Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I was hoping to finish this book before the New Year, but then I got pretty sick and have been fighting off this sickness ever since. The good news is that through all the sleeping I've been doing, I had a dream that gave me inspiration for a new werewolf novel, so hopefully in the New Year I'll be finishing this book while writing that one! I'm starting to feel better, finally, so I plan on getting a few chapters out between Christmas and the New Year. I hope you all have a great holiday season, and I look forward to continuing this story for you and giving you a new one or two within the coming new year. Happy Holidays!!
Crysanthi POV I woke up later than usual, but as I laid in bed remembering the events of the previous night, I couldn't help but to smile. Azak and I were officially sharing our quarters, and life could not be anymore perfect. He wasn't in bed when I woke, so I quickly showered and dressed so that I could find him. I followed the pull of the mate bond to his office, where I found him sitting with Fioré discussing Kingdom business. We had all been working quite hard to rebuild the Dragon Kingdom, seeing as how Fioré had never had his own palace so there was only one castle for the dragon Royalty. I asked him where Ember was and he told me that Azak had planned a trip into the village so she was getting herself dressed for the day. So, I went to find my friend in her quarters. She and Fioré were still working through the fact that he had raised her, so their bond was a little strange for both of them. I wanted to see how their date night went, and to gush about how great mine had been
Azak POV I knew that the annual Romance Festival would be the perfect place to take Fioré and Ember to hell them loosen up and allow the fated bond to do its work. The two of them just kept staring at eachother all starry-eyed all throughout lunch, and several times my little light and I had to remind them to eat their food. They were so lost in eachother that they didn't even notice when my light and I slipped away for a walk through the gardens. All I could do was laugh when they barely acknowledged that we had said we were going to go for a walk. It was late afternoon as we walked hand in hand through the gardens, enjoying the scenery. I was caught off guard when my light asked me why most of the water fae had abandoned my kingdom a century ago. She told me that her father had told her about it, but had never told her why. I suppose I should have known the question was coming after she had scolded those teenagers for bullying the young water fae boy earlier this aft
Crysanthi The screaming started just before the incredibly loud explosion, and I knew that something was wrong. I portalled myself back to the fountain to find pure and utter chaos. People were trying to run away, screaming from pure fear as freaks and rogues attacked from all angles. The fountain had become chunks of cement that were laying scattered on the ground, and I knew that it had been blown up. We were being attacked by the dark forces and innocent civilians were wounded and dying all around me. I immediately jumped into action, using the power of the earth to summon vines and tree branches to pull freaks and rogues off of civilians. I saw Fioré fighting off three rogue wolves, but I didn't see Ember anywhere. I knew the moment Azak portalled in behind me as I watched a group of freaks that had been going after the family we had passed earlier get surrounded by flames. Unfortunately there were just so many of them that I wasn't sure we would be able to hold them off for lon
Azak Lila. Ofcourse she had illustrated this attack on the Romance Festival. When I saw her I knew I had to put a stop to her once and for all. What I didn't expect was for her to lead me into a trap, or for my fated little light, who was already injured to come chasing after me. I regretted chasing her the moment I noticed that Crysanthi was in that field with us. As I watched those vines tighten around my little light, I felt my heart being squeezed in my chest, and I knew that if she didn't survive this, I wouldn't either. So, I allowed the words and feelings that I had been keeping to myself for months to finally come out of my mouth. Lila didn't take too well to that, and pulled the vines she had wrapped around us even tighter. I hated that I was unable to use my magic, as she had secured both of our hands to ensure that we couldn't. What I didn't expect was to hear the melodic giggle come from behind us as Lila ranted about how she would kill us both for the fact that ou
Crysanthi The last thing I remember was being tangled in those thorny vines and hearing Genevieve's voice as Lila sneered at us. Luckily I woke up in the bed that Azak and I shared with his orange eyes staring down at me as he smiled. I knew that we had survived, that Genevieve had somehow managed to save us from Lila's murderous plans. "Lila? Did Genevieve win?" I asked him afraid of his answer, though I doubted he would be smiling had Genevieve lost to Lila, seeing as how that would send Rayan on a rampage. "She ran off, Rayan and the Betas chased her but she got away. Ronan and the Gamma boy tracked her to a hide out though, so we have wolf, fae and dragon scouts keeping track of her movements. She won't get a chance to attack us again." He smiled a mischievous smile that told me that he was already formulating a plan to take her down. "How are you feeling my light? Genevieve and the Gamma girl did all they could to speed your healing up, has it helped?" He then asked with a
Azak We were all stressing over the upcoming coronation, but no one more than my little light and I. She would turn 18 two days before the the Spring Equinox, and I would be able to mark her, which would bring her into her full power. As excited as I was to finally mate and mark her, I was equally as nervous about it. Especially with Lila on the loose, who knew what kind of distractions she might have planned to keep Crysanthi and I from completing our bond. Regardless, we were only a couple weeks away from Crysanthi's birthday now, so all our plans were going full steam ahead. We had decided that after the coronation, Ember and Fioré would come back here to the Winter Palace to rule over their people who were living in the nearby village. That would allow for Crysanthi and I to have plenty of alone time for the summer, though I wasn't sure how much we would actually get with a war looming over us. But still, some alone time seemed appropriate after our coronation,
Crysanthi We arrived at my parent's castle one week before the coronation was to take place. I was in awe of the gorgeous, towering, stone building as we circled around it, just above the mote that encircled it. The dragons had offered to fly us and the staff we would be bringing with us in, and flying through the air was unlike anything I'd ever experienced before. The earth fae had built us carriages to hold people and supplies in record time after the decision was made. It was a truly remarkable experience and if I didn't feel like a Queen before, I certainly felt like one now. When we finally landed in the large stone drive, just past the cobblestone bridge, I was amazed by the size of the castle. I had heard a great many stories of it from my father, but this was the first time I had ever been here since he had portalled me out as an infant. The place was perfectly groomed and awaiting our arrival, with the gardens in full bloom for the spring season. I could tell that the nea
Azak With the coronation less than a week away, all of the staff was rushing around seeing to the preparations. As a surprise, Crysanthi and I had decided that while we have all of the royals here, we would throw Genevieve and Rayan a pup shower, which Crysanthi and Ember had spent hours organizing. It would take place the day after the coronation. The girls had sent out invitations to ensure that all our royal guests would stay for it, and had been planning everything from gifts, to decorations, to games and even the food. It was going to be quite a spectacular event, and I couldn't wait to surprise our friends with it. Fioré had set about organizing transportation since the dragons could easily fly everyone here, and he would see to it that they were all leaving for their destinations the afternoon before so that they could get there by nightfall, and leave early the next morning with the guests they were transporting. Genevieve and Benji had ensured that all of the dragons had ch
