LOGINRieka"You're supposed to be Goldilocks, not Sleeping Beauty," Sam's voice said from somewhere in the distance. The bright sunlight almost blinded me as I slowly forced my eyes open. "What the fuck happened, Rhi?" Jackie's voice asked over link. But I didn't have a chance to answer her."You guys had Izzy evanesce me here, you better get out of my way!" Trisha yelled out before quickly making her way towards me. "What happened?" she asked as she checked my vitals. I hesitated briefly. "Lupa must have been distracted by something and Kiera just happened to make her move at the right time." "You have GOT to be kidding me right now?! You're throwing me under a bus that I wasn't even driving?!" Lupa snipped before going to the back of my mind. "Well, everything looks good, but I want you to take it easy while your wolf heals you. Concussions aren't anything to mess around with. Come by tomorrow for a recheck," Trish instructed as she helped me to my feet. "If you had a concussi
Rieka "Aiden! Focus!" I yelled at my teenage nephew as I stopped the dirt orge that I created from kicking him across the training field.Aiden spun around just in time to watch it crumble into a pile of dirt mere feet away from where he was standing. "For crying out loud Aunt Rhi, are you trying to kill me?!" Aiden's honey colored eyes were wide as he stared at the large clump of dirt. His dark coffee complexion and distinguishing good looks were like a carbon copy of Sam with Jo's eyes. He also got easily distracted just like his mother. "This is training, is it not? Maybe if you had shifted into Waya instead of showing off for the girls you wouldn't have almost had your ass handed to you by your Aunt!" I said as I glared at him with my hands on my hips. By now everyone else had stopped their own training to watch the free entertainment. "I often wonder why he was given Waya," Lupa said sarcastically. I honestly wondered the same thing. I think we all did. When Aiden first
Rieka My heart was beating faster as the smell of burning flesh became overwhelming. The fiery sight before me was all too familiar as the screams pierced my heart and soul. I yet again tried in vain to stop the flames, but my powers were completely useless and there was nothing that could be done. There was never anything that I could do, no matter how hard I tried. I dropped to my knees and started pounding the ground beneath me with my fists as tears rolled down my cheeks and I screamed in frustration. "Rhi! You need to wake up!" Lupa's pleading voice echoed in my head, but I ignored my wolf as if she didn't even exist. I tried one last time to bring water over from the nearby river to douse the flames. If I could just save someone, anyone, maybe they'd be able to fill in the missing gaps that I so desperately sought answers to. I raised my hands and my muscles quivered from my efforts, but nothing was happening and the familiar feeling of failure started to take over me
Julia (flashback) The drop-dead gorgeous man was lucky to have been gifted with a body that looked and felt like he was chiseled from stone and the heart of a saint, because his listening skills were greatly lacking and I was close to finishing myself. "I told you HARDER! Do you not know the meaning of the word?! Stop acting like you're secretly playing a game of colf in the alley and don't want to get caught!" My voice was laced with irritation, but lucky for him it was muffled in the bedding I was gripping under my face as I kept my lower half raised in the air, impatiently waiting for him to do as he was told. "Are you trying to kill me, woman?! Is my demise your only goal in life?" His breathing was ragged as he gave me everything that he had, trying to fulfill my demands. But I had a trick up my sleeve that he always failed to remember. Magic. "JULIA!" He roared my name in shocked ecstasy as an invisible finger entered him from behind, immediately finding its mark that
Rieka Seth's alarm went off, and I gently elbowed him to hurry up and turn it off. I wish that I could say that the annoying sound had woken me up, but I was already awake after having another bad dream. Dreams about a life I didn't live, of people I didn't know, of a time I didn't recognize. But the dreams were the least of my worries, at least for right now. I needed to get my ass out of bed and get ready for training. About ten years have passed since the year all of our lives were turned upside down and we found each other .... and ourselves. It took a little bit to get all of the pieces of the puzzle to fit together, especially after the others had their children, but Gypsy Rain was stronger and more united than ever, even with our revolving door. "They better not have drunk all the coffee again," I grumbled as I got dressed. "I'm more concerned if those little shits ate my donuts again. Coffee can easily be made," Seth replied teasingly. Amar snorted as if he was irritated
Rieka I snuggled my head into Seth's chest as he lightly ran his fingertips across my back, sending tingling goosebumps across my skin and causing my nipples to harden. We had decided to spend the morning together in bed to enjoy each other's company and bodies, something we hadn't had a chance to do in a while. During our emergency meeting, we all realized that because Seth and I have vampire venom running through our veins, and I gifted the pack with magical strength the night of the fight, it meant that Moon Rain will never be your average werewolf pack. From that moment on, the pack and its members were destined to live like vampires. Which was only fitting since almost all of the ranking members had been changed. Seth had asked for my thoughts on combining Gypsy Moon and Moon Rain into a new pack name: Gypsy Rain. Of course, I agreed, and we held a pack meeting to inform all of the members what staying in the pack meant for them. Anyone who wasn't comfortable with the ide
