Valear smiled. It was almost genuine in his ghoulish way.

“That is not the problem Lucas, I do trust you. That may just be my undoing.”

Lucas‟ fear dissolved, “You will not take her life?”

“No.” Valear turned back to Elsa, just to look at her again. “ I do not fear the hold she has over you anymore. Her soul is pure, she could never betray you. However, I fear the weakness this

could cause you. Others will know soon. They might find this an opportunity to destroy you.”

“I had Celeste at one point as mine. You didn't show much interest then. Why now?”

Valear scoffed as his face took on a look of disgust, “Celeste was a whim. She was no threat. Her beauty dulls each time she opens her mouth and her simple desires, dreary intelligence, and

selfish cravings never had the power as this one has within her.”

His expression softened, and Lucas could sense an air of

intrigue in his voice when he spoke of Elsa. Then he watched him close his eyes.
