LEONA'S POV:Zach Newton was murdered at Flinch's property thirteen years ago. His family seeks justice for his death. But the police closed the case because it was proven that a wild animal was the culprit. Young Zach disappeared into the woods that day and was found mangled days after. I counted back the years. Darren was just sixteen then, and Don Rafael was still perfectly fit. I don't believe they could do such a thing as Zach's parents accused them. Another police file showed up in my research. "Oh, God!" I gasp. It was Zach's photo. Even his face was torn. Brutally murdered. His family recognized him by the clothes he wore the day he disappeared; the DNA proves it. The police suspected a bear, but from the looks of his body, it could be a lion, a tiger, or a wolf. I zoomed in on the marks on his remains, there were deep scratches, and it was impossible that it came from a lion or bear's teeth. My God! I hope it wasn't a werewolf. I went back to Zach Newton's profile. Previo
LEONA'S POV:"Oh, shit!" I ducked as the werewolf swayed his claws on my head and continued running, "Fuck! That was close!"Then, he threw a chunk of wood and hit my back. I collided with a tree in front of me, bumping my head. Blood drips down my face. I stopped for a second when my head started to get muzzy. I felt the ground shake as he ran towards me. Looking back, I quickly crawled to the pile of dried leaves, seeing him getting near. He was growling, and his eyes were sharply staring at me. Getting back on my feet, I ran as fast as possible but toppled on a tree root and fell. When I turned around, he was half a meter close and suddenly jumped off, landing on my feet. This is the end of me, I thought and covered my face. He raised his claws and was about to rend the life out of me when another werewolf with amber eyes showed up out of nowhere and yanked at him. Wresting the violent werewolf and smashed him against the tree. He didn't give him a chance to regain balance. The
DAVON'S POV: "Mom, I need to check on Leona. I need to make sure she's okay," I insisted, heading to my room to get some clothes. I had to make sure the werewolf who chased her did not follow her home. "Son, just stay here. Let Rupert check on her, please." Mom stopped me, she is worried sick, and I understand. She called Rupert on her phone. Instructing him to buy flowers and give them to Leona so he could have an excuse to visit her. She's probably in her apartment now and alone. The fact that she was on our property means that she didn't attend her duty today. Anyway, everyone knows she's one of the stockholders. Soon, we better announce so she could take the rightful position for her. I went to my room and decided to stay there to avoid Dad. He's been feeling better for the past few days, and my wound could trigger his tremors. I went to my room to change and to be alone to clear my head. "Son?" Mom knocked on my room while I was meditating about that alarming incident.
RUPERT'S POV:"Hold on. I'm going to my car. Can I call you back?" I said to Mariko. Leona was just around, and I didn't want her to hear our conversation. "I don't have time to explain. Before his thirtieth birthday, you must break the curse, or he'll be a werewolf forever.""But how? Hello? Fuck!" Mariko hangs up the call. I dialed her number, but she didn't answer her phone. I went back inside and thanked Leona for the coffee and cookies. "Are you okay, Rupert? You seemed upset.""Everything's fine, Leona. I need to go home to watch Aunt Sonia. Darren is not feeling well," I started to the door."Oh, what happens to him?" "Just feeling tired. I got to go. Take care, though, and secure the door. Bye." I left. Not waiting for Leona to say a word. For sure, she would ask more about Darren. On my home, I called Mariko repeatedly. It kept ringing until her number was out of reach. She must have turned her phone off. Annoyed by my call. When I arrived home, Darren was gone to his of
DARREN'S POV:My curse will be permanent on my thirtieth birthday. That was depressing. I'm turning thirty in two months. How are we going to find a curse by that time? Mariko isn't helping. She just flared up my aggravation of being a werewolf forever. A little advice from her on how to break the curse would be a relief. Not to mention my upcoming wedding. How am I going to marry Leona if I am still a monster? "Can you call her again?" I asked Rupert before we proceeded to Mariko's house. "It's now ringing! I couldn't contact her earlier.""Keep calling her. I hope she will have a conscience and answer it." However, I doubt if Mariko would answer out of conscience. She would have told us the curse. "Still no answer, Darren. I guess she's not going to help us. Let's just visit her place."I don't think so. Mariko knew everything. She just needs a little push. What worries me is that she doesn't want to talk. Is she hiding something?"Okay, let's go and hope she's back in her house
DARREN'S POV"Who's baby are you talking about? Am I adopted?" I concluded abruptly; otherwise, what baby was Mariko referring to? "For goodness sake, you are not! The baby belongs to Luna! Will you let me finish?" Mariko snaps back. It shocked me, and I wanted to answer immediately. "Sorry," I uttered timidly. Rupert glared at me for reacting. They can't blame me. A baby means someone else's child, and my Dad stole it. Mariko said the baby was the daughter of Luna. Other than that, she couldn't see any more information and suggested bringing my Dad to her so she could look into his memories. "This is freaking insane. Are you telling me a werewolf bit me because Dad took her child?"Mariko nodded. "That's it? I mean, that's not what I want to hear. I want to know how to break this curse.""If you are questioning what I saw, you might as well ask your father, who happens to be losing his memory, rather than searching me this whole time!" Mariko waves her hands and disappears. Rupe
DARREN’S POV“Pardon me, let me clarify this, so a mate is your partner for life? Like a wife? Although you are not married yet, but you are meant for each other?” I elaborated Mariko’s explanation for me to understand better. “Yes, that is how you call it,” Mariko serve the food in a snap of her finger, “Who’s hungry?” Fortunately, Mariko cooked some fried pork. The last time we’re here, the house smells fish. No offense but the only fish I love eating was salmon and tuna. But I prefer meat above all. “So, who set the mating thing? God?” I shove a large portion of fried pork in my mouth. I just realized I was starving. “I believe so, but werewolves praise the moon. They believed in deities. The God of the moon. A pack worship the moon that gives a werewolf the strength and heals their wound.”“Not surprisingly, wait, are you telling me that the moon could heal my wounds and everything?” “Yup! You just got to shift during full moon and showered under the moonlight.”“How come I d
LEONA’S POV“Leona!” Sophie giggled, “Finally! Darren is claiming you as his fiancé! Tomorrow, the whole world will knows about you. I’m so happy for you!” “Yeah, I was perplexed. What’s got into him?” “He probably hit his head somewhere. Congratulations, Leona. I got to go home. It’s late. Thank you for the dinner,” Andrei left grumpily, and I felt bad for him. It was unexpected. He was vocal about his feelings towards me.I called to checked on him, but Andrei was not picking up. I hope he won’t avoid me. He was such a good friend. Sophie urged to sleep for a beauty rest for tomorrow’s announcement. We are unsure if Darren would keep his word. Knowing he changes his mind and attitude really fast. The next day, when I was heading to my table, I met the stockholders of Flame Corporation. It was about the announcement. Darren might have called them. “Oh, Leona, you’re here. Here, bring this to the lobby,” Meriam handed me some files. I looked into it and it was the Muse Fragrance’
