silent and only the night crickets could be heard as we crouch our way toward the garden. I wonder what time it is already. Everyone must be already sleeping. Just how many people are living in this huge place? and what functions do they have? This Mansion is too vast for only the Alpha and his twin werewolves to live. The chill breeze greeted me, sending goosebumps on my skin once we got outside the door and out to the gardens. Xeno became extra careful this time, knowing there are three sentries that are taking turns roving the place. To my surprise, he walked casually toward the gate and talked to one of the sentries who looked at me suspiciously. I exhaled in relief when it smiled and nodded at me, letting us both out discreetly. “I owe you this one, Frix.” “No problem, young master. Just make sure both of you are here before master Phillius looks for the Fae.” Xeno nodded and made a gesture for me to go outside first. With
That night with Xeno brought a special smile to my face and I can’t help but imagine myself sneaking out again with him while the entire people in the mansion had no idea about our own little secret. Well… except for the sentry guard, Frix. Since the day that Xeno proposed to his father about letting me join their hunting corps, Phillius became clingier to me. Everywhere I go, he must know. After Xeno and I’s small gallivanting in the city he called New York, it made me crave more of his presence and Phillius’ strictness about my strolling around the place during the night made it more difficult for me to steal a moment with Xeno. Sometimes, I have a feeling he’s trying to avoid me or maybe he’s just too busy with his missions. It’s so hard to get some sleep at night, wishing Xeno would sneak again into my room and let me ride on his back so he could show me the beautiful city lights again. Phillius was not happy when the Alpha granted Xeno’s request for me to join the corps. But th
His stare is so mesmerizing that I could barely breathe out of nervousness… my heartbeat drums against my ribs, wanting to skip right off my chest as his face lowers onto mine, driving my mind crazy. Is he going to kiss me? I bite my lower lip and in that instant, the gentle, kind look in his eyes changed into a burning desire. With curiosity overwhelming my mind, I let his thin lips brush against my pinkish, sultry lips. I tasted his luscious sweetness, giving me a fluttering feeling inside my stomach. He smells like the morning sun, so fresh and lovely and I couldn’t stop myself from wanting more of him. As our kiss deepens, our breath starts to get ragged against each other. My hands automatically grabbed the sleeve of his shirt, scared that my knees would shudder and lose my balance. But Phillius carried me effortlessly in his arms as I let myself go with the flow and slowly melted into his arms. I gasp when his tongue moves invasively, searching the inside of my mouth, and altho
If Xeno thinks he could get rid of me just like that, he’s wrong. After he morphed into a giant black werewolf and disappeared into thin air with the use of the invisibility amulet, I gritted my teeth and ran towards the gate of the mansion, hoping Frix is on duty for tonight. The uncomfortable feeling of my suit made it more difficult for me to move. Grunting with pure vexation against Xeno, I flipped my long golden hair onto my back and searched for Frix in the guard house. My face was in a rage when I saw him stepping out of the door holding a piece of bread and a cup of hot drink. “FRIX!!!” His eyes widened at my sudden call on his name, his hand shook, and almost dropped the stuff he was holding in his hand, “OH DEAR LORD! I almost threw my food! You scared me, my lady!” “I-I’m so sorry I need your help!” I lowered my voice feeling embarrassed and jumped inside his small guard shack beside the Mansion's huge gate. “My squad left without me and I can’t keep up with them. I do
There’s no time…With a speed I couldn’t control, I felt like I was flying towards Xeno, both my feet barely touching the ground. The adrenaline in my veins called my mana to bring out the purple lightning, which appeared in just seconds with sparkling lights at first, then the current swirled around my arms, releasing them in a surge of incredible capacity, hoping it’s enough to bring down the demon appearing behind Xeno.I heard the yelp of the werewolves as I passed through them, my speed was enough to get behind the beast as it formed into a demon, taller and more massive than the three trolls they first encountered. This one is dangerous. I could feel the pure evil reeking from its existence.“AHHH!!!”I cried in rage as I slammed both my hands down on the demon’s lower nape, sending the lightning through-out its whole body, making it scream in agony. The lightning on my hand made a dazzling light, blinding my eyes as I sc
“Darn it, Sapphire. Stop ruining your make-up. Please hold your tears back until the end of the ceremony,” Kelly scolded me. It was a bit funny though because when she was the one whose tears flowed incessantly down her cheeks as she watched the problematic makeup artist reapply the foundation on my cheeks.“Oh Kelly…” I helplessly looked at her as she wiped her face with a white handkerchief on the mirror, “Please don’t make me too nervous. I feel like I am already sick in my stomach thinking about the expectations of the people outside,”“You don’t have to think about any of them, Sapphire,” Ava uttered as she arranged the beautiful bouquet of white roses in her hands, “You just have to look straight in the aisle and just focus on Xeno. Just focus on him and breathe slowly and calmly. You will be alright,” she advised and held both hers and Kelly’s hand to ease the nervous feeling in my chest. They both gave me an encouraging smile as they helped me with my gown after the makeup art
Everyone was busy preparing for the wedding and volunteered to decorate the whole garden with white roses because they all knew it was always my favorite. Kelly has been busy managing the event with Ava because they want it to be perfect for me. Although they never wanted me in the venue, I still insisted on helping With the decorating because there are not many things to do in this place for me and I never want to go shopping just like Kelly suggested. I would rather stay here and be with them after Felrim gave me the very good news that he will bring my parents and my brother on the day of my wedding. And Xeno has been very busy with other stuff but he decided to delay all his meetings and stay with me the whole day today, organizing and arranging things to my liking. Kelly has been a great organizer though. I guess it was a talent she has been hiding from everyone and I believe it will open a great opportunity for her in the future. She’s a reliable person when you plan parties and
“I have never seen you blooming like this before, Sapphire. What happened?” Kelly asked me teasingly while giggling after she wrapped her arm around my arm and we both walked inside the Clarkson Mansion's garden. After the long trip from the villa back to this place, Xeno became too busy from all the meetings he arranged with all the advisors and staff of their family business and the people of his Clan. He finally embraced his destiny as the new Alpha and many are pleased that he is back, believing that peace will be eventually restored for all the people of the Clan. The ones who were not happy, the people who were loyal to Phillius had already made their exit and that was much better because Xeno believes that opposition in this pack will not be tolerated, especially since those people rely on Phillius’s greed after receiving so many gifts from Phillius just to gain all their support against Xeno. But now that my fiance is in charge, there is no way Xeno would let them continue t
"I can't believe it's almost over, Xeno. That I can finally sleep at night peacefully, without being scared someone would take me away from you again.""I will never let that happen again, baby. Never again, I swear," he whispered to me as he brushed away the strands of hair straying on my face. The party was a blast and I am happy that everyone finally got to enjoy their night even after Phillius suddenly appeared and surrendered himself to the Faes. And despite that Kelly declined Xeno’s offer to take over the Clan, I guess Xeno has no choice but to stay in that Mansion and manage everything until his father returns. I just can’t tell him that it’s ok for me if he would become the Alpha of his Clan but I know that he still has this trauma from his ancestors that he wants to run away from. But that pack was his legacy and so many of his people are counting on him for the changes that their pack needs. And I believe that Xeno is the kind of Alpha their Clan needs. He has more compass
“What is happening?”I didn’t notice that Xeno was already behind me when the three Faes came for Phillius. The confusion was etched all over his face as he looked at the three guards and then at his twin brother who batted an eye at the concerned expression on his face.“Don’t be too flustered, Xeno. I finally dare to face all the things that I did. You are right. Death is not the end of everything so I am hoping we could still see each other if I ever still have the chance to see both of you in the Realm of the Immortal,” Phillius smiled at his twin brother, his eyes full of peacefulness where I never saw any heavy or dark malice in them anymore. It was as if the antidote gave him a rebirth into a person that is now far from the evil’s grasp.“No Phillius… wait—”“No. Xeno,” Phillius furiously yelled at him, but there is no anger in his eyes but pain. I can see clearly that Phillius still doesn’t want to go and that he is scared that he will really be able to see Xeno once he enters
“Phillius—”Xeno’s hands quickly pulled me against him as if he had seen a monster from his nightmare. But I cannot blame him. Phillius indeed came back to his immaculate beauty. His hair was back to its golden color and shone under the lights of the chandelier, his body bulked and grew muscular once again, and his eyes were bright blue as if he had never experienced suffering from the curse all his life. He stood straight in his regal suit with all his focus on me while setting down the spoon and the glass of wine on the table. I never expected it but he smiled at both Xeno and me like he was a different person. All of us in the dining hall froze and even the musicians stopped playing music when all of them saw the terror on all of our faces.“I am sorry to interrupt the party but there is something I need to discuss with Sapphire,” he looked at Xeno with a humble smile which surprised both of us, “If that is okay with you, my twin brother.”Phillius' eyes were steady as he stared a
“Xeno.”“Kelly. I am glad you have already decided. Whatever it is, I want to let you know I respect it.” Xeno pat Kelly and William’s shoulder, “I support you guys whatever it is you want with your life. I am just happy that you’re here for Sapphire and me.”“You know we have been with you since the very start, Master Xeno,” Frix smiled at him and looked at me as he pursed his lips with a smile, “You have no idea how happy I am now that you’re both finally together again. You both have already gone through a lot, and we all witnessed your faith in each other.”“Wow, Frix, that was really touchy!” I chuckled at him and he just winked at me and pat Xeno on the shoulder. Kelly and I’s eyes caught each other and I knew right away that she was nervous to the core. She kept on pulling her fingers and puffing her cheeks as she blew out air, trying to ease the perturbation she felt in her chest. We all decided to make this night a formal theme to celebrate Kelly’s birthday. I didn’t know it
I can’t stay in the hallway and listen to what Xeno and the Fae talk about. I am too scared of what I might learn about Xeno’s past or maybe I just don’t want to hear the pain in his voice every time he has to explain it to the Fae to clear his name. I know this will not be easy for all of us now that the Immortal Realm is working on the matter after Felrim spilled everything to the authorities in that place. I cannot blame him though. He has to explain to them the things that happened to him and the reason why he was gone for so many centuries. I know that time was not too long for Faes who have eternity to live. But that must still be suspicious to them since they went here to check on me and make Phillius pay for all the horrible things that he had done to me and the other Faes that became his victim.Feeling lost in my thoughts, I found myself stepping inside the room where Phillius was sleeping. At first, I didn't know why my feet brought me here. It’s like my head was full of c
I can’t believe what Frix has just said. With a frantic heart, I quickly ran towards the house's main hall, expecting to see Felrim again. But why am I feeling too scared this time? Is it the fact that maybe they might not allow Xeno to go with me if they ever force that I have to go back to the Immortal Lands because I no longer should be in the mortal realm? My silver hair danced behind me as Kelly and I rushed to where the Faes that Frix was wheezing about. At first, I thought it was Felrim who was standing tall and straight in the middle of the hallway because he also had long silver hair as I have. But when the Fae turned to look in our direction, it was a different Fae and my heart suddenly shrank because there must be two reasons they are here. It is either about Phillius, or me. I didn’t realize there are two of them until I scanned the whole area.“Sapphire—”Another silver-haired Fae appeared from the other side of the hallways and was talking with Xeno, whose eyes automatic
