My heart gripped tightly, and I let out a silent gasp the minute I came out of my trance. Tears formed within my eyes from the pain, and I soothingly patted my heart as the pain went on for a while, and at the same time, I tried not to let out a sound so as not to call the attention of my mate.

It's been ten years since I woke up from my comma, and I've been treated by my mate and everyone like a fragile egg that would break if held tightly.

I must not let out a sign of pain, or they would all rush and hover over me. It was tiring to talk the least, much less to persuade them every time I was okay.

Making it the reason I tried so much not to let out a sound as I fought the pain and tears that threatened to come out of my eyes.

Only Goddess knows what they would do if they should know about my dreams and the pains I get from them. But in the first place, I am still trying to figure out how to relate it to them.

No idea how I should inform them that THE WAR WAS YET TO BE OVER.

"Kill her!" "Kill her!" "Kill her!" Those were the words chanted by the people present at the trial ground. They chanted it repeatedly, loudly, angrily as though they would not be heard clearly if they didn't. As though they would not be heard by their King, who was seated on his high throne, seething with a hardly-controlled angry aura. Whereas the council of Alphas and elders seated below his throne at both sides, the Alphas on the right and the Elders on the left looked up to the King in fearful anticipation of what the King, who had his eyes trained on the girl bound in chains at the centre of the courtroom, would do. “Pl…please… Please…” The chained girl pleaded. She was covered from head to toe in bruises and could barely stand on her two feet, much less talk properly. "Pl…please, my king," She pleaded crookedly before coughing blood out violently from her mouth. "Please… I'm no spy…It is all a lie," She cried out, struggling against the chains that bound her hands and

On hearing the King's words, the Elder realised his mistake and immediately went to his knees in regret."Your Majesty, I'm sorry… I beg for your mercy… I don't know what made me think I can talk in such a manner." The Elder said hurriedly with his head bowed to the floor, scared that the King would lash out at and devour him on the spot. The King eyed him angrily before diverting his gaze away from him before he lost control and pounced on him."Get the f**k out of my sight," He said irritatingly."Yes… yes… my King. Thank you for your kind gesture, my king" The Elder scrambled to his feet and moved away from the King's sight to the back of the crowd. As he found a perfect place to stay, a sinister smile crossed his face briefly before it was wiped off the next minute as though it was never there before. He would have left out of anger and humiliation, but he decided to stay behind to see what would become of the girl.To him, it would be best if she was sentenced to death because it

  • The Silver Wolf   The Prince's mate

The King was the most resilient among them all, as he maintained his calm and gait attitude throughout the Prince’s words. The only time he reacted was when the Prince cut him off initially. He silently watched and listened as the Prince talked without telling him to stop. However, as the Prince kept talking, he began questioning the reason behind his action. He knows his son too well to know that he would not do something of this nature publicly if it were not of great importance. When the Prince finished talking, salience befell the entire court as everyone waited in great anticipation for the King’s reaction. The silence elongated for a few minutes before the King finally cleared his throat, thereby breaking the silence.Everyone inhaled sharply as they watched the King slowly stand up from his throne and walk with unbothered steps toward the Prince. Two things crossed their mind at that moment. The first was…Oh no, the Prince is in trouble. He had succeeded in getting the King an

Hearing that, Elder Varlam fell on his knees and quickly said, “No…no, Your Majesty, I… I wouldn’t dare to… I would…”The King cut him off again, “You would, what?”The King crouched before him to be on the same level as the Elder before grabbing his chin between his fingers. “Seems I’ve been quite lenient with how you seem gutsy in confronting me with your words. Your words show that you are not satisfied with how I rule my Kingdom, and you have your opinion on how it should be done.” As the King spoke, his grip on Elder Varlam’s chin tightened.“No… no, your majesty, that’s not what I… I never intend….”“It seems quite well that that was your intention. If not, you would not have returned to show your face before me after I told you to get the f*ck out of my sight. Why did you keep it to yourself? Why did it take you so long to come out with it since you found out that early? Are you ashamed of a human as your mate? Is that why you didn’t say anything? If so, your mother and I raised you better than that.” The King bombarded him with question after the other.“No, Father, I’m not ashamed of her being my mate.” He heaved out a frustrated sigh and rubbed his face with both hands before continuing, “At first, the signs and bond weren’t vital enough for me to confirm it, and it took me a few weeks of several encounters to be sure. Despite her being an omega, she had never imagined she would end up being in her current situation.Well… that was before she was approached, forced, and sent to work in the Palace as a spy. After she entered the Palace and saw how lovely and kind they were towards each other and to her, guilt, regret, and fear were at t

As she reminisced in pain about her life, hurried footsteps drew her attention back to the present. Scared, she curled, drew closer to the shadows of the walls, and tried to make herself as invisible as possible. However, pain ignited all over her body as she did so, making her let out a strangled whimper. Her body was completely bruised and was not healing as it should have since she was a werewolf, but that wasn’t a surprise for her since she was a late bloomer and had yet to shift. But she wasn’t sure if truly she was a late bloomer or she was just unfortunate not to have a wolf. Though her family tried to hide it in their pack that she was yet to shift, one way or the other, it got out, which was also one of the reasons they were treated harsher than they were supposed to be treated. But she was already used to it. Shaking her head, she brushed aside her thoughts and tried to listen to what was happening around her while anxiously awaiting what was coming next. However, afte

At my question, he looked away, unable to meet my eyes. After a lengthy silence, he finally sighed and softly whispered, "That night, I was not myself. It was the red blood moon night, and I couldn't control my actions. On every red blood moon night, every creature that was yet to have a partner in our kingdom was unable to control their transformation and urge to copulate with the opposite gender. Hence any creature that was still single on this night would find themselves in a precarious situation. For those with royal blood, the situation was even more dire. The urge and lack of control were ten times stronger than the average changeling. We can hardly control ourselves, and most times, we tend to isolate ourselves completely from others to avoid any potential harm or consequences." He said with a heavy heart before walking the short distance to the window and staring blankly into the distance."That day I had been away on a trip that needed my very presence. It was one that I coul

"What? My father?" I looked at the 'young' handsome man in front of me in disbelief. He was claiming to be my long-lost father, a fact that seemed impossible to comprehend.I mean, how could someone this young be my father? He looked so young that he could easily be mistaken for my older brother. He was fair, almost pale white. His unfathomable, golden-brown eyes contrasted exceptionally with his light-toned face. His chestnut-colored hair pulled back into a neat ponytail; he truly was the epitome of elegance and grace. He had a certain air of wisdom and maturity that was beyond his looks, making it even more perplexing to accept the fact that he was my father. With his cheekbones and piercing golden brown eyes, he certainly had the same striking features as me, making it difficult to deny that we were related. However, that wasn't the thing that got me perplexed. It was his status as king that got to me the most."Wait a minute. You mean to tell me that you are my father and also the

Why do you think that you could disobey my orders?""A-apologies, my Lord, I came bearing news of great importance that could no longer wait for a moment." The man standing outside the room stammered."What is so urgent that it couldn't wait until morning and had to trouble me on it?"The man's disgruntled voice grunted out between groans of pleasure as the owner kept pounding the female bent before him with urgency. "Yes, we are changelings. We can change our appearance at will, blending seamlessly into any environment or society. We are a rare breed, feared and misunderstood by many. But to those who truly know us, we are loyal and protective friends."Hmm, loyal and protective indeed. With a sly smile, he added. "For thousands of years, we have stayed hidden, isolated ourselves from the rest of the world, until recently. There are those who no longer like the way we keep to ourselves and want to let the world know of our existence. It's probably one of them that you encountered before me and that tried to harm you. The reason behind that attack is unknown to us, but rest assured, I will protect you from anyone who tries to harm you and also find out who has done such a thing and the reason behind it. "What do you mean by that?" I was confused by his words. Why is it his duty to protect me?"Protecting you is my sole purpose," the mysterious figure replied with a calm and reassuring smile. I wasn't sure if I heard him correctly.Growing up, all I heard about him was that he was a beast that had forced himself on my mother and had his way with her. I never imagined that, apart from hearing about my father in the same sentence as a monster, I would hear about him in a different sentence entirely different from the ones I had grown up with. I had no idea if he was even dead or alive, or who he was or even looked like. There was nothing to tell me anything about him. The word father to me was more like a passing word that was used to insult me when needed."Yes, your father. He is very much alive, and he sent me to look for you and protect you as soon as he go

"Hehe, I didn't think it would be this easy after everything that had happened so far," another male voice said."Of course it is. That was why I told you guys to let me do it since no one would suspect me and I have the closest access to her." I heard Agatha's voice say, surprising me. I didn't expect her to be involved in this. I never for once thought she was involved in the whole thing."Yeah, let's get out of here before they notice her absence and come searching for her," the first male said."As if they would. No one cares about her that much, especially not her so called mate." With a smirk laced to his voice, the second male replied."Let's just get out of here before they notice her absence for too long. By the time I finished taking my shower and came out of the bathroom, the prince had gone, with no sign of him ever being there in the first place. I couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment and longing. I had thought that since he had taken the time to come to the room today, we would have had a chance to finally talk and get to know each other better. But now, it seemed like that opportunity had slipped away.Talk of someone who goes and comes as he wishes, it was clear that he had no intention of working on our mate bond—at least not now.It was quite disappointing, but who was I to blame if not me? I could understand his unwillingness to complete the mating bond between us.After all, I was the one who worked as a spy for the enemy and is still being suspected of working for the enemy, no matter how subtle they seem not to show their suspicions towards me.I let out a deep breath and went about doing my usual routine for the day.By evening, the dress finally came from the

On getting to the prince's private quarters, I was extremely tired and fell asleep immediately. However, I was woken up by a loud noise in the middle of the night and jolted up from the bed, frightened. Initially, I thought it was the prince who had entered the room, but to my surprise, it was a shadow hidden in the darkness of the room that sent chills down my spine."W…who is there?" I called as I quickly reached out to switch on the table lamb that was placed beside me on the bedside table. However, when the light illuminated the room, there was no one there. Instead, only a cold, empty silence filled the air.But I could not be wrong about what I had seen. I was certain that I saw a shadow in the corner of the room right before I turned on the light, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that someone or something was watching me. But since I didn't see anything, I tried to put the unease feelings aside and went back to sleep. But the lingering sense of unease stayed with me through
