It’s been two weeks since the day Frank pushed her away and the night with the mysterious gentle stranger, Athena had tried not to think about it but even though she had tried to live like it never happened, he had haunted her dreams, his face, his hazel eyes, the feel of his hand on her body, the taste of his lips. One might say that as it has been fourteen days and she was drunk when it happened that she shouldn’t have so much detail of it, but that wasn’t how it was, every single night, she dreamt of it and the more she dreamt of it, the clearer and more detailed it became.
She had downed herself in alcohol during the first few days to forget about both the man and his touch but it was never possible, it had also been her reason for not going after Frank since then, although she had wished that he would miss her and would come for her, telling her that he didn’t mean what he said but that wasn’t the case, she didn’t see neither heard from him and coupled with her guiltiness foAthena stood in front of the biggest house she had ever seen, her eyes had widened when the cab had stopped in front of the house, people were going inside but they always stopped in front of the door to hand something to a very huge man. She gulped, taking in her surrounding, never in her life had she dreamt of stepping into a house that big, there were different types of cars parked around and everyone going into the house all dressed so beautifully that she had taken another look at herself, but having decided to come over, she wasn’t going to let anything discourage her. She entered through the big open gate and walked straight to the line which has thinned down by then.Soon it was her turn and she stood face to face to the big man who was dressed in black suit, with dark eyeshades, something like an earphone with a white wire was attached into his ear and the wire inside his suit. She gulped and stood straight, trying not to look intimidated by him, even though she was scar
Athena heaved a deep sigh and walked carefully around the room, she was careful not only because she didn’t want to be spotted and thrown out but also because she doesn’t want to slip and fall. The floor was too smooth and she fears that if she lets go of herself, that she might slip, it wasn’t just her assumption but the fact that she had almost slipped when she had entered the hall. She searched everywhere her eyes could go, looking for only one person; she avoided her face when someone looked at her for a long time. She looked different from all of them, she knows and she had no intention of staying around for long, she just wants to see Frank and talk to him, after that she would leave.Minutes passed and Athena was beginning to have the feeling that Frank might not be in the hall, for Christ sake she had been searching for a long time and still could not find him, it’s also not helping if the hall looked like it houses a thousand people and it was s
Frank wiped his face in a frustrated manner, “listen, I told you already, things has changed Athena, look at me, I am not the same Frank anymore, I have changed. I now drink and dine with celebrities, big tycoons, businessmen, my life has changed Athena and I adapted to it. But you,” he pointed his finger at her, “you never change, you are the same Athena, year in year out nothing new happens to you. We watched that firework two years ago and you still have this dress, you never buy anything new, you keep reusing everything that you have.”“How can I buy something new, Frank, I have been paying back our debts, the ones I got because of you, you promised to give me back the money to pay back, you never had and I am using all my salary to pay up. How can you expect me to buy something new? How can I do that?”“Listen, Athena, I know I am owing you and I will pay back, I promise, just let me have that money I have my eyes on, I will f
Athena was shocked at his words, “wha-what?”“Come on, Athena, let’s get you out of that cloth first,” he offered.Athena quickly clutched on her dress, she gulped and looked away from him, “I’m sorry about that night, that shouldn’t have happened. I was drunk, you were too, we didn’t know what we were doing, so let’s never talk about it, it was nothing but a mistake.”Due to the fact that she had her eyes lowered, she missed the glint that flashed in his hazel eyes, he didn’t linger to it and spoke almost immediately, “I never do what I don’t want to do, whether drunk or not, but if it will make you feel better, then we will not talk about it and address it as a mistake, hmm?”She looked up at him then, not believing he had actually agreed to that, did he really? It was almost impossible for Frank to agree to anything she says at first, she would have to go on about it for
Athena heaved a sigh, ready to meet the person waiting for her, when she placed her hand on the door knob; she sucked in a deep breath and let it out through the mouth before opening the door. She stopped short when she saw the man in the room, wait? He is a man? But it’s was not what she expected. He was dressed in a white shirt with three buttons open, a blue blazer on top it and then a blue pants with white shoes. He had make-up on and he hung his hand in the hair with a little flair of exquisiteness that she had never seen before. He looked at her, his eyes were aqua blue and she had every reason to believe that he was wearing contacts for it was too bright, his eye make-up made him look like Cleopatra. “Hmm, what do we have here?” He shook his head softly as he assessed her from head to toe, then he cat-walked to her. He stopped before her, she had stepped out of the bathroom by then and he waved his beautifully manicured fingers on her face, “hmm,
Everybody was busy dancing or talking with their partners or in a group, listening to their topic of discussion, one will realize that they almost talked about the same thing: the politics, the top models, the best actress or actor. The top designer, the caret of gold they were wearing, the number of zeros for the gowns they were putting on. How much the diamonds on their necks cost and so on.Waiters served the drinks and everywhere was in merriment until someone gasped, getting everyone’s attention to the double stairs with golden handrails, the stairs was a beauty but its beauty was not to be compared to the two people standing on it, the man in black including his shoes and the lady in Augustus Hawke’s Black seductress that was released few months ago. People were momentarily frozen by the thought that it took a long time for them to show any reaction. The man was easily recognized as the CEO of Brand’s entertainment, Sean Brand but who was the woman, an i
Frank heaved a deep sigh and answered, “Yes sir.”“If it doesn’t have those three things, then I am afraid you have failed, because those three words describe a woman and I want her to wear it, designed only by you,” Sean smiled.“I will be honored, sir,” Frank smiled, if care was not taking, his lips are going to stretch to his forehead at how hard he was smiling.“Great, that is settled then,” Sean turned to Simon, “anything I can do for you?”Simon laughed, “I was only looking for you to introduce our newest designer to you and you have already given him and important task, what else can I want?”“Oh, that’s nothing; I just love telling her how beautiful she looks by what she wears since she won’t believe my words.”Simon looked at Athena who still had her head down, “I’m sure you have said it to her so much that she found it hard believi
No words were exchanged as Sean led Athena through another dark staircase and when they finally came out to a bright hallway, she was surprised, it wasn’t the same hall that led to the dressing room, it was another one and this one looks more unique and beautiful. She looked at Sean, wanting to ask how many hallways the house have but decided against it, she didn’t want to sound inquisitive.Sean stopped in front of a door and she bumped into him while looking at the beautiful red drapes that hung on the windows, “oh, sorry,” she said.“Don’t bother, here,” he pushed open the double doors, “I hope you like blue,” he murmured before entering and she wondered why he would say that but when she stepped in, she knew why. The room should be named the blue room because the bedspread, the headboard, the curtains, the walls, the drapes, the chairs, everything was blue.Athena gasped, she has never seen so much blue, &ldquo
“Have you ever heard from your father?” Athena asked in the car on their way home.Sean kissed her knuckles with his ring on it, “do you remember the man I excused myself to talk to at the hotel?”Athena nodded; her head was resting on his shoulder, “yes.”“He is my father’s assistant. Turns out Amber’s illness was hereditary, he has been sick for the past ten years, nursing his health back with money but I guess the money can’t save him anymore, he is dying and his only wish is to see me.”“What for?” she raised her head to look at him.He kissed her forehead and made her rest her head on him again, “maybe to apologize? He has been trying to do that for two years now. His wife didn’t give him a child, they had adopted a boy and girl, I wonder why. Anyways, I guess he wants to make amend on what he did, but he made a mistake, my mother might have easily forgiv
Sean sighed but continued, “I took her back home to stay with Amber and I left in search of Leo, we went to my father and I told him about Amber’s case and he threw us out, saying he has no business with his past. Leo had told me we don’t have any other thing to do but the obvious, we had to steal. We attacked different stores that night and were lucky to escape without getting caught. On our way home, we saw a wounded man, we didn’t think twice and ransacked him, taking every cent with him but we couldn’t leave him there so we took him to the hospital and left him in front of it. The money we got wasn’t enough; I couldn’t go in and see mom’s disappointed face so we left. We stayed on the road, robbing anybody we could. We did it for days, five days I think, until I believed we have gotten enough that could take us to the city. When Leo and I got to the hospital, mom saw us and started crying, Amber passed on the previous night,
Athena smiled, “Sean, most of us have done things we are not proud of, but that doesn’t make us evil, I believe whatever it is you did, you did it for a reason.”He nodded with a smile, not looking up at her, “yes, for a reason.”“Well, you have my promise that I won’t judge.”He chuckled, looking up at her then, his hazel eyes shining brightly with the lights surrounding them, “I can feel that you won’t.”“See, even your heart believes in me.”He laughed softly then and closed his eyes, he sighed, “I wasn’t burn rich.”“I know that already.”He nodded, “I have a traumatic past. You see, my family was the perfect one when I was growing up. But then, my dad lost his job when I turned six and everything changed, he began drinking, wasting all his savings in gambling and alcohol. My mom would often try to understand him and w
“Athena, please….” Frank called back her attention and she stared at him, seconds passed as everyone waited to know what would happen. Sean could feel his heart breaking into a million pieces by the second. Leo and Gloria walked out to witness what was happening and Gloria gasped.“What the heck, is this guy stupid?” She muttered to Leo who said nothing and glanced at Sean, he knew about Sean’s proposal tonight but what he couldn’t understand was why he would just stand there and do nothing. He glanced at Athena, silently reminding her in his heart about their deal and that he would not hesitate to carry it out and he would make sure that she and Frank lived in wretchedness. What happened next shocked everyone, Athena took a step forward to Frank and Sean closed his eyes, he knew that would happen, guess he wasn’t more important than her mother’s wish. He was contemplating on how to walk out of there in his shame w
Reporters clustered the hotel that would be used for Fashionista’s fall, all of them speaking in front of their cameras to explain what was going on as they waited for the celebrities to arrive. With each car that stopped in front of the red carpet, fans would go wild with screams if it was their idol that arrived. It was explained that nothing brings the celebrities together like Fashionista’s fall, because even those that were on vacation always come back for it and some celebrities comes from other countries to attend the show.Different types of cars stops to discharge different people, all arising shouts and screams from the onlookers that were being held by barricade not to jump out and cause a mess, although securities would hold back those who tries to escape. A white car stopped and Esperanza emerged with her escort, her fans went wild for her and cheered her on. Sean had been merciful to her, in as much as she had thought that he would put her off
Three months has passed since the fire incident and everything has gone back to normal, the photo shoot took place two months ago and Athena was brought to the limelight. It didn’t help that Sean introduced her as his girlfriend at the dinner party that Brand Entertainment always host after the release of their new face. It wasn’t long and news about her started coming up but there was nothing against her except the fact that she was Frank Jones ex girlfriend, but rather than mock her, a lot envied her because she was the one that finally caught the heart of the famous Sean Brand.Happy with herself for making the right decision and following her heart, Athena had pleaded with Sean to talk to Leo about giving Frank his job back, which she had explained her reason as it was better to settle him and have him out of her life for good for she won’t rest well knowing that he was out of work because of her and that fact was bound to tie her to him because whenever
Sean stood tall and handsome in the white shirt he was putting on, his hands tucked in the pockets of his sky blue slacks, his hair neatly combed and slicked back and his hazel eyes shining brightly with intelligence. He could see them fidgeting and he sighed, then he took slow but calculated steps towards the table. When he dragged out a chair, he saw they flinched and rolled his eyes, he found himself praying they should not wet themselves with him still in the room. He knows why they were like that, they might not be afraid of the cops and could say whatever they want to say, but in an option to be questioned by him, they would choose being locked up in a jail than to face him.He sat crossed legged on the chair, his eyes never leaving them and they hadn’t looked up at him for once since he stepped into the room. He cleared his throat and began, “who still want to be a model?”The two ladies looked at each other and then at him but they looked down
It’s been a month and two weeks since the day of the fire and Sean’s wounds was healing, thanks to the honey and his medications. Enclosed in a room for one month sure has brought him and Athena closer than they were before. At least, they now do what they want without wondering how the other would react to it, since knowing about their feelings for each other.Sean had agreed to Leo’s and TB’s pleading that it was time they return to the city. He has been putting them off for over a week now and Athena had been secretly happy about that, back in the city she won’t have him to herself every single day; he would have to go to work, sometimes work over time at home, and would have divided attention. But even though she was secretly enjoying their unplanned vacation where she was his nurse, nursing him back to health, she knew they really do have to go back to the city. There are some things they need to take care off. Especially since Leo had found
Sean couldn’t take it anymore and immediately turned to face her, putting his wounded back out of her view. He pulled her into his arms and placed his forehead on hers, “it’s just body wounds, it would heal.”“If…if you hadn’t run in after me, if you hadn’t…” she was hyperventilating in no time, “I’m so sorry,” she paused, trying to steady herself but it was so hard to do when she was crying so hard and breathing so quickly.Sean quickly cupped her cheeks in his hands, “Athena, look at me,” he ordered, “look at me,” she finally did, “If I am to repeat that action a thousand times, I would do it without blinking an eye. I don’t care about the pain of the damages; the most important thing is that you are right here, standing in front of me, breathing and fine. You think I would rather save myself but let you die in that fire? If that had been the case, I wi
