Waylon turned his head and saw Cameron. She was sitting facing the fire, which illuminated her beautiful face.

His lips were dry. “How long was I out for?”

“Four hours.” She tossed a bottle to his feet. “The wound was infected, and you had a fever. There was a medical kit in the car, so I gave you a tetanus shot and some anti-inflammatory medication, so you’ll live.”
