Chapter 2 Brutal Death

Francesco watched his family run upstairs  until he could no longer see them, he went to the living room and opened a secret cabinet behind the wall where all of his weapons were hidden, he took out a fully loaded AR 556 Rifle, he ran to the next room where the intruders had already infiltrated the mansion and started firing mercilessly

His men backed him up firing bullets at the enemies" smoke and bombs were thrown turning the scene bloody, both parties shot at one another neither one of them unwilling to retreat or surrender, it was a kill or be killed situation and Francesco and his men weren't willing to die" victory was inevitable and Francesco could almost taste it

All of the sudden there was a power outage and darkness invaded their surroundings" Fuck!! cursed Francesco as he moved cautiously through the darkness holding his AR 556 Rifle

Surrender yourself and I might be generous enough to consider giving your family a quick painless death said a cold voice behind him

Francesco felt blood drain from his body as he recognized the familiar voice, it was a voice he knew so well a voice that belonged to the man he considered his brother even though they weren't related by blood, he felt like he was being stabbed with a thousand needles in his heart" it was pure betrayal" betrayal from the person he least expected Riccardo De Luca

So this is how you choose to repay my kindness" by stabbing me in the back!! he shouted anger surging through his vains"

It's nothing personal old friend just businesses" he said letting out a menacing laughter that echoed across the room

Stop hiding in the shadows Riccardo and fight me like a man" show me you're not a coward he said challengingly him as his hands tightened around his Rifle moving cautiously across the room

What's the fun in that he said laughing as he pointed his gun behind Francesco's head" he froze as he felt the cold metal touch his scalp

Put your hands in the air and turn around slowly or I'll blow your brains out he said as the lights went back on, do it!! he screamed pressing his gun against his thick hair

Francesco reluctantly placed his gun down and turned around rage burning from his eyes" it's not too late Riccardo you can still turn around and I'll turn a deaf eye to your betrayal for the sake of the friendship we once shared" he said looking at him dangerously as if giving him one last chance to rethink everything

So that I can go back to being your little puppy and live of your leftovers no thanks he said with a menacing laughter" Francesco do you want to know a secret" deep down inside my cold dark heart I have always hated you ever since the day I met you I have felt nothing but resentment" do you know why??

Because you have everything I have ever wanted!!

You consider yourself great and mighty but the truth is you're nothing but a weak fool" you think you can control everyone  without violence but that's just your childish thinking" I don't know if you realize it or not but this is the underworld Francesco!! and everything can be snatched from you at any moment, I had warned you many times to stop playing by the rules but you just don't listen you insist in being a fool and look were has that gotten you now" he said poking his gun at his forehead

Riccardo this is not over he said looking at  him dangerously, and he just let out a mocking laughter that quickly died as men entered the mansion surrendering every corner

You're surrounded Riccardo give it up said Francesco as his killed all of Riccardo's men" Francisco didn't like violence but that made him no fool he was a great strategist that's why he had called for more backup when he got the knews of the attack in case they were outnumbered,

Think again he said smiling deviously, bring them down Brother" he shouted looking upstairs , Francesco's heart dropped as he saw his wife and children held at gunpoint by Lorenzo" Riccardo's brother, he watched helplessly as he roughly pushed them to walk forward

What do you think you're doing this is madness!! he yelled in anger grabbing his collar and shoving him against the wall

If I were you I would let go of my collar" after all their lives depend on it" he said in a taunting tone pushing him away before dusting his suit as if it had been dirtied

Tell your men to leave" now!! he demanded threateningly

Riccardo please they are innocent" he pleaded in desperation looking at him

I'm not going to repeat myself Francesco tell your minions to leave or I give the order and Lorenzo blows their brains out he said looking at his wife and children

All of you leave, now!! shouted Francesco in helplessness"

But Boss" said Seth... about to protect but he was cut off

I said leave he said his tone low and dangerous, and one by one including Seth they all exited the mansion" happy, I did as you asked now tell your brother to let go of my family he said looking at him

I never said I let them go he said laughing causing Francesco to clench his hands in anger, he watched in amusement at how his mind games were angering him and decided to push him to the edge

Isn't she beautiful he said looking at Romona who stood at the edge of the balcony crying in silent as Lorenzo pointed his gun behind her head

Do you like her brother" he asked looking at him as he had noticed at how he has been looking at Romona disgustingly the whole time

Why wouldn't I after all she's beautiful he said with a smirk as he scanned her from head to toe causing Romona to close her eyes in disgust

You can have her she's all yours, consider her a gift from me he said with a devious smile" one more thing brother just make sure it's slow and painful, make her beg make her cry I want her to suffer before she dies " he said looking at Francesco who was boiling with anger

Francesco help me!! cried Romona grabbing tightly to the railway of the stairs as Lorenzo tried to drag her towards the bedroom" the children held on to her trying their best to help her but he was stronger than them

You son of a bitch how dare you I'm going to kill you!! screamed Francesco in anger as jumped on Riccardo punching violently" he did not stop to catch any breaths even though he could see he was already bleeding horrifically" Francesco looked like a vicious animal hungry for blood, in his entire life he had never been so angry it was as if he aimed to kill him

Let them go!! he shouted his blows lending on his face, Riccardo could barely move as he tried to push him off him but he was no match

Upstairs on the balcony, the struggle between the children and Lorenzo turned ugly as they fought for the gun" little Camila was pushed down the stairs and she rolled falling unconscious at the bottom, the side of her forehead bleeding profusely

Camila!! Romona screamed in horror as she freed herself running towards her" everybody froze at the sound of a gunshot fired by Lorenzo, Romona held her chest were the bullet had pierced through from behind before losing balance and horrifically falling off the balcony, a loud thud was heard as her body hit the hard floor

Everybody present witnessed the horror as she layed dead covered in her own pool of blood" Romona!! screamed Francesco crying for dear life as he ran helplessly towards her" he picked her up from the cold floor and hugged her tightly smearing her blood all over his shirt" Romona he called in despair but there was no use as she was already dead

Nicholas and Sebastian ran down the stairs tears falling from their eyes as they approached their mother" a half conscious Camila layed on the cold floor at the bottom of the stairs barely breathing and her white dress covered in blood unable to move a muscle painful tears escaping her eyes , she could do nothing except to cry in utter silent as she watched helplessly her father and brothers cry over her mother's death

The family was so distracted by the tragedy of Romona's death to realize what was happening behind them" Lorenzo descended the stairs and carried a half conscious Camila towards the door who was too weak to cry out for help
