NADIA’S POV
My limbs were literally frozen as I couldn’t move an inch while staring at her until she walked out of the cake shop, without noticing I was staring at her. Then I shook my head, and brought out my phone, and dialed Will’s number, but it wasn’t reachable.
He was on another call. The appetite to eat cake, went down, and nothing interested me at this moment. Then she passed by me, while on the call, and walked out of the cake shop.
“Ma’am, are you alright? I noticed you weren’t looking okay when I saw you through the glass walls.” One of my guard said, with concern written all over his face.
“I’m… I’m fine. Let’s leave.” I urged, and walked out of the cake shop, then into the car.
As soon as my guard settled down in the car, I handed the cake over to him.
“Here. You can have it.” I uttered, and
NADIA’S POV“Hey Nadia. Sorry I came later than you expected.” Penelope apologized as she walked in immediately after my maid opened the door.I heaved a sigh of relief when I saw her. Thankfully, no past was repeating itself.“It’s fine. What took you so long?” I asked, out of curiosity.“Traffic.” Penelope replied, and sat down comfortably on the couch opposite me.She was sweating, and I could tell her lungs thirsted for something chilled.“I see. What can I offer you? Juice, or a glass of water?” I inquired with a smile on my face.“Well, I think I’ll love to serve you, instead. You look a bit down. You think I won’t notice? So, let me start from treating you like the Queen that you are.” Penelope said, and stood up.“Oh, I didn’t know it was that obvious. But it doesn’t still warra
NADIA’S POVI let out a frightened gasp as I sat up abruptly, holding the bed covers, tight at both sides. Sweat dripped down to the bed covers, and some slid down to other parts of my body, making my night wear, wet in some parts.Suddenly, my mind flashed back to the time I passed out. I definitely passed out on the floor. How did I get to the bed? Did someone perhaps sneak in, and do this? I scanned everywhere, including my wardrobe which was wide open. Nothing was missing. Then I noticed dim light piercing into the room through the window. It was dawn already. I got down from the bed, and my head felt a bit dizzy, but it was only for a moment, then I picked up the glass cup which I thought was filled with water, I also picked up my phone, and went down the stairs, slowly.“Good morning, ma’am.” My maid greeted me, with a little bow.“Morning.”“Ma’am, I hope you
NADIA’S POVI rubbed my eyes instantly, and opened my eyes, but didn’t see him again. I looked around, but didn’t see him anywhere.“Is anything wrong?” Isabella asked, looking concerned.“No. I thought I saw someone. I guess I shouldn’t take any more shots.” I chuckled, and then looked back at the spot I saw him before.Just as I looked away from that spot, I noticed Penelope walking in. Well, it was quite unfortunate that I had lost the interest to stay here.“Uhm… Isabella, it was nice to meet you. I have to leave now.” I informed Isabella and she waved goodbye with a smile on her face. Then I walked up to meet Penelope who was already giving me a baffled look on why I stood up.“I don’t think I can stay here, any longer. I want to go home.”“But why? I just got here.” Penelope said
NADIA’S POV After the call, I stared into mid-air. I saw Derek last night, even if that was a hallucination. It gave me goosebumps to hear that Professor Dane had something to say about Derek. While it was scary to hear what he had to say, I still had to go to know what exactly he had to say. It could be an answer to a question I haven’t realized I need to know about. I picked up my bag, then walked out of my room, and hurried down the stairs. I called out to my guards, and driver, and then we drove off to the school. When I got to the school, a wave of nostalgia hit me. I could literally see Derek and I, laughing and smiling while going out of the school. I bit my lips, and fluttered my eyelids nervously. “Ma’am, are you okay?” One of my guards asked, out of concern. “Yes, I am. You can wait out here. I won’t take too long.” I informed him, and walked into the college. As I w
NADIA’S POVThe sound of Penelope, eating popcorn, and laughing at the comedy show was dimmed by the series of thoughts in my head. I needed to make sure to go to Derek’s house tomorrow, regardless of whatever memory was waiting for me.This letter painted a whole new picture of Derek, and I really hoped that whatever truth I find, it would mean that Derek wasn’t all that evil, but also cherished our friendship. If this person who hired Derek wanted to get to me easily, he or she could have sighted Penelope and planned to use her, but it was certain that Penelope wouldn’t budge. She would do anything for me, and this made me glad enough that I have her in my life.“Penelope, has anyone person approached you to try to get rid of me?” I questioned, inquisitively.“What!” Penelope exclaimed in shock, and coughed really hard like she had choked on he
NADIA’S POVI observed that Penelope had gone back home with a sad demeanor, but not even that could change my mind. I stared at my bedside lamp for a while, wondering what I would find tomorrow when I head over to Derek’s house.Slowly, my eyes closed, and in no time, I was at the verge of falling asleep.“Good morning, ma’am.” Camila woke me up with her voice, and her light tap.“I don’t recall telling you to get me a cup of coffee, Camila.” I voiced out, wondering why she had come in, without hearing from me, giving her permission to come in.“I apologize, ma’am. But I overheard your alarm, ringing. And I felt you could have an important thing to do, so I decided to wake you with a cup of coffee.” She explained, and then I blew air out.“Alright, thanks. You can leave.”After she left, I went into th
NINA’S POV“Woo!” I raised my voice higher as I enjoyed the great joy this slow music was adding to the already beaming joy in my heart. I twirled around like a princess, and giggled continuously like an over joyous child. The joy of having things go your way gradually was a unique and precious feeling I never want to let go.“Gbam! Gbam!”The sound of that really loud knock made me skip a heartbeat, and let out a gasp of shock. I walked up to the door, and opened it up, but to my surprise, it was Nadia. Nadia had found her way right to my house, and what got me interested in her presence was the annoyed expression she had on her face.“Come in.” I urged her, with a smile, looking interestingly at her.As Nadia moved forward inside, she turned to me, and threw a picture at me, in anger. That was quite an insult to me, and I felt a strong feeling
NADIA’S POVI got home, replaying the scenes I had experienced since I went out to investigate on Derek. It was quite confusing, thinking about what Derek had in mind, regarding Nina and I. The stories and evidence just really didn’t match as it ought to.Could it be that Derek was only after Nina because he liked her, and was obsessed with her? But was sent to get rid of me? I covered my face with both my hands, and breathed out. It would have been best if I had someone else whom we were both investigating on this case.At least, ideas would be shared, and it could make finding out the real perpetrator, easier. All these was making me curious on who could have sent Derek. It was obvious the person really covered up all tracks leading to him or her. A knock came on my room door, interrupting my deep thoughts, and I knew it was my maid. Camila was really doing her job well, but on days when I’m cranky, I
NADIA'S POV.I walked back to the restaurant, smiling and greeting anyone who made eye contact with me. My joy was over the top. I couldn't help but express my happiness. It was a burning cauldron inside of him. When I got back to the restaurant, Titan and Anna were still talking, and laughing. It felt like they'd known each other for some time.I walked into the restaurant, and made my way towards them."Jeez, Alpha Titan was just telling me a funny joke. If you hear it, you'll burst into laughter." Anna said, vibrating with laughter."Okay… what's it?" I asked."Now, listen well. A duck, and a frog…" he began, and I paid attention, but by the time he was done, I burst into a shrill laughter I had fueled myself instead of Titan's joke.Anna had definitely fallen for Tit
NADIA'S POV.The next day, I went to Anna's room, and saw her scrolling through her phone, while she lay on the bed, with her back turned upwards."Hey." I called, with a smile, closing her door, and going to join her on the bed."Hey hey." She replied cheerfully, turning over, so her back was on the bed."What are you so engrossed in?" I asked, snatching her phone, and saw she was staring at the photo of a handsome young man."Woah. He's cool." I said, and she chuckled."Are married women allowed to say that?" She asked, and I laughed."What's wrong with appreciating beauty? You were doing the same thing, too." I shot back, passing her phone back to her, and she grinned."You know… there's actually someone who's as handsome as this. Maybe more." She said, biting the nail on her thumb.
NADIA’S POVThat night, I felt so good and relieved while I was on the bed with Will. To think that in the last few hours, I felt so depressed, and heartbroken. I didn’t know how I could live with the fact that Nina was going to die, and I wouldn’t see or hear of her anymore. No, it was best for her to be given the chance to atone for her sins, at least. And as her family member, I was the only one who could plead for her or make her freedom from death, happen. Will walked out of the bathroom, and cleaned his hair with his towel.“I hope you’re now satisfied, Nadia?” He asked, with a charming smile.I loved the atmosphere around. It was a light, and happy one. At least, our enemy was gone now, and we had given her a judgement that wouldn’t burden anyone. The only thing I hoped for was that she would learn her lessons, and turn a new leaf.
NADIA’S POV“Nadia, you need to stop brooding about this. It’s been two days now, and you aren’t eating as you ought to. All because of your half-sister who wouldn’t bat an eye if you were the one in that shoe?” Anna complained as she sat before me in the living room. She was right. Nina wouldn’t bat an eye if I were the one whose punishment was death. In fact, she would be happy that I was going to be killed, and therefore be out of this world, and her way of getting who she wanted, which was Will. But then, I wasn’t her. This is me, and I can’t bring myself to accept Will’s judgement. In fact, it was seeming more like Will had done something to ensure my calls wouldn’t get to him. Even Tristan wasn’t answering my calls, and it was certain it was on Will’s order, so I can’t blame him.I couldn’t even get angry
ALPHA WILL’S POVAs soon as we got to Los Angeles, I checked my wristwatch, and noticed I still had time, and I could even get to the hotel before the client I’m meant to see, arrives.I wasn’t meant to come out for anything regarding business because I had a lot going on which I had to settle, but this was really important. It was about a contract which we had once signed, but there was something that needed to be changed in some of the terms and conditions, and my presence and signature was needed before it could be processed.Well, it was also a good distraction to take my mind off the fact that I had ordered the guards to behead Nina. That was the most suitable punishment for her. In fact, if there was any other punishment worse than death, I would give it to her.She had made me feel a bit less of an Alpha because of the way she managed to play me, and made
NADIA’S POVIt had been two days since Will stayed in his study, thinking of the perfect punishment to give Nina. Although, he allowed me in whenever I wanted to check up on him, but he didn’t come to sleep in the room. He ate, drank and did everything in his study. He had said that it was until he thought of the perfect punishment that he would find himself worthy to sleep by my side, and do things with me. Although, I understood how bad he still felt when he found out that I was framed, and then he turned his back against me when the world did. It was more like he was beating himself up, and several times, I had told him I had forgiven him, and it was fine.Yet, he couldn’t bring himself to be with me.“Will, it’s time you stop beating yourself up on this. Her being in the dungeon is enough punishment for the atrocities she has caused.” I said to him as I looked
NINA’S POVWho would have ever thought that I would end up in a dungeon, in my life? Worse, a dungeon in a place where I have ruled as a Luna. Where I have been respected, and revered. Much worse, my mom was also with me in this dungeon.I could imagine my father shaking his head in disappointment at us. I didn’t listen to him when he pleaded for me to let go of the grudge I had on Nadia. But then, why did Nadia always have to pose as a threat to whatever I desire, or have?It wasn’t my fault that I tried several times to eliminate her. She had always made me uncomfortable, and I can’t keep on living in discomfort every single time. The dungeon was cold, and I stuck so close to the wall, wrapping my arms around my crouched knees. It was a bit dark, and spooky, making it certain that there could be spiders and some creepy crawlies. The thought that things that I h
ALPHA WILL’S POVI couldn’t believe my ears. So, all this while, I was being played by Nina, and she had her way at each stage she planned. It was so unbelievable that she could outsmart me, myself. How could all these happen, and I had no suspicion about this?It was so embarrassing as the memory of the time when Nadia was brought out to the meeting hall and was being interrogated, but nothing worked in her favor- came to my mind. Nadia had pleaded for me to believe her; although, she had no proof, but then, I ought to have been lenient. So, I played Nina’s pawn, and made my lover suffer all for nothing, and alone, all by herself. Anger filled me up like when water fills up a bucket to the brim. I got so furious that if it were possible, fire was going to flare out of my head, showing how dangerously angry I was.I slammed my hand on the table as I rose to my feet with a frown on m
NADIA’S POVSeeing as Nina was back, it was best to strike before she went out again. Judging from the past ways which Nina has worked, it was evident that she was the fast and smart type. Definitely, she was going to start planning something as she got home. So, it’s best for me to be faster and smarter, or I won’t know when all that I have planned would go down the drain, and she would again, win against me. As I woke the next morning, I immediately went to Will’s study as that must have been where he was, currently. If he was in his matrimonial bedroom, it would have been obvious. It’s either I hear him speaking out in anger to Nina, or he would barge out of the room. So, none of that happened for almost half an hour, last night. As I got to his study, I pushed open the door since it was slightly open, and I was met with his curious expression.&l
