“Looks like there's something exciting going on, Mrs. Victoria,” William greeted kindly as Victoria entered the kitchen.

Victoria frowned, looking at him in surprise. “What do you mean, William?”

William, who was tidying up the utensils on the kitchen counter, gave a small frown. “I told you, please just call me William, not Head Chef.”

Victoria put on her apron and pulled her hair back, making sure no one interrupted her as she started preparing breakfast. “Isn't your job here as Head Chef?” she teased.

“Well, I relent,” William replied in a joking tone.

Victoria chuckled, but her smile soon faded. “I'm not in a happy mood, but at least I'm trying to greet this morning with a positive feeling.”

William smiled warmly. “I'm glad you're in the house, Mrs. Victoria.” He opened the large refrigerator nearby. “So, what would you like to prepare for breakfast

Victoria entered the room with quiet steps, carrying a tray of snacks and a cup of low-caffeine green tea. Her gaze immediately fell on Logan sitting in a wheelchair, looking as calm as ever. Next to him, a man in a white coat stood with a clipboard in hand, ready to go about his business.“Good afternoon,” she greeted with a faint smile.Doctor Bernard Krum, a man with a round face and thinning hair, turned his head and immediately flashed a friendly smile. “Ah, you must be Victoria. It's a pleasure to finally meet you. I heard a lot about you from Grace.”Victoria nodded politely, though inwardly there was a feeling of reluctance. “Yes, I'm Victoria. Thank you for taking the time to check on Mr. Logan.”Without being asked, she placed the tray on the small table near Logan. The reason was simple-if at any time Bernard tried to remove her from the room, she could argue that she was just taking Logan's order. However, t

Victoria took Grace's call with great calculation. In fact, her intention was to prepare dinner. However, this call came at an uncharacteristically inopportune time.“How was Doctor Bernard's examination this afternoon?” Grace's voice sounded cold and demanding.Victoria took a short breath before answering. “I think Doctor Bernard did his best,” she said briefly, hoping the conversation wouldn't drag on.“Really?” The tone on the other end of the line sounded suspicious. As always, Grace never fully trusted him. Victoria was sure Bernard must have said something about their interaction in Logan's office earlier that afternoon.“Yes, there were some things we talked about, but I don't think Mr. Logan would object to a continuation of the treatment session with Doctor Bernard,” she replied cautiously. Dealing with Grace was not something that could be done with hesitation.“You have to make sure

“Uncle Logan,” Abigail's happy voice filled the room. The little girl stood in the doorway with her favorite stuffed unicorn tightly in her arms. Her eyes sparkled, full of excitement, while Victoria followed close behind.Logan turned around, his expression calmer than usual. Since morning, the man seemed to be in a good mood - something that rarely happened. If Victoria remembered correctly, she had even seen Logan smile a few times today. She didn't know what made him that way, but the house felt different when he wasn't his usual cold self.“Yes?” said Logan finally, keeping his speech short and to the point.“What do you want?” asked Abigail in a cheerful tone. “Today I'm going to the hospital to see Uncle Doctor. Mommy said it's a routine check-up. Afterward, I want to stop by the ice cream shop. Do you want some?”Logan looked at the little girl with an astonished expression. “I don't like sweets.”Abigail immediately looked down slightly, as if disappointed. “What about candy?

“Why is Aunt Lucy here?” Abigail whispered fearfully, her small body tensed. Without hesitation, she left the glass with the three cups of ice cream she had been enjoying so much, then hurriedly hid behind Victoria's back.Across from them, Lucy chuckled. “Ah, you rude little girl,” she said in a teasing tone, though the look in her eyes was cold. She didn't even care when Victoria gave her a sharp look. “Don't you want to eat with your dear aunt here?”Abigail hugged her mother even tighter, hiding her face under Victoria's dress.“Stop it, Lucy.” Victoria's tone was firm. “You're making her uncomfortable.”Of course Lucy didn't care. She laughed even harder, then casually pulled out the chair in front of Victoria and sat there guiltlessly. There was an air of haughtiness in the way she looked at them, as if Victoria and Abigail's presence was nothing more than entertainment.“You're really enjoying your time as Logan Ashford's wife, huh.” A sly smile spread across Lucy's face. “I ha

“Good night, Abby.”Victoria kissed her daughter's forehead lovingly. Abigail was already asleep, probably since a few minutes ago, while she was still busy reading the final part of the story of the journey of the Frog Prince and Sleeping Beauty. She took a deep breath, adjusting her daughter's blanket carefully. “I'd better get some sleep. It's been a long day,” she muttered softly. But before leaving the room, her eyes fell back on Abigail's innocent, sleeping face. The image of the incident at the ice cream shop was still lingering in her mind - her daughter's sad look, the trembling voice when she said that she didn't want to see Lucy anymore. The guilt still lingered in her heart.A soft knock on the door interrupted her reverie.“Mrs. Victoria.”Victoria opened the door immediately. Rosa stood in the doorway with a slight bow, her expression calm as ever.“Mr. Logan is waiting for you in his office.”Her brow furrowed. This was unusual. Logan rarely asked to see her this late a

Victoria was surprised to feel Logan's breath still touching her wet and slightly swollen lips. The kiss that had just happened was still there, leaving a sensation that made her body stiff.“Come back,” Logan said softly between breaths, his voice low and deep.Victoria swallowed, trying to find an opening to escape the swirl of mixed feelings.“It's getting late, and you should get some rest,” Logan continued. He was right, but..."Do you need me to carry you to your room?"“No,” she said quickly, almost sounding nervous.Logan gave a small nod, as if he understood the anxiety that was creeping over Victoria."Then I'll be leaving," she continued hurriedly. Her hand reached out for the file she'd handed Logan earlier. “Good night.”Without waiting for a response, Victoria stepped away with some haste. Her heart was still pounding wildly, and the only thing that filled her head was the softness of Logan's lips and the scent of his breath that was somehow so disturbing to her.Oh my G

Victoria looked at Ben with slightly furrowed brows. “Is my question wrong?”Ben remained standing with a calm expression, as if the question didn't matter to him at all. “You have nothing to worry about, Mrs. Victoria. Doctor Bernard has ensured that all of Mr. Logan's progress reports are given in detail to Lady Grace. Just as that lady wished.”“But I never see Doctor Bernard come to visit,” Victoria murmured, feeling odd.“He is in the right wing of the house. If you wish to see him, I can make arrangements.” A crooked smile graced Ben's face. “However, he will not be going to the main house. You can continue the therapy process without interruption.”Victoria gave a small nod, although a sense of doubt still lingered in her mind. “Well, I just want to make sure everything goes without raising suspicion. I know, sometimes James just shows up unannounced. I need to know the conditions in

Victoria crouched in front of Logan's wheelchair, her fingers slowly twisting his legs to relax them. Her eyes were attentive, looking for the small signs that had been the main focus of their therapy sessions for the past month.“Just one more time, Mr. Logan. This time slowly.”From her point of view, Victoria could see that today was different. Logan's leg response was occurring more frequently than before. Even the man himself admitted that he could feel his calf muscles tighten a little. After almost two years of no sensation in his legs, wasn't this tremendous progress?Logan sighed heavily, his face slightly sour. “I've done it many times, Woman. You want me to be a robot, don't you?” he muttered in a tone full of complaint, as usual. However, despite his reluctant voice, Logan did as he was asked. And after the gentle massage that Victoria had given him earlier, the man moved his toes again—faintly, but clearly enough

The slowly improving relationship between Victoria, Lucy, and her mother brings a new atmosphere to their lives. Although Victoria remains vigilant, she cannot ignore their efforts to repair the relationship. Abigail seems happy, and that is her top priority.Logan, as always, is her loyal supporter. He understands how difficult it is for Victoria to accept them back, but he also understands that giving them a chance is a necessary step.“What do you think, Victoria?” Logan asked one evening as they enjoyed tea in the garden. ‘Do you feel they have really changed?”Victoria stared at the star-studded night sky, pondering her answer. ’I want to believe it, Logan. They seem sincere. But old wounds don't just heal.”Logan held her hand, providing a calming warmth. “Let's just take it slow. I know you're doing this for Abigail's sake, and I'm proud of you.”A few weeks after their first visit, Lucy and he

It was a sunny day with a gentle breeze carrying the scent of flowers from the back garden. In the living room, Victoria was sitting with Logan, discussing their weekend plans, when the sound of the doorbell suddenly broke the silence.“Who is it so early in the morning?“ muttered Victoria, getting up from the sofa and walking towards the door. When the door opened, a look of surprise immediately appeared on her face. Lucy and her mother, Abigail, were standing there. Their faces looked a little tense, although they tried to look calm.“Victoria,” Lucy said in a low voice. “May we come in?”Victoria was silent. Old memories flowed back into her mind—the wounds they had left on her and Chelsea were still clear. However, before she could answer, Logan was already standing behind her.“Please come in,“ he said firmly, his tone neutral. The atmosphere in the living room was filled with tensio

Papa Logan!” she exclaimed, running energetically.Victoria immediately stretched out her arms, welcoming her daughter in a tight hug. ”Mom, I miss you so much, sweetheart. How are you?”Abigail smiled broadly. “I'm fine, Mom! Aunt Jesslyn and Uncle Frans are very kind. We baked a lot of cakes!”Logan, who was standing next to her, leaned over and kissed Abigail's forehead lovingly. ”Dad misses you too. You're getting smarter, aren't you?”On the sofa, Jesslyn sat down with a warm smile. The days passed happily. Logan, who had to rely on a cane to walk, was finally able to move normally again. The long recovery paid off, restoring the confident smile that had disappeared from his face.Abigail also showed tremendous progress. Her health was increasingly stable, even good enough to take exams to enter a normal school. This was a big moment for her family, especially for Victoria. She knew how important education was for Abigail's future, and she wanted to make sure her daughter got the best.In the midst of all the busyness, one night, Logan approached Victoria with a confident look on his face. They sat in the living room after Abigail went to sleep, enjoying the warm tea Victoria had just made.“I have a plan,” Logan said suddenly.Victoria looked at him curiously. “What are your plans?”Logan smiled, his eyes shining like a child holding a big surprise. ‘Vacation. That morning, Victoria felt a little nervous. Frans had informed her that Jesslyn, his wife, would be visiting. Although she had agreed to accept this situation for Abigail's sake, there was anxiety that she found difficult to dismiss. What if Jesslyn objected? What if this meeting complicated matters? The front door of the house opened as the servant opened it. Frans entered first, followed by an elegant-looking woman. Jesslyn's smile was friendly, but Victoria could sense the tension hidden behind that expression.“Hello, Victoria,” Jesslyn said as she extended her hand.Victoria shook her hand gently. ”Hello, Jesslyn. Thank you for taking the time to come.”Jesslyn sat in the living room, her eyes occasionally glancing around the house. “What a beautiful house,” she commented briefly.“Thank you,” Victoria replied in a neutral tone. Victoria sat in the living room with Logan. The cup of tea in her hand had long since cooled, while her thoughts were constantly haunted by the terrible events of some time ago. The smell of smoke and the sound of cracking wood on fire still felt so real every time she closed her eyes.“Grace won't be getting out of prison anytime soon,“ Logan finally spoke up, breaking the silence between them.Victoria looked up, staring at the man in front of her with a questioning expression.“How can you be so sure?” she asked, her voice slightly trembling.Logan sighed before answering, “There is a lot of corroborating evidence. The police have found records of her illegal transactions, evidence that she hired someone to burn down our house, as well as documents showing her motive for destroying Dallas Corp. Believe me, Victoria, Grace won't be free for a long time.”Victoria bit her lip, trying to digest Logan's words. How

Victoria's life is slowly returning to calm, something she hasn't felt in a long time. What previously only felt like a dream is now a reality. Every morning she wakes up grateful that Abigail is getting healthier, and Logan, who is slowly recovering from his leg injury, now hardly needs a cane to walk. The kitchen is now Victoria's favorite place. The smell of cooking fills every corner of the house, bringing a warmer atmosphere. Logan and Abigail often join in, helping or just chatting while waiting for the food to be ready.“Morning, Mom!” Abigail's cheerful voice breaks the morning silence.Victoria turns and sees her daughter running towards her. The little girl's smile is always an encouragement to her.“Morning, sweetheart,“ she replied, brushing Abigail's still slightly tangled hair.Soon, Logan emerged from his small study. After weeks of hospitalization, Abigail was finally allowed to go home. The news felt like a miracle to Victoria. Their journey had not been easy, and she never expected this day to come so soon.“Are we going home, Mama?” Abigail looked at her with sparkling eyes, her fingers tightly gripping her beloved rabbit doll, which was starting to get shabby.Victoria nodded, smiling warmly. “Yes, dear. We're going home. But remember, you have to follow Doctor Chris' advice, okay. Don't get too tired.”Abigail nodded excitedly. ”I promise, Mom!”While Victoria took care of the administrative documents, Logan went home first to make sure the house was ready to welcome Abigail. He was always like that—taking on a role without saying much. When Victoria received a call from Logan, she just found out that the man had prepared a little surprise.“Abigail should feel really welcome at home,” Logan said

That night, the hospital was quiet. Victoria sat on a small sofa in the corner of Abigail's treatment room. The little girl was fast asleep after a light conversation with her mother a few hours earlier. Logan stood by the window, staring blankly out. Occasionally he would shift his gaze to Victoria, then fall silent again.Victoria sighed softly. She could feel the anxiety hanging in the room. Logan rarely looked like this—so deep in thought. It made her feel guilty. The decision to involve Frans in Abigail's rescue was made in a panic, without having time to discuss it with Logan.“Logan,” Victoria finally called out, breaking the silence. The man turned slowly, his expression still flat. “Yes?”Victoria got up from where she was sitting and walked over to him. ‘I know something is bothering you. I can feel it.”Logan shook his head slowly. ’I'm just tired, Victoria. Too much has happened in the las
