Alexa

The stranger’s voice howled in pain. I stopped running and turned back. My heart sank as I saw him now covered in wounds, overwhelmed. A guard held him down while the Gamma pummeled the man’s stomach.

‘He’s losing numbers!’ Mythril leapt restlessly in my mind.

I bit my lower lip as I watched the pain on the man’s face with each punch from the Gamma. The emotion inside me grew. With raging breaths, I pondered the moral decision I should choose.

Could I help him? Was I strong enough to fight them? I groaned when finally I pushed my feet to run back toward them.

‘Yes, girl! Let’s kick those asses!’ Mythril cheered.

I ran until I was close, but still at a safe distance. Amid the chaos of the fight, I paused in front of a tree. I've never done it before, but the strength in me grew larger in each second. My confidence surged up. I hugged the large tree. My arms wrapped around its trunk.

‘For those who grow, there will be wilt.’ I focused all my thoughts on the tree I was holding. The tips of my fingers dug deep into the bark, pressing my hands hard.

My energy merged with every cell of the tree, reaching down to its roots. The roots moved through the soil and emerged from the ground near the Gamma’s feet, wrapping around him like a snake. With each extension of the tree’s roots, leaves fell one by one from its branches. A storm of leaves around me swirled and blocked my vision.

As the Gamma’s feet became entangled in the roots, he screamed in pain. One of his legs turned red as the roots blocked his blood flow.

“W—what’s happening?! Dark magic?!” The guard holding the man shrieked.

When his grip weakened, the dark-haired man jerked his head back, hitting the warrior behind him in the chin and face. The second guard groaned in pain, but the dark-haired man didn’t waste a moment. He knocked him out cold.

“Coward!” the Gamma growled, transforming into a wolf. His slender wolf legs, now free from the roots.

I pushed my energy again to lengthen and tighten the roots, but exhaustion soon stopped me from holding on any longer. The leaves had all fallen, the branches had dried up, and I trembled as I released my grip on the tree.

‘Goddess! That drained me!’ Mythril panted, and I, too, collapsed to the ground, so weak I couldn’t stay upright.

My breathing was heavy, sweat dripping from my temples as if I had been caught in the rain. Just when I thought I couldn’t go on, the dark-haired man transformed into a wolf as well. But he wasn’t an ordinary wolf like the Gamma, standing on four legs.

He remained upright on two legs. His body grew multiple times in size. His tan skin now covered in thick gray fur, and his back extended to a tail that grew from the base of his spine.

He was magnificent. He was huge.

His eyes gleamed like the winter night sky, staring down at the Gamma, who now appeared small in front of him. The Gamma hesitated, but his breath still burned with the desire for battle.

In an instant, the gamma lunged, aiming to bite the man’s hand. Of course, with the huge physical difference, the Gamma was overpowered by the muscular gray arm. The gamma howled as his body was thrown into one of the trees.

The Gamma tried to charge again, but a punch with sharp claws tore through the Gamma’s skin, leaving a deep wound in his stomach. He howled in pain and could only writhe on the ground.

“Monster!” One of the guards who had regained consciousness shouted, running away in fear.

The gray werewolf then walked toward me. His breath was heavy, and I could see wounds all over his body. We simply stared at each other, and somehow, I didn’t feel afraid of him.

‘My hero…’ Mythril cooed with a long sigh.

From a distance, I heard more footsteps. It seemed the guard had called for reinforcements. The gray werewolf, without a word, wrapped his arm around my waist. The next moment, he threw me over his shoulder like a sack of flour.

“Hey! Put me down!” I protested, but the werewolf with the mint and pine scent didn’t care.

My face facing the trail we left behind while he dashed out of the crime scene. My hands gripped the thick gray fur on his back, holding on so I wouldn’t fall.

From a distance, I saw some people chase us, but the gray werewolf ran faster, more agile, avoiding trees, and easily carried me along. It didn’t take long before I couldn’t see my pursuers anymore.

“Where are we going? Were you the one who saved me from the cell?” I asked the gray werewolf.

But he remained silent, not answering me. We ran through the forest, which gradually sloped down toward a long wooden dock. There, several yachts and small boats were moored. The gray lycan stopped in front of one of the boats.

“Come on, get on this boat!” He put me down on the wooden dock.

A loud gunshot echoed in the distance, and I instinctively covered both my ears. My head ducked, my body trembling in fear. My feet froze in place, even though I was just one leap away from the boat.

“It’s okay. Come on.”

The gray lycan wrapped his arm around my shoulders and pushed my waist to stand up. I then jumped onto the boat and felt the waves sway beneath me. After that, he untied the mooring rope and jumped onto the boat, causing it to rock violently.

I slumped in a corner while he started the engine. Once the engine roared, he shifted the lever, and the small boat I was on sped away from the dock.

“Alexa!” Alpha Alastair howled from the deck.

They fired their guns again. I flinched and ducked again. But it seemed all the silver bullets missed and sank into the water.

His howl tore my heart apart. Somehow, I could feel the sorrow behind his howl. It mingled with my own chaotic sadness. The fact was, it hurt to be separated from your fated mates. Either he was kind or wicked.

Alexa“Are you some sort of courier for the Silver Moon Pack? Or maybe Alpha Gabriel ordered you to pick me up?” I asked Harlow on the bus. The man still had a stiff expression, his forehead furrowed. After three hours of travel, he still sat silently beside me, not answering a single one of my questions. His arms were crossed over his chest, and his eyelids remained closed, ignoring me. “Hey, where are we actually going? Are we going back to Silver Moon?” This time, I gently squeezed his arm. Once again, a jolt of electricity sparked from the touch of our skin. He jolted awake, and I reflexively backed off. His eyes widened, and he clicked his tongue in irritation. “Can you stop that?” he snapped at me. “That’s not me,” I shook my head innocently.“Then stop talking,” he grumbled. Before he could close his eyes again, I leaned toward him. My head now turned, wedging my body between the narrow seat space. Without touching him, I asked him again. “At least answer me. Alexa“You can’t leave me here alone. Aren’t you supposed to protect me?” My eyes widened with a deep frown on my forehead. I looked into his dark eyes, which I couldn’t decipher. It was as if a blazing fire was hidden behind them. His jaw tightened. I thought he would change his decision, but he shook his head.“I have to go. There are things I need to do elsewhere. Besides, it’s better if we split up so those Alphas won’t easily track us down,” he scowled.“But—But how?” I stammered. “Go inside and ask for a man named Mr. Moris. He’ll help you,” he replied indifferently. The thought of entering a strange place alone and meeting a stranger filled me with anxiety. I bit my lower lip, furrowing my brow, and stared at Harlow, trying to persuade him one more time. “Please, stay with me just a little longer. At least until I meet Mr. Moris and know that everything will be safe,” I pleaded with him. Harlow raised an eyebrow. “If this place isn’t safe, do you think being with me would

I blinked, opened my mouth soundlessly, and Mr. Moris only squinted at me.‘I knew this was going to be a bad idea!’ Mythril complained.“Do you need money or something? She didn’t have it. She was just sold to an Alpha and ran away,” said Harlow, his brows furrowed.“Bad news, everyone has problems in this neutral zone. I don’t give a damn where you heard of me, but if you think I’ll give her a damn bed and free food, let alone train her,” he caught a breath, glancing back and forth between me and Harlow, “then you’re gravely mistaken. She’s not good enough,” the man scoffed.‘Not good enough,’ Mythril whined in my head, echoing those words in my head.I furrowed my brows and bowed my head. Was I truly worthless? AlexaI stood face-to-face with a girl named Jo on top of the square ring. A black iron fence surrounded us like a tight cage. It was clear they wouldn't let either of us leave freely. The choices were to leave on a stretcher or walk out with the mark of victory. My heart pounded in rapid beats, and my breathing grew heavier. After a few minutes of warm-up in the locker room earlier, I might still have a chance to win. Jo couldn’t possibly be any stronger after her fight against the big guy earlier, right? Both of my fists rose in the air. They trembled after last week's training session, which didn’t end up well for me. Bruises on my body healed in just a day, but that didn’t make me a better fighter. Always the same weak Alexa.“Fight!”Our eyes locked with unwavering determination. I moved my feet with small jumps. The ring turned out to be soft, allowing me to move easily.Jo threw some punches at me, but I dodged. Her punch aimed at my right cheek, so I evaded to the left. The sa

AlexaI stood still as I heard the reality of it. Werewolves and other magical races could heal themselves quickly, while humans healed slower and were vulnerable to various other complications. The crowd around me roared, expressing their disappointment at my victory.‘What the hell? Why are they going crazy like this?’ Mythril voiced its protest.“I…” Amid my panic, my voice stuttered.Somehow, the noise died down. The shouting began to quiet, and the crowd parted, making an open way through the crowd. I turned to see the middle of the room, and the once-curses shifted to murmurs.Mr. Moris walked calmly through the room. Such a pity—perhaps another time, with the right person. My steps guided me out of the dressing room. My eyes still felt swollen and sore, but the elders did not want to keep waiting too long. I had promised to sit in the ballroom obediently as soon as I changed my clothes. With a green shirt and denim pants, I was no longer a bride. Just an ordinary Lycan girl about to face the trial and investigation of the old men and women. They had the authority to control the alpha, luna, beta, and others in times of crisis like this. Funny, as if their power was greater than the alpha’s, but such were the rules to prevent anyone from abusing power. The elders cleared their throats as soon as they saw me. As I entered the ballroom, the guards closed the door behind me. The room’s decorations

Everything would return to normal as if there had never been a wound.“Alpha Gabriel, did Harlow challenge you to a duel for the alpha title?” Mr. Pascoe’s voice sounded hesitant.“Yes. Alexa and Lorraine are the witnesses.” Alpha Gabriel’s voice was arrogant amid his ragged breaths.“If Harlow can defeat you until you pass out or die, you will step down from your title as alpha." Alexa voiced her threat between sobs.Gabriel burst into laughter. He scoffed at me, helpless on the floor from the pain. I bit my lower lip, trying to find a moment of calm to regain even a sliver of strength my wolf longed for.“You all see for yourselves! Harlow is already lying there, in his last breaths. Look at his severe wounds. I doubt he can defeat me.” Gabriel scoffed.“As long as he hasn’t passed out, he still ha

Instead of keeping a living witness silent with threats, he attempted a killing spree.“Do you think you will survive after doing all this madness? Do you think you could get away from punishment later?” I asked, raising both fists in front of my chest.“Of course! Because I am stronger than you, and I am the alpha.” Gabriel grinned. In an instant, Alexa and Lorraine ran out of the dressing room with panicked screams. Gabriel lunged at me. My eyes locked onto his shimmering ones. Unable to avoid it any longer, I gave him a glimmer of hope that should have faded. This time, I wouldn’t give up.“What if we negotiate with him?” I asked, my voice trembling as I held back tears.“Negotiate?” His brows furrowed.“Yes. What if I told you that we had an option? The ivory-white off-shoulder gown I wore was indeed beautiful and luxurious. Crystals and pearls adorned the satin fabric, reflecting every spectrum of light that touched it. Under the spotlight, I shimmered in the embrace of diamond jewelry decorating my neck, ears, wrists, and hair. But none of it meant anything to me. I was merely going to be Gabriel’s slave, never tasting the freedom I had dreamed of with Harlow. With the lube poured into my hand by Alastair, mixed with their pre-cum, I lubricated the stiffening cock in my hand. Meanwhile, the blond Gabriel had his arms around Lorraine’s waist.“Why are you wearing masks?” I asked, my forehead furrowed.“We’re competing, Alexa. We don’t want you glued to our faces,” Romero swallowed.I rolled my eyeballs upwards and strode towards them. “But that mask is creepy and reminds me of the auction. Besides, I can already tell you guys apart, even if you wear masks.”“Ah, I see what you mean.
