NINA’S POV
Hearing that my mother had called Nadia over had drained the whole blood that could possibly be stored in the fleshy part of my face. I had walked out of the war, and sat on the seats in the hallway. Why did mother have to make that mistake?
It wasn’t her fault though. She wasn’t in the right state of mind, so she can’t tell who is an enemy and who isn’t. I placed my thumb on my teeth, almost biting my nail off as I thought of what I could do in such a critical situation.
The moment Nadia steps foot into this city, hospital, things would go weird. Her presence was very capable of ruining things for me. My worries had overshadowed the pain of my father leaving this world while I wasn’t prepared for it, and I couldn’t even pretend to mourn.
I had to act fast on this situation. I lost my father today, and if I do not act fast, I’m
NADIA’S POVAs we landed in California, I held both my kids firmly, ensuring that they were safe with me, then hired a cab to drive me off to the hotel I booked, already.“Mommy, where is this place? You didn’t tell us we’ll be going on a vacation.” Zelda said as she stared the sceneries while the driver was taking us through places which I had once passed through.I didn’t want to explain anything in details as they were too young to understand the complicated situation. It would also break their little hearts to hear the whole painful truth.“We aren’t on vacation. We are here to pay our last respects to someone very dear to me which I know.”“When you say last respect, you mean the person is dead?” Zayn questioned, realizing what I meant.“Yes.”“Is that why you were crying back a
NADIA'S POVI scoffed and then walked past her, and my shoulder bumped into hers intentionally.“That brat! She seems to have gotten more prideful.” I heard my step mother voice out, in a disgusting tone.I didn't know where I got that confidence from, but what I was so certain about was the anger that was whirling deep inside of me.I headed out of the hospital and then took a cab back to the hotel.“Thank you so much, Martha. I really do appreciate this.” I thanked Martha with a smile on my face.“You can always call me anytime you need me. I'll be at your service. By the way, these kids are the best and most well behaved kids I have ever watched over.”“I'm glad they were well behaved. Here is your pay. I added a few more dollars in it.”“Thank
NADIA'S POV.I wondered why a totally different person would open the door to Penelope's house. She looked nothing like Penelope, so I dismissed the thought of it being a distant relative.Or had Penelope gotten herself a new friend?Anyway, I decided to look past it, as long as I got to see Penelope."Good day." I greeted, as the woman watched me with large hazel eyes. "Uh, is Penelope home?" I asked, and her eyebrows knitted together."Penelope?" She asked in a soft voice, like she'd never heard the name before. "Who's that?"I stared at her for a while, not knowing the right word to say. How was I to answer her question? What did she mean? Why was she asking who Penelope was? What was she doing there if she didn't know Penelope?I took another look at the house o
NINA'S POV.I paced around in the room feeling a throb begin to start at my lower temple. How I hated headaches that tended to tilt to the side. They were always more monstrous than the usual headaches, and who was the cause of the headache?Of course it was no one but Nadia. My pacing got faster, with my left arm folded under my breasts, and my right elbow resting on it.As I paced faster, my thumb nail which was in my mouth, was also gnashed faster.I was scared of what she would do now that she had her confidence. That was what troubled me for a long time and gave me a terrible headache. She alone, was always on my mind. It made me wonder why she even bothered existing. Her existence was like a thorn in my neck. After pacing for a long time, I stormed towards my des
NADIA’S POV I got back to the hotel safely, and all that had happened today, went through my mind like I was watching TV. The children were fast asleep and i ought to have slept as well as tomorrow was going to be a long day. Come to think of it, Will was the only one I hadn’t seen since I got back here, and I still didn’t have any idea on how I was going to react if I set my eyes on him. He couldn’t be blamed for the misfortune I had, because I had no evidence to prove that I wasn’t guilty, but framed. But then, I hoped that he wasn’t going to give me the cold shoulder because that was the only thing that could ruin my day, and break me completely. I laid on my bed, and covered myself up as I stared at the bed side desk blankly. Father, I hope your soul is going somewhere better than this world. If not taking good care of me is the only sin you have sinned, then I forgive you,
NADIA'S POV. I stared at the text for a while. Why did Nina want to meet up out of the blue? Was there something she had to say that couldn't be said over the phone? I sighed, and continued to stare at the message, not sure if I wanted to meet up with her or not. I had been thrown into serious mourning all of a sudden and didn't need anyone making things harder for me. Besides, Nina was unpredictable. I couldn't bring myself to trust her. After staring at the message for a while, I decided to meet up with her and hear what she wanted to say. Afterall, there was nothing to be scared of. I had nothing to lose. I stayed alone for a while thinking hard on the people I had lost, and honestly speaking, I couldn't begin to see how I would rise out of my depression. It was a little too much to bear at once. I gave a sigh and closed my eyes, covering myself with the sheets. "Mummy, are you sleepy?" I suddenly heard Zelda say, and I pulled my head out of the covers. "Maybe a littl
ALPHA WILL’S POV It had been an unexpected meeting with a particular client regarding a change in a contract that was skipped by my secretary. I would have pushed back the meeting, but this was an urgent issue, and coming out as a rude CEO wasn’t what I desired. I let out a sigh as I stared at the outside world through my window while me driver was driving me back home. The street was busy, and the sparkling light gave the night around here, a beautiful and lively look, especially one for lovers. If it were back then when Nadia was still my wife, and the Luna of this pack, I would have felt happy and excited to go back home, but it was Nina, the complete opposite of her. Worse was, I couldn’t act the way I wanted as I had to consider the fact that her father had just kicked the bucket. Since the moment he died, she had been calm and a bit unlike the Nina I knew, but then, I wasn’t sure it was her new and permanent demeanor. Suddenly, my eyes caught someone familiar. Her appearanc
NADIA’S POV“Hold on!” I voiced out, stopping him from moving any further. Then I looked left and right, then held my kids’ hands tight.“Follow me.” I urged him as I walked out of the crowd, and headed over to a serene place with lesser people. As we got there, I urged Zayn and Zelda to play in that surrounding but warned them not to wander far from me.“Nadia, there is nothing much better than revealing it to Will. Things will change for the best. I heard of all that happened, and to be honest, I believe you.” Tristan uttered, making me feel overwhelmed with the fact that he was the only one in my hometown who believed that I wasn’t guilty as charged.“I…I understand. But there’s no going back, and I’m fine where I am, right now. Please keep this to yourself.” I urged, with a pleading look. “I have to go now. By the way, thanks for your belief in me.” I appreciated him, then left.I walked out of the burial site, and got into the car which was waiting for me. Good thing it was a rid
NADIA'S POV.I walked back to the restaurant, smiling and greeting anyone who made eye contact with me. My joy was over the top. I couldn't help but express my happiness. It was a burning cauldron inside of him. When I got back to the restaurant, Titan and Anna were still talking, and laughing. It felt like they'd known each other for some time.I walked into the restaurant, and made my way towards them."Jeez, Alpha Titan was just telling me a funny joke. If you hear it, you'll burst into laughter." Anna said, vibrating with laughter."Okay… what's it?" I asked."Now, listen well. A duck, and a frog…" he began, and I paid attention, but by the time he was done, I burst into a shrill laughter I had fueled myself instead of Titan's joke.Anna had definitely fallen for Tit
NADIA'S POV.The next day, I went to Anna's room, and saw her scrolling through her phone, while she lay on the bed, with her back turned upwards."Hey." I called, with a smile, closing her door, and going to join her on the bed."Hey hey." She replied cheerfully, turning over, so her back was on the bed."What are you so engrossed in?" I asked, snatching her phone, and saw she was staring at the photo of a handsome young man."Woah. He's cool." I said, and she chuckled."Are married women allowed to say that?" She asked, and I laughed."What's wrong with appreciating beauty? You were doing the same thing, too." I shot back, passing her phone back to her, and she grinned."You know… there's actually someone who's as handsome as this. Maybe more." She said, biting the nail on her thumb.
NADIA’S POVThat night, I felt so good and relieved while I was on the bed with Will. To think that in the last few hours, I felt so depressed, and heartbroken. I didn’t know how I could live with the fact that Nina was going to die, and I wouldn’t see or hear of her anymore. No, it was best for her to be given the chance to atone for her sins, at least. And as her family member, I was the only one who could plead for her or make her freedom from death, happen. Will walked out of the bathroom, and cleaned his hair with his towel.“I hope you’re now satisfied, Nadia?” He asked, with a charming smile.I loved the atmosphere around. It was a light, and happy one. At least, our enemy was gone now, and we had given her a judgement that wouldn’t burden anyone. The only thing I hoped for was that she would learn her lessons, and turn a new leaf.
NADIA’S POV“Nadia, you need to stop brooding about this. It’s been two days now, and you aren’t eating as you ought to. All because of your half-sister who wouldn’t bat an eye if you were the one in that shoe?” Anna complained as she sat before me in the living room. She was right. Nina wouldn’t bat an eye if I were the one whose punishment was death. In fact, she would be happy that I was going to be killed, and therefore be out of this world, and her way of getting who she wanted, which was Will. But then, I wasn’t her. This is me, and I can’t bring myself to accept Will’s judgement. In fact, it was seeming more like Will had done something to ensure my calls wouldn’t get to him. Even Tristan wasn’t answering my calls, and it was certain it was on Will’s order, so I can’t blame him.I couldn’t even get angry
ALPHA WILL’S POVAs soon as we got to Los Angeles, I checked my wristwatch, and noticed I still had time, and I could even get to the hotel before the client I’m meant to see, arrives.I wasn’t meant to come out for anything regarding business because I had a lot going on which I had to settle, but this was really important. It was about a contract which we had once signed, but there was something that needed to be changed in some of the terms and conditions, and my presence and signature was needed before it could be processed.Well, it was also a good distraction to take my mind off the fact that I had ordered the guards to behead Nina. That was the most suitable punishment for her. In fact, if there was any other punishment worse than death, I would give it to her.She had made me feel a bit less of an Alpha because of the way she managed to play me, and made
NADIA’S POVIt had been two days since Will stayed in his study, thinking of the perfect punishment to give Nina. Although, he allowed me in whenever I wanted to check up on him, but he didn’t come to sleep in the room. He ate, drank and did everything in his study. He had said that it was until he thought of the perfect punishment that he would find himself worthy to sleep by my side, and do things with me. Although, I understood how bad he still felt when he found out that I was framed, and then he turned his back against me when the world did. It was more like he was beating himself up, and several times, I had told him I had forgiven him, and it was fine.Yet, he couldn’t bring himself to be with me.“Will, it’s time you stop beating yourself up on this. Her being in the dungeon is enough punishment for the atrocities she has caused.” I said to him as I looked
NINA’S POVWho would have ever thought that I would end up in a dungeon, in my life? Worse, a dungeon in a place where I have ruled as a Luna. Where I have been respected, and revered. Much worse, my mom was also with me in this dungeon.I could imagine my father shaking his head in disappointment at us. I didn’t listen to him when he pleaded for me to let go of the grudge I had on Nadia. But then, why did Nadia always have to pose as a threat to whatever I desire, or have?It wasn’t my fault that I tried several times to eliminate her. She had always made me uncomfortable, and I can’t keep on living in discomfort every single time. The dungeon was cold, and I stuck so close to the wall, wrapping my arms around my crouched knees. It was a bit dark, and spooky, making it certain that there could be spiders and some creepy crawlies. The thought that things that I h
ALPHA WILL’S POVI couldn’t believe my ears. So, all this while, I was being played by Nina, and she had her way at each stage she planned. It was so unbelievable that she could outsmart me, myself. How could all these happen, and I had no suspicion about this?It was so embarrassing as the memory of the time when Nadia was brought out to the meeting hall and was being interrogated, but nothing worked in her favor- came to my mind. Nadia had pleaded for me to believe her; although, she had no proof, but then, I ought to have been lenient. So, I played Nina’s pawn, and made my lover suffer all for nothing, and alone, all by herself. Anger filled me up like when water fills up a bucket to the brim. I got so furious that if it were possible, fire was going to flare out of my head, showing how dangerously angry I was.I slammed my hand on the table as I rose to my feet with a frown on m
NADIA’S POVSeeing as Nina was back, it was best to strike before she went out again. Judging from the past ways which Nina has worked, it was evident that she was the fast and smart type. Definitely, she was going to start planning something as she got home. So, it’s best for me to be faster and smarter, or I won’t know when all that I have planned would go down the drain, and she would again, win against me. As I woke the next morning, I immediately went to Will’s study as that must have been where he was, currently. If he was in his matrimonial bedroom, it would have been obvious. It’s either I hear him speaking out in anger to Nina, or he would barge out of the room. So, none of that happened for almost half an hour, last night. As I got to his study, I pushed open the door since it was slightly open, and I was met with his curious expression.&l
