Victoria raised her head, trying to ward off the lingering sleepiness. The door opened slowly and Logan appeared in his trademark leather jacket. His face looked tired, but his eyes were as sharp as ever.

“When did you arrive?”

“I need to talk,” he said bluntly. There was no answer to his question, making Victoria growl in annoyance.

“Mr. Logan, this is not the right time. I'm tired, and Abigail would look for me if I wasn't by her side.”

Logan sighed deeply, moving his wheelchair closer to her. “I know you're mad at me, Victoria. But this is important. Can we talk? Just for a moment. “At first Logan wanted to be forceful, but when he visited this room last night he felt sorry for Victoria's tired face. Even though the woman could have gotten enough rest, as Logan thought, she wouldn't leave Abigail under the supervision of someone else just like that.

Victoria had just returned to Abigail's treatment room when sleepiness struck again. She sighed, trying to gather the energy left after her long conversation with Logan.“I need to sleep,” she murmured, half-whispering to herself.“Get enough rest.”The voice made her turn her head. She almost forgot about Logan, who was now standing in the doorway, staring at her with a difficult look in his eyes. Victoria just nodded slowly in response, letting the man leave without another word.Ben, who was standing not far from Logan, also said goodbye with a respectful nod before they both left the hospital.Victoria stared blankly at the door of Abigail's treatment room again.“What ... should I reconsider Logan's words?” she thought to herself. There were many things that bothered her mind, but she knew it wasn't the right time to make big decisions. She had to calm down first.Inside the room, Abigail was still asleep with a pale face. The IV was still attached to her small hand, while the me

Victoria sat in the corner of the room, carefully watching the interaction between Abigail and Logan. There was a real warmth between them—something rarely seen in Logan's usually cold demeanor.“Looks like I'm being left out,” she muttered quietly, more to herself. But, strangely, a small smile still adorned her face.Abigail seemed much more cheerful since Logan arrived. The little girl asked a lot of questions, and Logan answered them calmly, straightforwardly, but still full of tenderness.Occasionally, the man asked Victoria questions, but the woman was reluctant to respond too much. Whatever Logan said, she still found it hard to fully believe his intentions. She knew Logan wanted something from her—consent to move Abigail to Grace's recommended hospital.Even though Logan had put his trusted people in charge of watching over Abigail, Victoria still couldn't allow her daughter to be alone without her own supervision. However,

“Abigail's condition is much better. But you still have to consider my advice, Victoria. Don't delay too long.”Chris's voice sounded firm, but still sincere. The look in his eyes showed deep concern. “As the doctor who treated Abigail from the start, I am trying my best for her condition.”Victoria nodded in understanding. She knew very well how much attention Chris paid to her daughter. I don't know how much help that man has given since Abigail was too young to understand that she had to visit the hospital often just to make sure her health remained stable.“You too, Victoria. Take care of your health. Your face is too pale. Get enough rest.”A slight smile appeared on Victoria's lips. “Is it that bad?”Chris nodded without hesitation. He wasn't the only one to say it. Logan had also repeatedly asked her to rest, not to mention Chelsea and Ben who kept warning her not to push herself too hard. They even urged her not to hesitate to ask for help if needed.Victoria was used to doing

Victoria sat in front of Chris with mixed feelings. The man's face looked a little tense as he conveyed his decision to transfer Abigail to another hospital.Chris stared at her intently before finally saying in a soft voice, “Victoria, are you sure about this decision? I'm not saying another hospital isn't good, but Abigail has been getting intensive care here, and we understand her condition well.”Victoria swallowed, trying to keep her tone steady. “I understand, Doc. But the facilities at that hospital are more complete, especially for the long-term care that Abby might need. And... there is someone who fully supports this move.”Chris sighed. There was a glint in his eye that made it even harder for Victoria to shake her doubts.“I only want the best for you and Abby. You know that, don't you?”Victoria nodded. Her heart felt heavy, but she couldn't let her emotions get the better of her logic. “Of course, Doc. I really appreciate everything you've done. But I have to try everyth

Victoria took a deep breath before entering the cafe that Grace mentioned in her message. The smell of coffee and the sound of clinking cups filled the air, but nothing could ease her anxiety. Her gaze swept across the room until she found Grace sitting in the corner, accompanied by her son James. Her steps paused for a moment. It was unusual for Grace to bring James to this kind of meeting.Carefully, Victoria stepped closer, trying to keep her expression neutral even though something in her wondered—what exactly did they want from her this time?“Victoria,” Grace greeted with a not entirely sincere smile. “Sit down. I've ordered tea for you.”Victoria nodded briefly and took a seat in the empty chair in front of them. James glanced at her with a slight smile, but said nothing. He decided to get straight to the point. “I don't have much time. What would you like to talk about?”Grace sipped her coffee slowly before answering. “Calm down first, Victoria. I just want to make sure every

Victoria walked quickly through the hospital hallway. Even though Noah had asked her not to rush, she couldn't slow down. It was as if an invisible force was pulling her towards Abigail's hospital room. When the door opened, the child's sweet smile greeted her—although her face was still a little pale.“Mommy!” she cried weakly, but it was enough to warm Victoria's heart. She immediately approached, gently stroking her daughter's hair, which had been tidied up again after the nurse cleaned it this morning.“How are you feeling today, sweetheart?” she asked, sitting on the edge of the bed.Abigail smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement. “Better, Mommy. Doctor Hans said I'm a VIP patient. That means I'm special, right?”Victoria chuckled, although her heart felt bitter. “Of course you are special. You have always been the most special in Mommy's eyes.”Abigail giggled, then pulled the blanket tighter. Her cheeks began to turn red, a sign that her condition was slowly improving. But

Victoria sat in the passenger seat, her eyes blank as she stared at the ever-changing streets outside the window. Noah's voice was faintly heard from the steering wheel, trying to get her to talk, but she only responded with a short murmur. Her mind was still full, circling around the conversation she had just had with Grace.Suddenly, his cell phone rang. Logan's name appeared on the screen. He took a deep breath before finally picking it up.“Woman, what took you so long?” Logan's voice sounded sharp, but there was something behind the tone—a concern he couldn't hide. “What did she tell you?”Victoria bit her lip, trying to calm herself before answering, “She's just making sure everything is going according to plan.”“Don't mess with me, Victoria. You know I can feel when something's wrong.”Victoria's gaze remained straight ahead, even though her chest felt increasingly tight.“Logan, I've made sure everything is safe. Grace just wants to make sure I do my job the way she asked.”T

That night, Victoria's body felt weaker and weaker. Her gaze occasionally glowed, and every step she took felt so heavy, as if all her energy had been drained. In the room, Ella looked at her with an expression of worry that was difficult to hide.“Mrs. Victoria, are you okay?” she asked, her tone soft but attentive.Victoria shook her head slowly, forcing a slight smile. “I'm just a little tired, Ella. Maybe I just need a little rest.”However, Ella's gaze remained sharp, full of doubt. “But you look very pale,” she said, her voice containing an anxious tone.“It's okay,” Victoria said, trying to reassure her. “Can you keep Abigail company tonight? Victoria had just gotten up, preparing to leave Logan with all the emotional scars she carried, when her cell phone vibrated. Chris's name appeared on the screen, making her catch her breath.“Chris?” Her voice trembled as she answered the call.“Victoria, you have to get here right away,” Chris' voice sounded urgent. ‘Abigail's condition is worsening. We have to do a spinal cord transplant as soon as possible. We need a donor immediately.”Victoria's blood seemed to freeze. Her legs weakened, forcing her to hold on to the table so she wouldn't fall. ’I'll be right there.”Without waiting for an answer, she immediately hung up and hurried out of the cafe. She didn't care if Logan called her, trying to stop her. However, when she arrived at the hospital, she found Logan had followed her.Chris was waiting for her in front of Abigail's treatment room. His face looked serious, his eyes full of fatigue.

It was quite late at night when Victoria made sure Abigail was fast asleep. The little girl's even breathing and peaceful face brought a little calm to her heart. However, her thoughts were still filled with the unexpected encounter earlier that afternoon. Frans, with all his arrogance, had managed to shake the determination that she had worked so hard to build. After making sure Abigail was comfortable, Victoria decided to step out for a moment. There was a small coffee shop at the end of the street that she knew wasn't too busy at this time of day. Wearing a light jacket, she whispered to the nurse on duty in front of Abigail's room.“If anything happens, please contact me immediately,” she pleaded. The nurse nodded obediently, and Victoria stepped outside. The night air was quite cold, but she enjoyed it. Her steps felt light, even though her thoughts remained heavy. The small shop was almost empty, with only a couple of young people sittin

The days felt so long, but at least there was a glimmer of hope. Victoria spent almost all her time in the hospital, sitting by Abigail's bedside. The girl's small face was beginning to show a little color, although she still looked pale. Her tiny, weak hands gripped Victoria's fingers, and although the grip was barely perceptible, the small touch gave her extraordinary strength.Meanwhile, Logan continued his routine with unwavering determination. Even though he had to walk with a cane, he still went to the office, making sure Dallas Corp was still running after the dark times Grace left. Occasionally, he would send Victoria a message, asking about Abigail's condition or simply reminding her to eat.“Mommy, I want ice cream...” Abigail muttered hoarsely.Victoria smiled gently, stroking her daughter's hair lovingly. “Honey, you can't have ice cream yet. Dr. Chris says you still have to eat soft foods first.”Abigail pouted, her bi

Logan arrived at the Victoria family home quickly. His black car stopped gracefully in front of the fence, creating an aura of undeniable authority. With a cane in his hand, he got out, his eyes full of controlled anger. On the doorstep, James, Abigail, and Lucy appeared, their gaze filled with shock at the sight of the man.“What is this?” James asked suspiciously, his expression hardening.Logan stared at them sharply, without a shred of doubt in his eyes. ‘I hear you refused to help Abigail. But I haven't come to beg. I want to make you an offer.”“An offer?’ Lucy cocked her head, her expression instantly changing to one of interest.“That's right,” Logan replied firmly. ‘I will pay dearly if one of you is suitable to be a donor for Abigail. Cash, in large enough amounts to change your lives.”Instantly, James, Abigail, and Lucy's eyes lit up. Greed was clearly etched on their fa

That morning, Victoria sat next to Abigail's bed, her fingers tightly gripping the girl's small hand. Abigail's pale face cut her to the heart, even though she had passed her critical period the night before. The morning sunlight penetrated the window curtains, but its warmth was unable to dispel the anxiety that continued to haunt Victoria's heart.Chris entered the room with calm steps, a tablet in his hand. His face was serious, as always, but this time there was a note of caution in his voice.“Mrs. Victoria,” he called, breaking the silence. ‘I would like to update you on Abigail's condition.”Victoria immediately stood up, looking at the doctor attentively. ’How is she, Doc? Has she really passed her critical period?”Chris nodded slowly. “For now, yes. Last night's blood transfusion helped stabilize her hemoglobin levels. But...”Victoria could feel the tension in his tone of voice. ‘But

That morning, the sun shone warmly, illuminating the therapy room downstairs. Victoria stood in the corner of the room, watching Logan practice his little steps. The cane he used was starting to touch the floor less and less. He walked slowly, his leg muscles working hard to support his body.“Good, Mr. Logan,” Victoria said in a soft voice. ‘Try stepping your right foot a little further. Yes, like that.”Logan nodded without looking back, his focus entirely on the movement he was making. His breathing sounded labored, but there was no sign of giving up on his face.“I can go further than this, Victoria,’ he said firmly.Victoria smiled, admiring his enthusiasm. “I know you can. But don't push yourself too hard.”He paused, wiping the sweat from his forehead. ”If I don't push myself, how can I fully recover?”Victoria didn't answer immediately. I've taken steps to make sure he can't do anything.”Victoria nodded slowly, although her heart was still filled with an inexplicable anxiety. To take her mind off things, Victoria spent time with Abigail in the playroom. The little girl sat on the floor, busy coloring with a concentrated face.“Mommy, who was that angry person outside?” Abigail suddenly asked without taking her eyes off the picture she was coloring.Victoria was silent for a moment. Then, with a calm smile, she said, ”Just a rude guest, dear. Nothing to worry about.”Abigail nodded, but the look in her eyes showed a little anxiety. “I don't like people who are angry. They're scary.”Victoria rubbed her head gently. ‘Mama doesn't like them either. But don't worry, Uncle Logan and Mama will always protect you.”The little girl finally smiled, before handing over the picture she had just finished. ’It's for Mama.”Victoria stared at t

That morning, Victoria woke up feeling a sense of relief that she rarely felt. The anxiety that had been haunting her mind was slowly fading away. Logan was starting to show signs of returning to his old self—not just a wounded and angry man, but someone trying to find his way back.Sunlight filtered through the bedroom curtains, casting a golden hue into the room. Warm. Bringing hope.In the kitchen, Victoria began preparing breakfast. Every movement felt like a ritual, giving her time to reflect on the days they had spent together. Cheese omelet for Abigail, fluffy pancakes for Logan, and warm lemon tea for herself. Her hope was simple—this morning would be a better start for everyone in this house.“Uncle Logan is up, Mom?”Abigail's cheerful voice broke her reverie. The little girl stood by the table with shining eyes, full of enthusiasm as usual.“Not yet, dear,” Victoria replied, stirring the pancake batter. ‘But he will be out soon. Abigail ran up to him, her big smile making her tiny face even brighter.Logan crouched slowly, trying not to put too much weight on his legs. He opened his arms, welcoming the little girl into his arms.“How was your day, Abby?“ he asked, rubbing her silky hair.“Today was fun!” Abigail exclaimed enthusiastically. “I learned a lot from Miss Hana, and... I was waiting for you to come home!”Logan's smile grew wider. This child always knew how to make him feel appreciated. “You're a smart girl,” he praised, pinching her cheek gently. From the kitchen, Victoria appeared. Her smile was as friendly as ever, but Logan could see something different in her eyes—something warmer.“Welcome back, Mr. Logan. How was your trip?” she asked politely.Logan raised an eyebrow, feigning surprise. “Is that a new way of welcoming a husband?” he teased in a light tone, even though he knew the woman would maintain formality.Victoria chuckled, her expression softening slightly. “I have prepared a special
