I stand there dumbfounded on what I was supposed to do, I mean I knew somebody would be in here but not the agent that has been missing! Jackson stood there frozen in place, I also knew this was down to shock from seeing his sister, the one we were just talking about right in front of him after all this time.

“Jackson, oh my god you’ve found me.” Allison cries once the shock had somewhat passed, Jackson takes a look at me to make sure I was okay before he rushes over to help his sister out of the chains. “I’ve been here for years, I never thought I would get to see you again.” She cries as he’s finally able to loosen the chains and she slips out.

The first thing she does is wrap her arms around her brother, he soon holds her tightly as they cry against each other. I smile but did feel like a really obvious spare part, perhaps I should just take a seat so I’m really not out in the open like this.

“You guys have to be careful of Derek, he isn’t what he says he is and actually works w

After around an hour of Jackson’s manic driving, we arrive in the street of his house. I wanted nothing more than to get out of these soaking wet clothes, the only part of me that wasn’t wet was my top half due to this amazing coat. As we turn onto his street, I spot Reece getting out of his car with a bag in his hands. “What we going to do?” I ask Jackson more than a little panicked, if we casually just drive over where we’re covered in mud and soaking wet, Reece is going to see right off the bat that we didn’t just go for an evening drive somewhere. Jackson stops the car abruptly before putting it into reserve, before I knew it we were reversing very quickly down the road. I mean if this night has shown us one thing, it’s Jackson is a great driver! Once we reach the end, he swerved the car to the side and races the opposite way. “I’ll park the car in the back, I’ll have to come up with an excuse.” He says as the back of his house soon comes into view, the longer we leave Reece wa

We spent hours at the base with Allison, I think it’s the longest I’ve been at that place since this whole situation begun! Allison was explaining what had happened with Mario and where she has been staying, it sounds terrifying but also, Jackson and I were right on what our investigation was telling us. According to Alison, the night of her engagement to Derek, they headed to a hotel room which Derek had booked for them. She thought they would have a lovely evening until she walked into the bathroom, Mario stood there with an evil smile on his lips. As Alison had been working tirelessly on the case alongside my mother, she knew who he was straight away. He congratulated her on her engagement to Derek, but also told her things weren’t going to be the fairytale she had dreamed off. Before she knew what was happening, Derek comes up behind her and slipped her what she suspected was chloroform to cause her to pass out. When she finally awoke, she was in the little shed place Jackson, a

After I had finished with my tiny little breakdown, I convinced Jackson to take me to the house Mario is said to reside. At first, he was very hesitant and told me how dangerous it would be, which I knew was correct. But I assured him, we wouldn’t get out of the car at all, but I just needed to see if I could catch a glimpse of him. I don’t know why I felt the need to see this man in person, he is the one which kidnapped my father and sent my whole world in a spin. I have seen many photos of him and know what he looks like, but to be in the same facility as him felt like a must for me. After a few moments of persuasion, Jackson finally agreed, and we left to head to the address. Alison decided she would stay behind, she said after being forced to see that man on a daily basis and endure all which she did, she didn’t want to see him again until he was safely behind bars. We dropped her off at the base before getting on our way, while I looked over the evidence we have against Mario.

We continue to speed past traffic towards wherever this farm was, the whole world was a blur as we race down backroads and down alleys. I still had Jackson’s phone in my hand trying to call my mum, but each time it would go to voicemail caused the worried feelings to get closer and closer to the surface. I couldn’t stop the worried thoughts from swirling around my head, what if something bad had happened to her and Reece? The last time we had a proper conversation was an argument and the final time we spoke; I was so cold towards her. Yes, I’m still angry that she was never upfront with my dad and I about what she did. If we would have known she did this for work, we would have been more prepared if someone like Mario was going to appear in our lives. But as much as I’m angry with her, I still care about her so much. She is my mother after all, somebody I have always wanted a relationship with no matter what had happened through the years. I don’t want her going such as that thinkin

Within a few minutes, the quiet dirt road was now littered with agents from my mother's work and crews to check over my mum and Reece. Jackson and I were off to the side letting everyone get on, I wanted to start looking for Derek, but Jackson had to remind me, my mum doesn’t know that Jackson and I have been looking into this when we were told no. If I just start casing this place and not looking terrified, she’s going to know I’ve been in situations like this before. I lean up against Jackson’s car bonnet with my arms crossed, Jackson spoke with Alison who was still pretty shaken up from the whole ordeal. I begin to look around the surrounding area, the owner of the farm was stood by his fence with shock filling his expression, I bet this was the last thing he thought would happen to him this morning. I than move my eyes down to one of the exits of the lane, where it was my turn to feel intense shock roll through my body. The car which Jackson and I were following before we came h

  • The Spies Daughter    Chapter Thirty-One: Run-Ins

At first, I didn’t know what Jackson meant by hottest lead. In my mind, what my mother said about their best lead being taken back was true. Derek was the person who would give up all of Mario’s secrets, not only to save himself from a harsher punishment but also, it would enable my mother to take such a dangerous man off the streets. But now he was gone and back with his best buddy, who knows what horrifying things those two are concocting. Jackson told me to put what had just happened at the lane to the back of my mind for a second but focus on what we were doing before we got Alison’s call. This did confuse me for a second before I remember, we had found the house which Mario had been hiding out undetected for who knows how long. “Are you sure it’s safe for us to go to this house, I mean we just saw him leave this morning?” I ask as we turn on the street of the house, my fear was what if what had happened in the lane will happen here to us if he spots us. “Mario won’t be coming

We both stand in silence for a few moments, there are so many things you can explain away when it comes to creepy facts surrounding places. But a creepy dark basement in a huge criminal's house isn’t something you can, what the heck could be down there?! “That doesn’t seem like a very normal thing to have in a house.” I say trying to break any terrified vibe we had going on here, Jackson looks over at me shaking his head before reaching into his pocket. He pulls out his phone and turns his torch on, this beginning to illuminate the first few steps of the creepy staircase. My brain began to try and rationalise what may be happening, maybe Mario didn’t know about this, and it was here from the previous owners. But let’s be honest, I was able to find this place from just taking a very step around the house, he must have done that thousands of times while living here. Or maybe he wasn’t hiding anything sinister down there, I know Mario is a huge criminal and probably has some of the da

  • The Spies Daughter    Chapter Thirty-Three: Interesting

After my initial cry session, we leave the house, but Jackson does make sure to take photos of everything that he could. We know there may not be a chance for us to go back to that house, either my mother will find it herself and we’ll have to act like we never knew it was there. Or as Jackson said, we may have to send this all to my mother again which we can’t allow her to know it was us. We were on our way home now, the day started with us in the car heading towards that house, it now ends with us in the car leaving that house. But so much has happened in between, so much so that my brain can’t really comprehend everything which happened. My phone unexpectedly ringing on my lap causes me to jump, this because I was in my own little world but also, only three people have this number and one of them is sat right beside me. I pick up my phone to see it only read unknown caller, I look over to Jackson who also looked rather taken back. “Answer it but put it on speaker so I can hear.”

~9 months later~ “Noel, table 5 said their dinner was delicious.” I smile looking through to the kitchen with a smile, Noel looks up from the cooker with a smile on his face. “I’ll only produce the best boss.” He shouts before getting back to work, I smile at his comment before turning around to look at my busy restaurant. I better fill you in before you get too confused, yes, I own my own restaurant now. After everything with Mario and the base, I knew it was time I had to head back to my old life and start working in the same boring restaurant I had for years. Let’s just say, I wasn’t too thrilled about it all. My mother saw my reaction and asked why don’t I train up and become an agent, I had proven myself over the months working with Jackson and was the key role in catching Mario. The offer of course, sounded tempting but I knew it wasn’t what I was meant to do. Yes, I had the best experience getting to watch what happens and learn on the job what it offers, but I don’t think

Not even an hour later, Jackson and I were waiting behind the van with the team. The house was only a two-minute walk from here, but we needed to come up with an action plan, everyone having the mutual understanding of how unpredictable Mario can be on the best of days. But when we show up, he will soon realise, there is no way out now and he’ll need to pay for everything he has done to so many people. We don’t even want to know what he’ll do once he realises it’s all over for him, the most unpredictable man will get that much more unpredictable. Jackson was going over with the team of how we will enter the house, the unruly garden will be a perfect cover while they access the situation and make sure my mother and Mario are really there. No one was even talking about how many ways this could go wrong, all of our minds were focused on the job of getting my mother back safely and bringing Mario in. I think if I had allowed myself the moments to think all of this over in detail, I woul

An hour later, Jackson and I were walking into the base hand in hand. Now my mother has been taken by Mario, and Reece is in the hospital getting treated for being ambushed, Jackson was the boss. We needed a plan to one find where Mario has taken my mother but two, think of a way to bring Mario in without having what happened the last time. I’m led into a room which I had never seen before, it had people at desks filling the entire room. Who all turned to look at us as we walked in, paying extra attention to mine and Jackson’s interlocked fingers. I know it seems highly unprofessional that we’re doing this but let’s be honest, we all knew it was going to happen at some point! Right in the middle of the desks was a circle desk, one big computer in the middle with a bunch of people having panicked conversations with each other. In the centre of those panicked people stood Alison, who also looked worried. But once she turned to look at us, I see relief wash over her senses. “You’re fi

  • The Spies Daughter    Chapter Forty-Two: Jackson

The car ride felt like it was going on for hours, the tracker hadn’t moved since we had been following him but with every street we would turn down, it would feel like more would be added on. Jackson was going the ways I was telling him and was shocked we were in the part of town we were, according to Jackson, this is where most of the police officers and higher ups live. Mario was hiding right under their noses, and they had no idea. But let’s be honest, Mario is very good at what he does, he knew they wouldn’t be looking for him in their part of town, so that’s exactly where he hid. “It seems like the tracker is right on this next street.” I say looking down at my phone, the feeling of finally, being able to find my father at the forefront of my mind. Jackson turns the corner, where a huge office building which towered over all the other buildings stood. I take a look down at my phone and see the tracker seems to be within the building, Mario really wasn’t trying to hide in that p

Around half an hour later, we were all on our way towards the building my father would always tell me to remember to go there if something bad happens. Jackson and I were in front in his car while my mother and Reece, were in their car travelling right behind us. For once, I wasn’t nervous about heading to this place, it’s somewhere I had been before but also, a place my father told me I’d be safe if anything happens. Why didn’t I think of this when my father first went missing? What if all we need to stop Mario is in this building? I tell Jackson to take this final right turn where the building soon comes into view, the building itself not changing from the few years I had been here. I don’t take my eyes off the place even after Jackson parks the car, both of our attentions going to this building. “Ready?” Jackson asks turning to look at me with a smile, I take a deep breath nodding my head before we both open the doors and climb out where my mother and Reece were already waiting o

The following day I wake up bright and early, now I knew I could play a key main role in finding my father, I wasn’t wasting anytime. I was even downstairs making breakfast for Jackson and I, normally, it’s the other way around. But I felt thankful for the way he was helping me, he was forced into this babysitting position, where he has been nothing but kind and compassionate even when I have been anything but easy going. Jackson soon walks into the kitchen where he comes to an abrupt stop, I was unsure if this was because I was in the kitchen before he had even woken up or because I was cooking. Before he had time to speak, he had a plate of eggs, bacon and beans in his hands. “What’s the occasion?” He asks taking a seat at the counter looking down at the food I had made, I smile turning around with my glass of water and join him on the counter. “There’s no occasion, I just couldn’t really sleep and thought it would be nice if I make you breakfast this time.” I smile as he takes h

Jackson and I soon arrive back home, the incident with Peter still fresh on my mind as we walked through the door. I know my mum said a close friend of mine was looking into my disappearance, could that close friend be Peter? Now I’m thinking, I don’t think any of my other friends would go through the trouble. Was Peter just randomly at the restaurant and happened to bump into me, or was he there in hopes of finding more information about me? There are so much unanswered questions, which I probably won’t get the answers to until all of this is over. “After that food, I think I need to lay down for a year.” Jackson says closing the door behind us, after all of that with Peter, I’m shocked he can just go back to normal life. I smile towards him as he throws his keys on the counter beside the front door, switching the lights on. But once they were on, we both jump from shock and surprise to see my mother and Reece sat on the sofa looking at us. “Why the fuck are you in my house sitti

  • The Spies Daughter    Chapter Thirty-Eight: Missing Friend

It was now dinner time the same day, Jackson and I had done nothing but sit on the sofa, watch tv and talk about the most random of things. I know I have been saying I want nothing more than to catch Mario, which means I won’t stop until he’s found. That still remains true, and I want to work any hour I can until I find him, but I actually enjoyed today. I didn’t have to worry what would happen if Jackson and I were to make the wrong move, I didn’t have to sit and listen to all of the horrible details of the kind of things Mario has done to so many people. I felt like I was just a normal person going through their normal life for once. For dinner, Jackson suggested we go out to a restaurant to eat which at first, I was worried about Mario, but I knew he probably wouldn’t try to attack us I mean, he wants my help on more tasks so injuring me in anyway won’t be beneficial to him. The dinner was so delicious, we had picked food up at this place multiple times since I started staying at

It was later the same day, and I was just getting ready for bed, the entire rest of the day was spent with me, and Jackson sat at the base telling them what had happened. The number of times I had to explain the story of me talking on the phone with Mario was insanity! But that’s not the only part of the story I had to relive in great detail, but the moment we found Derek was also spoken about more times than I could count on my hands. Every time I would have to go over in great detail what happened, the image of his body lying there facing me, his eyes wide open looking terrified kept repeating over in my mind. I felt as though I needed to wash myself repeatedly to get whatever was in the air off me, but still the thought of Derek looking back at me wouldn’t leave. After getting changed, I look at myself in the mirror, my eyes also looking terrified just as Derek’s did. “Pull yourself together Ally.” I whisper to myself in hopes I would start to calm down, but still the feeling wou
